Crossway Camping

We come here for a night or two almost every time we visit Armenia. It's our favourite place in the country to come and relax. Amazing oasis of a location, well maintained, great outdoor kitchen and barbecue area, swimming pool to cool off, excellent bathroom facilities, the list goes on!

We've stayed in one of the buses and it was amazingly comfortable, plush sheets, clean, full of character. Also camped here too and it's just as wonderful. The hosts are very friendly and laid back, they've done an incredible job of this place. There's also a couple of cats and dogs who live on the property who are also friendly (and the dogs are nice and quiet at night! No worries 🙂).

If you're traveling the north-south highway in Armenia then I'd consider this an essential stop to relax for a night or two. It's also right by the intersection of the Salem Pass, so you can go up to the caravanserai at the top and have an amazing view of the valley. It's also a short drive/hitchhike to Noravank which is spectacular and then close to Areni if you're into wine.

In short: go there! It's wonderful 😊

Well I had been so excited to spend a few nights in the camper van while exploring local wineries but for an unpredictable extenuating circumstance, I did not get to visit the country or the campground.☹ BUT I was SO impressed with the correspondence that I felt compelled to write this review about Alisa who promptly responded to a bunch of inquiries I made and was empathetic towards my situation. I know I really missed out not getting to visit this place and I look forward to another chance!

We stayed in our Camper twice, the owner is so nice, speaks Russian but only a few words English, we enjoyed the high sense of detail she spent in preparing the place, everything you would need is there and even beautifully arranged, the outdoor kitchen was perfectly equipped, washing machine available, showers and toilets in western standards and perfectly clean, you could also book an old Bus or an bungalow, we did not check this out, but seemed to us also very stylish & clean - for us one of the best spots in Armenia to camp

Perfectly located in the middle of scenic mountain ranges, great place to chill and enjoy the views. The woman who runs the place with her husband is particularly warm and hospitable. Good outdoor kitchen, everything is clean and well designed, better than most western campgrounds. Prices are reasonable. Road nearby was not loud. Only missing eating spots nearby. I’ll be back!

Great place to rest for a few days and explore the surrounding mountain ranges. The campsite provides very clean sanitary facilities and offers lots of cozy opportunities to sit down and relax. The well-equipped kitchen and the swimming pool make this campsite a 5 star experience.

Beautiful camp. I've never seen place like this, you can put up rent or just enjoy sleeping in little wooden "nests" or in old Russian bus (which is really beautiful inside). Sleeping in a tent cost you 3000AMD. Also the owner has his own wine which is amazing, we had to buy two bottles. There is also kitchen, shower, swimming pool, and a draft beer. Surroundings are astonishing. Just a lovely place.

Really lovely place. Great and very helpful host. Simple comfty clean rooms. And few other fun sleeping options to choose from. Small swimming pool, Tiny bar, good food- You wont get bored :) Go and try :)

One of the best camping/hotel site where I ever been. Fantastic , peaceful countryside around. Sleeping platforms, fishing pool, swiming pool, couple of rooms with bathrooms.
Absolutely delightful place to be, easily I would be happy to stary there more than one day.

Very nice campground. Modern. Beautiful places with hammocks to enjoy. Would have swimmingpool in summer. Very clean. B&B cosy beds. Not cheap, bit the 2000 Breakfast is fantastic! Nice Host-lady. Not much english.

Best experience in Armenia. Peaceful place, nice swimming pool, clean & beautiful rooms. We advise to order dinner there : it's the best we had in the country and very cheap. The owner and her daughter are wonderful people : thank you again for all your help and we wish you all the best ;) Hope to see you soon again !

Excellent stay! Everything was great! The rooms are clear, the breakfast very tasty, the owners so nice that you want to stay longer. The stay in Crossway Camping is a pleasure. I really recommend it!

Perhaps the only Western-standard campsite in Armenia, and definitely in Vayots Dzor province. As well as ample tent pitches for maybe 40-50 tents, there's vehicle access for camper vans, as well as raised pavilions which serve as 'glamping' accommodation, and a couple of dorms with bunks as well. Communal indoor & outdoor kitchens, hot showers, laundry facilities and catering on request complete the picture. Not necessarily cheaper than a budget B&B as prices are per person, not per tent, but certainly a good place to meet other travellers on the road to Vayots Dzor. As the name suggests, it's conveniently located as a basecamp for exploring all the many side valleys and sights of the region. Highly recommended.

Very clean and well-designed place with a variety of staying options: hostel rooms, half-open houses and tents. You can cook your own food and the owners are very nice too.

Very nice place. They speak english. You can sleep in tree houses, tent or shared bedroom. Laundry is posible. Shared kitchen. Very clean and tidy.

Great place to stay and enjoy. Perfect place for friends meeting, romantic couple meeting, wedding celabrations, camping etc.

Nous sommes un couple vivant en Poids lourd aménagé. Pour une raison personnelle nous avons du laisser notre Camion dans un camping le temps de rentrer en France pour presque deux mois.
Nous l'avons laissé chez "Crossway Camping" en toute sécurité. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Svetlana son mari et son fils, puis Alice leur fille avec qui nous communiquions par téléphone qui nous as beaucoup aidé ! On les remercies pour leur gentillesse, leur bienveillance, et de s'être occupé du camion comme si s'était leur maison ! Merci de l'accueil.
