The Ararat Hotel Cafe Bistro

Surprise pop in on my travels back from Adelaide. SUNDAYS are tricky, many towns are not very open. And definitely most kitchens are closed at 8pm Lovely old deco building and we shared a delicious Ararat salad (super crunchy fresh beans , halloumi, generous perfect avo, good serve !
Partnered with a Sunday special pizza .. our choice : hot and spicy (at an Aussie spice level) generous globs of mozzarella,
Extensive menu and appears very popular! Pretty busy when we arrived at around 730

Three of us dined here on a Sunday night. The food was fantastic - we ate pizzas (one GF, was delightful!) and one member of the group had the fish and chips.
The staff were incredibly accomodating including organising a surprise birthday treat for one of us. We were 15 min off the kitchen closing and did a bit of a panic order but honestly, judging by the quality of the food we had anything we ordered would have been great. 10/10 for service and food. Will come again.

I had dinner there and really liked so I went back in the morning for coffee. The staff was very friendly and the food tasty. The restaurant at night had a pleasant atmosphere and it has a nice decor. In the morning it runs as a cafe, I noticed some freshly made sandwiches in the cabinet and also some muffins.
Next time I am back in Ararat I will return and would recommend to friends.

Absolutely delicious food and great menu. The staff are all very lovely and the food is quite quick as well. New go-to for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Loaded nachos for birthday tea, massive feed and enjoyed thoroughly. Waiters were friendly and accommodating. Will return.

Stop to lunch at The Ararat Hotel Cafe Bistro with no booking and managed to accommodate us even with our pet with us. But of course we were outdoor at the back but it a was decent area. Although it was cold at that time but we were served fast and well looked after from hot water to extra etc etc! Harry was very nice! All food that we ordered were finished because they were all nice. Price was reasonable and love to go back there.

A good wholesome Cafè & Tavern, we stopped by for Lunch while travelling through Ararat. I had the Ararat Salad with chicken & it was amazing!

Had brunch here with my family on Saturday. The staff were friendly and the food was good. I had eggs benedict with mushrooms and a nice cup of coffee. We all enjoyed our meals.

We chose this restaurant over the rest in Ararat for our weekend stay, and I’m so glad we did. The staff were amazing. Super attentive and welcoming. The garlic pizza we had for a starter was 10000/10. Fresh dough and so amazing. My fiancé and I both had the chicken Parma and it was absolutely delicious and great sizes. We hate wasting food but the portion was perfect. It’s a very clean and welcoming restaurant held in an old hotel which has been renovated. Definitely call in here if you’re in Ararat.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Have not been there in 20 years - but a considerable improvement on past.

Needed to find a quiet place to watch an online funeral while on holidays. Staff were extremely accommodating and set us up in a comfy lounge away from others. Food was great - salt and pepper squid, toasted sandwiches chips, coffee and beer. Staff made a sad occasion a memorable experience. Thank you.

Great place to have a lazy breakfast on the weekend or coffee and cake for mid morning "top up" The staff are friendly and dining area well spaced and clean. Meal sizes are a decent size and prices are affordable. Great atmosphere in a beautiful old pub.

Very enjoyable meal in lovingly decorated historic hotel. As I am local, I enquired about Biryani (an Indian/Sri Lankan rice dish). Staff told me that it could be made as long as I ordered it a couple of days prior to dining. My friend and I were really pleased with the dish. It was made to perfection and accompanied by house-made Raita.
The Ararat Hotel Cafe Bistro has a wide variety of delicious offerings and is open every day till late.

Most delicious bbq pulled beef pizza ever! Wonderful crust and generous toppings. This bistro has been tastefully updated to reflect its art dec heritage. Well worth a visit.

Superb art deco hotel serving great food and coffee with smiley professional staff

Only negative thing about this place is no real disabled toilets as both my clients had trouble getting off toilets as too low and no grab rails. The food was excellent and very tasty, service from staff was great
