Salt at South West Rocks

Salt was perfect! We are on a two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia. Salt was by far one of the nicest accommodations on our trip. It is very clean, lovingly furnished, in good condition, very quiet and in a fantastically beautiful location. The kangaroos that roam the grounds are great.

The villas are beautiful and so clean. The place has such a gorgeous outlook and is also so peaceful.

The pool and pool area were great. Love a heated pool! The complementary bike hire was also so lovely.

The only suggestion I would make would be some plastic cups for kids and a few bikes with kids seats attached to make it even more family inclusive.

One of our favourite places to go for some relaxation. Stayed at Salt for the 3rd time and will not be the last!

We actually had our little “baby moon” at Salt. Hope to bring our new addition to Salt soon!

We LOVED our stay at Salt. The villa’s are absolutely beautiful and are so well decked out with all you could possibly need. Prior to booking and in the lead up to our stay the team at Salt were so friendly and helpful and had great recommendations on local eateries and spots to visit. The grounds themselves felt like we were on a tropical holiday and our little one loved that we saw so much wildlife - including dozens of kookaburra’s, kangaroos and dolphins every day that we literally could spot from the deck! We’d highly recommend Salt to anyone. Additionally (and to anyone with severe allergies), my husband is celiac and we were also so impressed by the local takeaways, Gelateria, restaurants and cafés how aware they were and even found we had more options than where we live in Sydney - go figure!

We visited Salt with a group of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. We couldn’t have had a better experience. The villas were beautiful and had everything you could need. Great spot with a lovely view of the water from the balcony. The Taven being so close was also super convenient.
The BBQ area and facilities were perfect for our little celebration and the owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They showed us how to access the outdoor area light switch which was normally automated to turn off at a specific time and also gave us a room upgrade from a one to a two bed apartment so the group could remain together on the same wing of the venue.
And the gardens and pool area, just WOW, so stunning and beautifully manicured. The local kangaroos were also lovely and super friendly.
Would love to stay again and have already recommended this place to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Salt. Beautiful location with a lovely view of the lake. Peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin which had everything we needed, felt new (because I think it is) and the bed and couch were very comfy. It was nicely decorated with heaps of room and plenty of natural light. Need to drive to get into town/beaches but we didn't mind that because we went to the beach during the day and enjoyed sitting out on our balcony in the evenings having a drink watching the sunset.

We loved staying at SALT. The cabin was gorgeous and had everything you needed, including a very comfortable bed and pillows. The view to the lake was beautiful and very handy having the tavern next door. Communication with SALT was outstanding. We highly recommend staying here and hope to stay here again.

Salt doesn’t disappoint. Everything you see in the marketing material you get, and more! The villas are so pristine that you feel like you’re the first people to stay there. Everything you could ever need is provided. The villas have stunning views and are in a peaceful setting. We only wish we had booked more nights at Salt before moving to our next location up the coast. Congratulations to everyone involved.

This space was STUNNING! From the moment we arrived we already felt at home. With really easy self check in with a gate pin & key safe.
The villas themselves were spacious and luxurious. Very new and modern with an absolutely killer view from the deck.
We stayed for 2 nights and had 3 cabins between us. We loved it and will absolutely be back!

Very clean and neat, very well appointed. Exclusive feel with the limited number of apartments and an awesome location. Free roaming Kangaroos are cool as are the friendly Kokaburras. You wont find better quality accommodation in SWR.

Cabin's were extremely clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony, was the perfect spot for a sundowner.
Gayle went above and beyond, with a beautiful birthday surprise for my wife. Totally unexpected, but much appreciated. Haven't seen that extra touch, from a host, for a long time.

Great location. Good amenities and excellent house keeping..although there's no reception on site, they contacted us a week before arrival and on the day of arrival. They are very quick to respond on the phone. We had a great stay. We will be back.

Our stay at SALT was just beautiful! The cabins are immaculate, with everything you need. It's quiet, peaceful and serene. We had 5 nights just relaxing on the banks of the Macleay River. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Well worth a stay here.

Top spot, waterfront, next to boat ramp and Riverside Tavern. Short bike ride to the breakwater. Great resort management too. Prompt and friendly service.

Absolutely loved staying at Salt. The villa was so nice and spacious. It was also really clean. Having the river as our waterfront view was amazing too. We had dolphins swimming past everyday! It was nice to be able to swim in the pool and hire bikes that Salt have available for guests. Will definitely return.

My partner stayed the last couple of days at Salt, it was a beautiful spot, located right on the river at South West Rocks. The cabins are clean, stylish and modern. It was a lovely spot to relax, and the complex is surrounded by loads of native wildlife (such as kangaroos and Kookaburras) which was an added bonus!

We went here for a few days on our honeymoon. It was an absolutely stunning location; the villa was beautiful, clean and well appointed; pool was lovely and not too busy. And they go above and beyond for their guests - we arrived to a congratulations card, a few bottles of wine, chocolates and an assortment of petals. Such a nice touch! Thank you.

Great modern & new accomodation on the Macleay River. We stayed in a one-bedroom Villa which had all the amenities including a really nice deck overlooking the gardens & river. Loved the roaming kangaroos and the wetlands walk within the venue. The villas are an 8 min drive to town or a 40 min walk, I’d suggest taking the New Entrance Road towards the headland as it’s really scenic. We were provided with complimentary quality mountain bikes during our stay which was really nice. Thank you Gayle for the exceptional service. I’d highly recommend a stay at Salt.

We absolutely loved our stay at salt & SWR. The villas are perfectly appointed, beautifully yet simply furnished. The location is peaceful & stunning across from the river.
Management was attentive with touches like wine & the push bikes were wonderful, we filled our baskets and cycled everywhere. Kangaroos at your doorstep & dolphins across in the river, what more could you ask for...
