Notre Dame de Dinant

The grandiose church is beautiful inside and outside, it's just something about the vibe inside that makes you calm. It also has one of the biggest stained glass window that shows scenes from the Bible and it ia amazing!
Don't know anything about opening hours, doesn't write anything anywhere, we just saw someone coming out of the church so we then entered.

Notre Dame de Dinant is very spectacular, with its distinctive onion dome. I often feel a bit guilty being inside churches whilst having no religious beliefs. However we can all appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship that has gone into these buildings. I didn’t feel guilty at all here due to the number of tourists. Tourism seems to be mostly what goes on here. But it was beautiful. Well worth joining in with.

Beautiful church to go in and visit when you’re visiting Dinant! When you walk in, there is an information page about the gorgeous stained glass windows and more information about other parts of the church. Free to enter. Beautiful place to stop in and see.

Very lovely Gothic cathedral from the 13th century. It replaced the Romanesque church, which was built at the same place in the 10th century, but later collapsed. The North door is the only thing that remained from the first church.

Beautiful gothic church in a super beautiful town.
I was surprised by the real beauty of Dinant once I’ve seen it in real. Everything looks like a dream world and gives a super pleasant and cozy feeling.
The food in the area was great and especially the Chocolate from Neuhaus was incredible.
I spent there two days and wanted to stay longer - now I just have another reason of coming back again. :)

Beautiful town. Very calm place. Atmosphere is amazing. Just walking there refreshes your mind.
I will recommend to visit there if you are around Brussels

Very good energy, friendly atmosphere you can see quite organised clean and spacious place, we had a chance to listen to French catholic priest during Easter ceremony and that was very harmonious speech even if you don’t understand French ,, Notre Dame de Dinant is an amazing architectural heritage that Belgian people can be proud of , a must visit place

Beautiful place standing straight and watching over the city. This place just adds more beauty to this small town.

Just one of these stunning little cathedrals hidden away. Its location and the gorgeous inside are a must see. Glad to add this one to my list of stunning ecclesiastical architecture.

This is a beautiful church on the shore of the main river in Dinant. It's located at the foot of the mountain upon which the fortress stands. The church is very impressive from the outside and is intricately decorated from the inside. Entrance is free and you can spend a bit of time looking around.

Such a beautiful place lots to see, to go to the top of the church you pay €12 walking up the stairs or by cable cars.
The only thing i did not like is that most of the restaurants open after 4

Visited Dinant back in 2014. What a beautiful Belgian town and this church is one of the nicest I've ever seen anywhere. The views from the Fortress are magnificent

A beautiful Catholic Church. It’s best viewed from across the bridge, especially when you can see the reflection on the river.

When i visit cities with a long history i always visit the church
This one was partially ravaged by an overhanging rock in 1227 and rebuild as it stands today. Worth the visit. The attached photo has been taken from the nearby citadel.

An old church with a lot of history. Worth visiting. It's free of charge to go in.

There are 4 stunning age ancient wooden statues of Saint Hubert, Saint Lambert, Saint Maternus and Saint Perpete. St.Maternus being the founder, is depicted holding the church itself! There is also a 14th C CE sculpture of coronation of virgin which is now in semi-ruins. Another historic piece here is the baptistery doorway of the 13th C CE. This is currently in a small room to the right of the main door.

Dinant is an impressive small village and this church is a power element

The inside of the church is quite average if you, like me, are coming from a tour of Belgium. That said, it's really not bad in an absolute sense. In my opinion, the strength of this church is the outside. Both because of the imponent architecture and for the stunning location just Ander the cliff.
