Le Bal Infernal - used book café

My go to spot for a nice coffee with a good read and nice crowd. They forgot my order once and took a long time so I had to wait for more than 30 minutes but the lady was very apologetic. It does get very busy fast. But everyone has a great time. Highly recommended!

Excellent cappuccino for a reasonable price, the ambiance is wonderful. There are books and board games and the staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming.

Really nice place to just relax, read a book etc. They serve the typical coffee stuff here. Light lunch also possible. Great atmosphere.

Coffee is delicious, they have decaf and oat milk. It has such a lovely, relaxing atmosphere and lots of board to play for free... including Scrabble 😁 a must visit if you come to Ghent.

Very pleasant bar for work or a great cup of coffee during the day. In the evenings perfect for a glass of wine to relax and meeting up with friends. Fresh soup available every day! The monthly brunch on Sunday is also a success. A plus: very friendly and fast service!
Recommendation: the iced coffee with sproud milk and vanille.

Popped in for drinks, had lemonades and cocktails. All drinks were good, although lemonades seemed to lack sweetness, which is okay for summer. Quiet and cozy atmosphere.

Super nice Cafe! We went to order some coffee to go but the place was so cozy and the environment so cool that we also wanted to stayed there. This time we couldn’t but I will come back in the next days and also order some of the nice cakes we saw.

Nice and cosy ambiance. I truly recommend the cheese, it's really nice. Doesn't happen everywhere. Wine was good as well. The only thing that bothered: our empty plate stayed on the table and never got taken away. Apart from that, it's a perfect place for book lovers, and to study.

The location is amazing! A cozy and quiet café, where you can read books (and maybe afterwards buy them) while sipping a cup of great coffee. The toilet is really cool, you can spend ages reading all the posters! Lovely

Beautiful place for having coffee or tea! We sadly couldnt find many books in english tho, but it was still a nice visit just for the flair.

5 stars for atmosphere, decorations, coffee and pancakes taste. You can read one of thousands book or play a board game. Even the toilet is worth to be.
