Rocher du Hat

One of the best view points of Ardennes. We reached there totally by public transport and walking, not very convenient though. Bicycle or car recommended.

Standing on top of the rock to look over the beautiful forest with river winding around. very nice hiking trails, too. Definitely worth spending some time relaxing in the beautiful nature!
Few precautions:
1) GoogleMaps route guide was good only up to the parking. It said 5 minutes of walk after parking the car, but NO WAY, it is a good 20-30 minutes of trekking per way from the parking, depending on you fitness. GoogleMaps trajectory of the trails after the parking were just wrong and quite useless, which brings us to the next point.
2) you need to find a tiny sign of “Hat” indicating the relative little trail branching from the gravel road from the parking (the first photo). It can be easily missed and the other trail will guide you completely different part of the forest.
3) it is a 20-30 minutes/way of uphill trail to get to the rock. You don’t need full-spec hiking boots, but still better to go with a good pair of shoes. Trying it with sandals are not recommended.
4) there are more than a few trails around here, which are very nice mini-hiking. Having said that, these trails branch in many ways, making it very easy to get lost in the forest. If you are coming with children, I recommend you keep your eyes on, or children can end up getting lost while wondering in this beautiful (but can be treachery) forest. It is especially tricky on your way back from the rock to the first gravel road from the parking.

Had a lovely little walk in here. Nice view, wish we had taken snacks because there is nice picnic spots. Small parking place around the starting point.

Erg mooie wandeling! Wij hadden een kleine 3.5 KM met mooie beklimmingen en dalingen. Erg mooi uitzicht,natuur..
Wees bewust:
-Niet geschikt voor elke persoon!
-Basis condintie en mobiliteit nodig.
-mogelijk te doen met oudere kinderen, maar eerder afgeraden.

Fantatisch uitzicht punt

Mooi uitzicht met pittige wandeling :)

Een heel toffe wandeling die je brengt naar dit magische plekje in België. Buiten het prachtige uitzicht is het ook nog eens heel rustig waardoor je echt kan genieten van de natuur.

Une agréable surprise en arrivant sur le rocher du Hat!
Une vue imprenable sur la Semois, très bien indiqué vous n’aurez pas de difficulté à trouver votre chemin.
J’ai fort apprécié le silence de la nature, venant de Bruxelles vous imaginez bien que cela me fait un bien fou de retrouver la nature!
Je vous conseil de bonne chaussures et de quoi pique-niquer pour une balade sans soucis.

Boucle de +/- 5km pour une durée de 1h30⌚
Niveau facile. 🚶

Suivre la balise "triangle jaune qui peut parfois devenir un losange jaune" numéro 25.
À un moment donné il y a un carrefour avec plusieurs balises (2 triangles jaunes, un losange jaune). Suivre le triangle jaune qui va vers la gauche.
Lorsqu'on arrive sur un chemin de pierres après le rocher prendre à droite et l'on arrive au point de départ.

Cette promenade se déroule dans une forêt ombragée. 🌲🌳

Plusieurs endroits pour pour pic-niquer aux alentours. 🍴🥪
Chiens autorisés en laisse. 🐩🐶🐕
Convient pour les enfants. 👱👱‍♂
Cette promenade peut se faire à vélo. 🚲

Vue imprenable sur les méandres de la Semois, à couper le souffle. Accès pas trop difficile, chouette promenade même avec des enfants (mais sans buggy).

Geweldige plek om te bezoeken. Vanuit de top kan je alles prachtig bezien!

Très belle promenade avec un point de vue digne d'un paysage vosgien!

Mooie panorama, kleine afdaling beetje moeilijk. Geen balustrade of beveiliging. Wel prachtig uitzicht.

Endroit enchanteur, dans les bois, le long de la Semois, belles vues sur les forêts Gaumaises de Chiny.
