A great monument to bulgarian history forgotten by todays society. If you happen to be coming by do visit the place because its awesome. Just be advised the road is terrible, I went by motorcycle and nearly lost my nerves 😑

This is a monument of a great battle during Serbian-Bulgarian war. On this place Bulgarian held a great victory. Many of our ancestors payed with their lives the freedom of Bulgaria. Remember the heroes!

Eerie monument built during the communism era in Bulgaria commemorating the soldiers who died during the 1885 Serbian-Bulgarian war. Too bad the monument is left to slowly be destroyed by the weather as the government puts no effort to maintain it. It is located more than half an hour north of the capital Sofia and the road is bad.

Amazing place to visit. We have to know the people who had fought for our country. The sad thing is that it is neglected. The last 4-5 km of the road are in terrible condition. You have to know that.

Very sad place. I went there on a rainy day. It was quiet. Strangely quiet and mystic. I honestly felt cold and it was summer day in August. Later I learned that below the monument are the bones of Bulgarian and Serbian soldiers who fought there in 1885 and died. Very mystic and strange place. The highest place in the region. Definitely a spiritual place with strange energies. For sure a historical heritage but a sad atmosphere. I felt saddened after this visit.

Nice place to see. Go there when the weather is good as it can be a little windy.

Magnificent monument build in honor of very crucial battle from the war between Bulgaria and Serbia (19.11.1885).
As all stuff in Bulgaria the maintenance is missing and the monument has started to destroyed.
The road from town of Slivnitsa to the monument is in very bad conditions - November 2022. Drive carefully.

is dedicated to the very important for the young Bulgarian state war against the invaders after the unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia.

A massive pantheon dedicated to the Bulgarian soldiers who died fighting against Serbia in year 1885. The road leading to it is not very good but it is worth it to endure the bumpy ride in order to see this giant monument.

If you like abandoned places and interesting architecture - this monument is for you. Just a quick note: there are some stray dogs in the village so you have to be careful. I've been there 3 times and only on one of the trips we saw these dogs but it wasn't exactly cool experience.

Worth seeing, especially if you can read the text (in Bulgarian). The road there is not in a great condition and the stairs into the monument... could use a lot of work, but once you are inside, the monument is definitely awe-inspiring. Google the story behind it - it is very heroic and a great example of what Bulgarians can do when united and following great leaders. I only wish we had some of those leaders now.

The place is beautifull but the road to get there is full of potholes. Plan your trip accordingly!

Amasing forgotten solviet monument. I was really amased to see that it was red. I've only seen it in black and white and didn't know it was that colorful.
The place is abandoned, so you can visit it any time. Be careful, because the roads there are narrow and old.

In the middle of nowhere, but on that place of great historical value for us as bulgarians, it would be good to preserve the memorial and remember the glory.

There is something there. A spirit of the brave soldiers lost their lives to a great cause. There are so much history there... go and feel it.
