Dryanovo monastery "St. Archangel Michael"

Incredibly beautiful cultural place to visit if you’re in the Gabrovo region, so much history but you can feel how peaceful it is. Definitely worth spending the day there!

Perfect place to gather both your thoughts (at the monastery) and also your strength (at the nearby restaurant) in a picturesque natural setting.
Bonus: there is a local sweets/ tea/ spices shop inside, if you want to get a delicious souvenir back with you.

We booked for a three person room and it was very comfortable. The room was cleaned. We had air-conditioner, warm water (well you have to wait for a few minutes to wait for the water to become warmer).

Gorgeous place. Little monastery and church with very nice and helpful priests. There are two restaurants around, great nature, a very old cave and lovely path for a walk. If you like home made sweets or jams, visit the cosy shops in the area - everything is authentic and tastes great.

A gorgeous Monastery in a stunning canyon, with beautiful old buildings, a great cafe, and nature trails for all abilities.

Good price central parking, souvenirs and crafts to buy, and tasty spring water. We'll worth a day out in any season or weather.

Lovely place. The Monastery has great history (go and find it yourself) and is such a spiritual place.

Ok for a few hours visit while you're in the Veliko Tarnovo area, there's a cave nearby also.

An outstanding and beautiful monastery, easily accessible from Veliko Tarnovo. Both the monastery and its surroundings are worthwhile a visit. You can easily spend a day exploring the old monastery buildings and their surroundings. If you are spending a few days in nearby Veliko Tarnovo, you should certainly come coming here

The Monastery itself is quite small, but clean and beautiful and with many souvenir shops around it. There's parking in front of it and many path leading to the forest, the waterfall nearby, some ruins and a to a great viewpoint. You can easily spend a couple of hours around the church.

Very pretty and serene place. Cross the bridge behind, it’s a good spot for pictures. The restaurant behind is good too. I’m happy we stopped here.

Very nice place in between the hills. Nice area around the monastery and the overlaying cave are great sightseeings... for those who like climbing, the eco paths around are the perfect finish of the day trip to Drjanowo Monastery with an amazing view from the top.

This is a piece of Bulgarian history. Deep in the mountain some 15-20 minutes drive from Veliko Tarnovo lies the monastery which preserved the Bulgarian soul and pride during the Turkey occupation back in time. The church is built in 1845 and is opened in the 1-st of September in the same year. Now there is a parking nearby and a traditional restaurant (MechanA) where you canhave tasty bulgarian food. A place with a soul that empowers you .

A well hidden secret, a place worth visiting.... a good chance to distance from the World, in both aspects- spiritual and physical - you can enjoy good hiking or a walk in a rather deep cave near by, too!
