Unfortunately, it wasn't possible for me and the other visitors to see the prehistoric paintings. Access to these prehistoric paintings is restricted in order for them to be preserved. You can only see images of the paintings. The cave is 3 kilometers long and the temperature inside is different in different places. In some places the temperature was 12 degrees, while in others it was between 8 and 5 degrees. So make sure you have proper clothing and wear proper footwear as the surface is very slippery. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, it was very disappointing to learn that there's no tour guide for English speakers. Such a shame. Having a tour guide who speaks English can attract more tourists. The tour lasts about an hour. After the tour has finished, you can either walk to the car park or catch the train ride, which is 2 leva per person.

The ticket fee is 12 leva per person. There's a small car park where you can pay to park your car.

The last tour is at 16:30.

I loved the tour. It is about an hour. The cave is kid-friendly. The exit is about 2 km away from the entrance and there is a touristic train to return you for 2 lv per person but it has only 12 seats. Definitely worth the visit.

It’s difficult to capture the vastness of the cave with pictures, but it’s very large and impressive. The lighting makes it even more beautiful with LED lights marking the path in some areas. The guide spoke in Bulgarian, someone from our group translated. It’s a bit slippery, so have good shoes on and hold onto the railing. And it’s pretty cold, even when you’re walking, so bring a coat or sweater even in summer. You can see bats as well. The only downside was that the actual paintings weren’t open to the public, we only saw photos of the paintings. There’s a gift shop at he beginning only and a snack shop at the end. When you get leave the cave there’s a train can take you back close the the beginning again, but it doesn’t always run, so check beforehand. Otherwise you have to walk back to the starting points

Too bad that the prehistoric drawings are forbidden to visit now (because human breath can destroy them). Yet, the cave still worths a visit, as it is really spectacular!!!
Current price for entry August 2023: 12 bgn
There is a trolley on the exit, which you can take, for additional 2 bgn (paid, when buying the entrance ticket). Recommend it, as the distance is not small and if it is too hot it won't be nice for walkings!
Entrance to the cave is on every round hour, you should be there at least 10 minutes before it.
There is a parking bellow the entrance, 2-3 mins away

Probably the longest session of all of the caves that I have visited. Around 1.5km inside the cave = awesome. Inside the cave , the temp drops to 5 degrees and also prepare with good shoes , because it is very slippery. The cave is great , sad that vandals have tagged themselves.. Suitable for families with kids. Nevertheless, 5/5

The largest cave in the Balkan mountains. It's impressive. You have a parking lot near the entrance. I spent about 40 minutes. You have to get back to the car in about 20 minutes if you take the small train, if available. You can admire prehistoric murals in the dome. Unfortunately it was closed so we only admired a few copies of this paintings. Access to the area of the paintings is restricted to preserve them.

The Magura Cave in Bulgaria is not only a stunning natural wonder, but also an incredible piece of history.
This underground cavern is so large that it's actually considered a cave system! The walls are covered with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over hundreds of thousands of years. The air inside the cave system is cool and refreshing, and the sound of water echoing throughout the chambers creates a meditative atmosphere.
The cave is also home to bats, crickets, and beetles, which add to the natural beauty of the cave.
Overall, the Magura Cave in Bulgaria is a must-see for anyone who loves adventure and breathtaking natural wonders. The cave system is not only a natural masterpiece, but it's also a window into the country's past, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The cave is really impressive. Considering that the caves are not in my interests I can say that its definitely amazing. Very big, so if you are claustrophobic this wont be a problem. The cave is having so much history. Our guide was very informative and helpful. However, next time he could skip a little bit the jokes and to proceed more with facts and info for the place.

Very big and beautiful place. Be aware there is NO ENGLISH GUIDE. You will be finishing the cave visit faraway from the entrance, if you want to get bact to the parking lot, HAVE CASH to pay the transportation which is not included in the entrance price. Otherwise be prepared to walk 20 minutes.

Nice experience, beautiful cave. You should know they have not an option for paying with credit card or euros. The cave exit is at 1 km from the starting point, you need levas, too, if you want to return with an amusement train.
The guide is speaking only bulgarian, but you can buy an audio guide at the entrance.
You can also buy a combined ticket for the Belogradchik Fortress and the cave at the first mentioned.
Five stars for the site, only 3 for the lack of a foreign language and another system of pay.

Very big cave. Must be visited. You can park at the paid parking, but also is possible on the banket along the road. The cave is one of the largest in Europe, but unfortunately suffered a lot from the post communist lawless times. There are ancient cave drawings, which are unfortunately closed for visitors. The cave is suitable to visit with kids, but be aware that the tour is 1,5 - 2 hours long. The guide presentation is very interesting and funny. Take a warm jacket with you if you plan to visit the cave during the summer.

Fantastic place! The tour guide was very informative. There's a lot to see there. A tour will normally take about an hour. Be sure to bring extra clothing if you visit during warm days, inside the temperature is below 12 down to 5 degrees. After the end of the tour be prepared for a short walk, about 2km, back to the parking lot.

Breathtaking cave, impressive and unique. A must see. Don't forget to take your jackets and put on hikers shoes, because it's quite slippery inside. Also find a friend to wait for you at the exit point or prepare to walk 1.5 miles back to the parking lot, where you left your car.

Probably the most amazing cave in Bulgaria. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and cool. Make sure you wear shoes with a good grip, could be slippery.

A beautiful and special place from prehistoric times. Knowledgeable and friendly guide pointed out a variety of figures shaped by thousands of years of water works, now resembling little houses, bee hives, cities, animals and even human features.

Archaelogiests found skeletons of cave lions, cave bears and human bones from an ancient burial site.

20 meter stalacton (connecting a top to bottom stalactite and stalagmite) and a fallen giant 11 meter stalagmite were some of the more impressive formations.

Group tour lasted about and hour. Then we walked another 20 minutes back to the parking lot, enjoying the lake views by the side of the road.

The biggest cave In Bulgaria. Amazing views, colours and shadows all around you. The Magura Cave must be top prior to visit when it comes to cave track and hike.
