A very interesting cave to visit. It's primarily known for its "Gods eyes" on the ceiling. There are climbing routes on the walls too. The parking is very close to the cave and its location is near the main road. There is an exit on the other end of the mountain where a small path starts, if you follow it, you can climb the rocks and have a beautiful view of the valley.

Amazing place! The cave itself is amazing, but don't skip the eco trail for the Medieval rock church “Saint Marina”. The path continues after the cave and it's really worth it! It's ok for dogs, but bring water.

It’s a short 5-10 mins walk from the free carpark to the entrance of the cave. The cave itself is quite big and the pair of ‘eye’ is great for photography. Definitely worth a visit.

This cave is a true gem and a must see. The parking is near it and there are many people selling souvenirs on your way to the entrance.

It was the first time that I ever went to an open cave, and it was a good experience as a first-timer. The place is easily accessible and there were plenty of places where to park the car. There are people selling certain things from the area, and I recommend you to have cash with you. I received it as a recommendation from a friend.

Accessible; imposing with its magnitude; offering short yet gratifying walks towards more breath-taking views upon itself, the Iskar river and the surrounding landscape.

Prohodna Cave, located in northern Bulgaria, is a natural wonder known for its unique geological features and captivating beauty. This stunning cave is renowned for its two impressive eye-shaped entrances, which have earned it the nickname "The Eyes of God." Visitors can explore the cavernous interior of Prohodna, admiring the natural skylights formed by the openings above and the dramatic rock formations within. One of the highlights of the cave is the "God's Eye" phenomenon, where sunlight filters through the openings to create the illusion of giant eyes gazing down from above. Prohodna, a magnificent and expansive karst cave, presents a unique opportunity for exploration in Bulgaria. This natural wonder is open around the clock and offers free entry, making it an accessible and inviting destination for visitors.

Situated in the heart of north central Bulgaria, Prohodna lies within the Iskar Gorge, close to the village of Karlukovo in the Lukovit Municipality of Lovech Province. The cave's most striking feature is the pair of eye-like openings in its ceiling, aptly named "God's Eyes." These natural formations give the cave an almost mystical aura, attracting both casual tourists and nature enthusiasts alike.

The cave's location in the picturesque Iskar Gorge adds to its allure, with the surrounding landscape offering a blend of rugged beauty and serene tranquility. The accessibility of Prohodna, combined with its distinctive geological features, makes it a must-visit for those seeking to experience Bulgaria's natural beauty.

Visitors to Prohodna are treated to a unique spectacle as they gaze upon the "God's Eyes," which seem to watch over the cave and its explorers. This remarkable feature, along with the cave's vastness and the beauty of its natural setting, makes Prohodna a captivating and memorable destination in Bulgaria.

This is stunning place in Bulgaria, must see. It is free of charge to enter, so is the parking. Outside can found stalls with some traditional Bulgarians items for sale.
Inside the cave has interesting views and opportunity for photographs.
Unfortunately not suitable for people who cannot walk very well.
Definitely worth the trip!

It is incredible to think that this cave has been inhabited since the Neolithic period / Stone Age. On top of that the God's eye formation is truly magnificent!

It is open for visitors and no tickets are required. The terrain is not difficult. The entrance seems to be a popular spot among climbers.

Amazing experience, but we had to walk and for elderly it will be a bit difficult going down to the cave. Nature will always amaze me everyday. Look up to see God's eyes

The entrance to the parking area can be easily missed - it is near the stone house and marked with a large wooden signpost. The cave itself is amazing, but don't expect any facilities beyond the friendly and hardworking folks who have stalls on the way to the entrance selling snacks drinks and souvenirs. Great experience and well recommended!

The cave is a natural 262 m long rock bridge.
Prohodna Cave is naturally lit thanks to its large entrances and cave holes – natural holes on the ceiling. These cave holes are precisely what makes the cave unique. Situated next to each other and having similar almond-shaped forms, the cave holes bear striking resemblance to giant eyes that seem as if they are staring at the visitors. It is not by chance that local people sometimes refer to them as The Eyes of God. Seen from a specific angle, they even resemble a face that looks down, and when it is wet it seems as if they are “crying”. People who witness this natural phenomenon are astonished and a little excited – the incredible symmetry and location of the cave holes fill one with awe and a sense of mystique. The cave was declared a natural landmark in 1962.

This is the best cave experience I had so far. It is truly breathing how the nature sculpted it. There is always visitors so do plan to spend some time there to see everything. It is free to enter abd quite safe. Ideal for a visit without experience or equipment. If you want to continue to Saint Marina stone church/monastery you need experience in hiking and proper shoes as it is a bit harder. I didn't go due to my fear of steep terrain and downhills. But if you like adventure do continue. After exploring the cave.

Wow, amazing cave. It is a bit chill in there, so bring yourself something warm if you are visiting it in the early Spring or late Fall. You can find souvenir dealers at the entrance. It height of the cave is enormous. We really liked it. After exiting it, there are signs for Rock Monastery. I recommend following them. You'll reach the river and climb the hill on your right there is a great view from top of it.
