My husband and I dined here last night and loved every moment of our experience. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu with Bolivian wine pairing and adored every mouthful.

The flavours of each dish were so incredibly well balanced. Standouts include the artichoke on vegetable sauce, mushroom ceviche and rib eye main (the accompanying grilled vegetables were divine). Each dish was paired perfectly with a wine or in some cases a cocktail and even vermouth. Would dine here again in a heartbeat!

The service was also impeccable. Totally casual and relaxed but somehow still a fine dining experience.

We took the experience menu which consisted of 7 dishes and one appetizer. We were pleasently surprised, the quality of the food was way beyond our expectations and for a good price. The staff is very friendly and did everything to make it to our liking, we will come back soon!

Ancestral is one of La Paz's best restaurants. It is part of Latin America's 100 best restaurants. They specialize in grilled meats and vegetables as well as Bolivian ingredients. They have amazing cuts, cocktails and desserts. Strongly recommended!

We went with the 5 course tasting and drinks pairing and everything was 10/10. Food was unbelievable. Our waiter was amazing and the chef even came to our table at the end of the night. A wonderful dining experience!

Hands down the best service you will receive in Boliva if you are lucky enough to get the manager Pablo as your server.
We ordered almost the entire menu and pretty much everything was good. Trout dish was a little unbalanced with not enough sauce for the starchy potatoes (the sauces were delicious and trout beautifully cooked). Great cocktails & amazing wine paring recommendations. We ordered the short rib and sadly it was so tough we could hardly cut through it. We didn’t eat it, but ordered the ribeye instead and it was delicious. Highlight of the meal was the artichoke dish so make sure to order that. The snap peas with Bolivian chili crisp were surprisingly good. The chirimoya desert is sure to impress you.
Chef Sebastian was kind enough to give us a tour of the kitchen space and tell us about the history of the restaurant. Very awesome to see the amazing things the young owners are doing here and I’m sure it will only get even better with time. Thanks again for the great food and next level hospitality! Best dining experience we had in La Paz (better than Gustu 👀)

Amazing. Fantastic food, great Bolivian wines, and the best service we’ve had in Bolivia. The staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. I highly recommend the tasting menu for getting a taste of the various excellent dishes. And if you’re interested in wines, speak to Pablo.

The chuleton is a great option if you love steak

We took the 8 course menu with wine pairing and it was amazing!!! All the dishes was awesome and the waitress was super nice and speak very good English the chef came to talks with us and was super friendly and we add really great time. Recommend for anyone at la Paz to eat at this place.

Worth every penny and then some! They've definitely earned their reputation as one of the best restaurants in Bolivia and not just because of the food but the whole experience (staff was the nicest we've ever encountered). Will definitely be going back to La Paz with Ancestral as our main reason.
