Banjo Tours

We booked a 3D/2N private tour with Banjo for Uyuni Salt Flats that started in San Pedro de Atacama Chile and ended in La Paz Bolivia. Since we did not know much Spanish, we also hired an English speaking guide from Banjo.

The car we got was clearly superior to the other tours we saw along the way and felt very safe and in great condition. Our driver Zenon was always in control and made us very comfortable. He really worked hard to arrange all the activities. Our guide Wenceslao was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He also clicked great pictures of us. Together, they ensured we had a memorable experience.

We had requested for vegetarian and vegan food and they were able to accommodate this for us, which is really appreciated. The stay in a salt hotel was fabulous and is not to be missed.

We also noticed that not all tour operators provide boots for walking in the salt flats, but Banjo does. They also carry oxygen in case one of us needed it for breathing at 15,000 ft.

All in all, I would really recommend booking the Uyuni Salt flats tour with Banjo!

Banjo should be applauded for the standard of our tour - La Paz to Uyuni 6 day tour. In remote landscapes we saw archeological sites and stunning landscapes. The accommodation was as good as you can get out in the middle of the Sajama NP. It was quaint and friendly and run by the locals with money for the village. Then the epitome of luxury awaited us at Salar de Uyuni. Food, the guide and the driver, plus the car quality were wonderful. I would recommend this trip to other people who like to see remote areas with stunning views.

We booked Banjo tours from USA when we wanted to travel to Bolivia. We picked the 2D/1N Sajama National Park itinerary. We got best worth of our money. Our guide Rennane and driver Javier were an absolute delight. They were very accomodative and helpful. They answered our questions and made our ride so smooth. We would explore the things we care about at a pace we feel comfortable. They would go above and beyond. We highly recommend them if you plan to come to Bolivia, Banjo tours is a must.

We had an amazing 3 days tour in Sajama with Banjo Tours, and especially thanks to our guide Ruben. The trip itself is full of wonderful views, great hikes, bath in hot springs volcanoes that look like postcards, and sleeping in a great hostel in the middle of the parc. And most of all, we were out of the croud of La Paz or Uyuni, all alone in this area of wonders.
But in this tour, what is to mention is the professionalism, the kindness, and the passion that comes out of Ruben, who made our three days unforgettable. Thanks a lot ! Hope to come back to Bolivia for another one !

Booking a custom tour through banjo was phenomenal! Our guide Renan was incredibly knowledgeable, and my best friend and I felt very well taken care of as we traveled through some more remote parts of Bolivia. We can’t imagine booking with anyone else and highly recommend booking anything you might need through banjo. It felt especially good to know banjo takes care of their employees and our tourism was supporting Bolivian people within the country, rather than booking through a non Bolivian business.

I highly recommend Banjo!! We travelled with them on the 5-day La Paz to Uyuni (via Sajama) tour in Bolivia in September 2022. We LOVED everything about it. Our driver Zenon was the best! He was great company, paid attention to detail and the itinerary was amazing. Zenon's 4WD was in neat condition and he is a great offroad driver. When we provided our preliminary schedule and requests to Benjamin Montevilla, owner of the company and the Chief Experience Designer, Benj is very familiar w/American tourists and provided a lot of valuable advice and suggestions on it. The tour schedule turned out perfectly fit our time frame and cost budget.

My husband and I took a 5-night,6 days tour from La Paz to Uyuni through the Sajama National Park and were so impressed by the amazing Bolivian nature and the excellent services that Banjo Tours provided.

Our English-Speaking guide Renan and our driver Zenòn gave us an experience that we couldn’t forget from the beginning. They organized everything down to the last detail and made our trip INCREDIBLE. Renan has shared a lot of Bolivian history, transportation, and local everyday life. He answered our questions about the country informatively and enthusiastically. We were on everything from major highways to off-roading to unmarked dirt roads, from lagoons and volcanos to the salt flats. Our driver Zenòn is an exceptionally experienced driver, calm and safe, and not rushed like the other cars on the road. We were so comfortable sleeping in his Toyota land Cruiser and not worrying about anything. We like all the picnics that we had for lunch. The food is warm and beautifully presented on a pop-up table in the middle of nowhere. We even had a chance to have an indoor lunch in a local grocery shop with a nice table setting. In addition, Zenòn was so experienced to find the watery salt flats that we took incredible pictures while the other tour drivers did not. He also prepared rain boots for us so that we can actually walk on the watery flats to get pictures of the reflections of the sky in this dry season. Renan took pictures/videos anywhere requested, usually offering before asked with an idea for a great shot. Together, we had a great time and became good friends at the end of the trip.
To put a long writing short, I’d like to say You can’t go wrong with Banjo for your Bolivian experience. Their reasonable price and excellent service and trips made our Bolivian trip one of the best trips that we ever had. Well worth every penny.

We did the 5-day tour from Uyuni to Sajama (-> La Paz) and it was an outstanding experience. Banjo Tours took care of every need - we just had to enjoy the landscape. They are an extremely reliable, safe, and professional tour operator. Our guides were very friendly and the car was well-suited for the tour. Everybody also made a great effort to provide vegetarian dishes for me, which were fresh, varied, and really good!
Of course, during winter hotel rooms are going to be very cold, but this is part of the adventure.

We absolutely loved the tour. The scenery was spectacular and incredibly varied, and it goes without saying that it was amazing to visit the salt flats - one of the best sunsets we’ve ever seen.
Our guide, Renan, was charming, funny and very friendly. He spoke excellent English and looked after us wonderfully over the 4 days. He was also very knowledgable about the landscape and it’s wildlife, as well as Bolivian and South American history and culture.
We sadly had to change drivers part way due to unforeseen circumstances, but the switch was handled seamlessly and both Elmer and Freddy were highly capable and extremely helpful and friendly. Thanks so much Renan, Elmer and Freddy!

We had an amazing time with our guide Zenon on a three day tour from the Chilean border to Uyuni. Views of altiplanic lakes were spectacular and the private tour allowed us to go at our own pace given the high altitude. We learnt so much about Bolivia in those three days, and really appreciated the efforts Zenon went to in order to make experience extra special - he set up the best picnics, is an expert photographer, and brought amazing home cooked meals from his wife Cristina!

We did a five day tour from La Paz through the Salar de uyuni to the border with Chile and it was one of the best experiences of our lives because of Banjo. Very highly recommended.

Legit tour operator, prices are a bit high; but everything was arranged perfectly. This was for a Sajama/Uyuni 3 day Tour. Would recommend!

What an brilliant view

Definitvamente el mejor fin de semana de nuestras vidas.
Tomamos un tour privado de 3 días, el primer día en Salar de Uyuni, el segundo en las lagunas "joyas altoandinas" y el día final en la Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Avaroa.
Zenón fue nuestro guía y conductor, la pasamos increíble con él, es EL MEJOR, ponía música buenísimaaaaa, nos hizo fotos espectaculares, conducía MUY bien y nos daba oportunidad de parar a hacer fotos en los mejores lugares.
Los hospedajes fueron los mejores hoteles en la región (Palacio de Sal, Tayka del Desierto) nos fascinaron.
El transporte super seguro y equipado hasta con internet.
La comida preparada por Cristina fue deeeeeeeliciosa, incluso nos enviaron comida vegetariana como lo solicitamos.
También nos ayudaron con el transfer desde Bolivia hasta Chile :D
La planeación y comunicación con Benjamín fue sorprendente, muy buena información, completa y detallada, siempre con afán de ayudar en todo.
Lo mejor de lo mejor fue el atardecer en el Salar de Uyuni, definitivamente los recomendaré a todos y guardaré estos momentos como los mejores de mi vida.

Hemos hecho un tour de 2 dias en el parque nacional Sajama con Banjo Tours y todo fue perfecto ! Agradecemos especialmente a Ruben, nuestro guia, quien a demas de tener una conduccion muy segura, nos enseño muchas cosas del Sajama y de Bolivia en general. Hicimos el viaje de La Paz - Uyuni 5D/4N Standard via Sajama. Aunque pueda parecer algo caro, nuestra experiencia fue fantástica. Se trata de un recorrido único por el altiplano boliviano, el cual nunca podríamos haber realizado por nuestra cuenta. Nuestro chófer fue Elmer, quien tenía un dominio de los caminos impresionante, y quien fue muy ameno y educado durante todo el itinerario. La calidad de los hostales donde nos alojamos es mediocre, sin llegar a tener agua caliente en la mitad de los mismos. La comida fue buena en todas las ocasiones, destacando los almuerzos que preparó Elmer en el camino. En definitiva, se trata de una experiencia irrepetible, en la cual hemos podido visitar lugares increíbles del altiplano boliviano, por lo que creemos que merece la pena a pesar de la baja calidad de los hostales y del elevado precio.
