I just want to take the time to review our experience with Liz Wegman as our realtor. We could not have made a better choice. This was not an easy transaction as we were from the US and our sellers were from France. There were many issues that came up with funding the escrow, exchanging currencies and so much more like transactions needing take place legally in Costa Rica, the US and France. Not to mention language barriers. Liz was so patient yet made sure it all kept moving as quickly as possible. If you want an agent that will take care of you, get it all right when it comes to the transactions needed and recommending stellar professional people like our lawyer then Liz is 100% your go to. She was so easy to work with and I can’t say enough. Sorry this is so long. Pick Liz you won’t be sorry.

We were incredibly happy with our experience with Nick and the entire Caldwell Banker team. From our first contact with Nick after an exploratory email, through 2 trips from the US to look at properties, and while navigating us through various problems closing the house, Nick was always attentive, professional, patient, knowledgeable, and could solve every problem. The title company he referred us to discovered several issues which could have caused huge long-term prolbems for us and led us through the many steps needed to solve these problems. More importantly, after the sale, he and his team continued to be our advocates and problem-solvers, as they suggested architects, property managment companies, and other professionals, and they actually accompanied us to set up utiliteis and bank accounts. We worked with Nick over the course of about a year and a half, culminating in the purchase of a home near Playa Carrillo. We first met Nick in late 2021 after getting a very positive recommendation for him, and started looking at properties together that December. We kept in touch throughout 2022, and when we returned to the Sámara area in 2023 resumed our search with him, leading up to our closing on a home and still continuing as he has been helping us on a few after-purchase details. Nick has been extremely conscientious, knowledgable, proactive and honest throughout this entire process. We just purchased a place in Samara. This was our first time purchasing international and purchasing remotely. We have used many Realtors over the years and feel very lucky to meet Bryan Medrano as our Realtor. He was was the most human Realtor we could have asked for. Just a wonderful experience! I was very nervous buying a property in a different country from where I live. Bryan handled all of the details for me and communicated every step. Lawyers, corporation, inspection, surveys among other things. He also set me up with contractors and helped to find me furnishings. Bryan was very transparent and communitive during the entire process and informed me that he would be my concierge after the sale. He was WONDERFUL!! He helped me get utilities changed, open a bank account, and is still following up after the sale to help me settle in to my wonderful new home. We were so lucky finding Nick! We were looking online at another house and he was the listing agent. He was so responsive and informative! We planned our trip down and not only did he have the one house that we inquired about, but several others that met what we were looking for. Making a purchase from another country is not only stressful but difficult to do as the requirements are very different from what we are accustomed to. And, or course navigating these requirements without speaking the language makes it all that more difficult.
