Dava's Restaurant

This was our first official touristy stop on the way to the hotel in Costa Rica. OMG is the food amazing. We had beans and chips then the Castilla BBQ. It up on the hill over looking highway 27, just after the toll booth coming from San Jose. The chef is a wonderful woman and her husband owns the truck repair shop next to it. Wonderful food and wonderful people.

This place has fantastic food. The chef is very friendly and kind and makes you feel very welcome. We had the ribs and peruvian rice. It is definitely worth stopping by for a meal!

Don't let the truckers stop appearance of the place scare you away. A really good chef just moved into this location as is in the process od redoing it.
There is a substantial noise from thw highway but once you get over it, you will have one of the best meals in costa rica.
I had grilled prawns with Peruvian sauce and vegetables. The aroma, taste and presentation changed my negative opinion about food in Costa Rica.
It was followed by a great in-house cheesecake.
At the end of the meal we had a taste of roasted pork (ribs?) With skin so crispy and flavour so heavenly that it rivalled one we had in a Michelin rated place.
Absolutely worth visiting.
Note that it is located on a toll highway going west and if you are going in the opposite direction you have to first go the the next exit and turn around.

Everything was delicious and the service was the best. The cook Vicky is very attentive and made sure everyone was happy with their plates. We were a group of 8 people.

Amazing location on route to our next stay. The ceviche was the best I’ve ever had and the service was superb! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food, nice ambiance and super accommodating people. Mucho gracias!!!
