Global Medical Urgent Care/Consultorio Médico Monteverde

I arrived to global clinic at Monteverde with throat problems which I carried for a long time. The doctor and his assistant were really helpful and professional. I didn’t wait at all to see the doctor, he did all the necessary checks and tests before he gave me a diagnosis. I received immediate treatment which made me feel better immediately. The doctor only spoke Spanish so his lovely assistant was with me in the room and translated for both sides sentence by sentence.
They even asked me to come back a few days later for a check to see my condition and didn’t charge extra money for that.
The services are a little bit expensive (if you have insurance there’s no worry, they will even call the insurance company for you) but defenetly worth the money! Best treatment I got in all south and Central America. Thank you!

All of the staff at Global Medical Urgent Care were so kind and very professional in the way they treated me. Even though I didn't speak Spanish, I was well taken care of by means of a paramedic who acted as translator. The doctor was very thorough and professional, and the receptionist, who also spoke English, provided me with a well detailed report and invoices for insurance purposes. I would highly recommend their services if you happen to need medical care.

On April 2nd I suffered a terrible fall while hiking to the cloud forest in Monte Verde. I suffered an upper lip laceration, face and left knee contusions. I was blessed to have asked to be taken to a private clinic since it was the Global Medical Urgent Care. The people there were fantastic. The doctor. Yazdany Santamaria Porras, was there for me right away. He made sure I was comfortable while he assessed my injuries. He was quick to realized my lip laceration needed plastic surgery. His team of paramedic Luis Diego Vargas Ramirez and Jennifer Duran Reyes were swift to start my transfer to San José. They were able to activate my USA insurance (Blue cross-Blue shield) and as a result I was able to be medevac right away. I was gladly surprised to receive a call from Jennifer a couple of days after arriving home from Costa Rica. I did not think they would remember my case, but they did. The people at this clinic are great human beings and treat their patients the same way. They kept me informed of my care at all times. I pray and hope that in the near future they are able to get the equipment necessary to be able take care of major emergencies without having to transport their patients. 4 days ago my boyfriend and I went on a canopy tour and had an accident. I was in a lot of pain so they t ook is to the clinic. Everyone was so nice to us and very important they had the necessary medical knowledge. The same day they arranged everything to get me to a clinic in San Jose by ambulance so they could get X rays and everything I needed. The same night we found out that i had 3 broken ribs, the Doc was very right!!!! We are thankfull to the staff of handling everything so very well. Of anything happends to you go there you will be in good hands!!!!

The day after I arrived in Costa Rica from Canada I feel ill. Although we had a small language barrier between us, the staff did everything they could to get me what I needed! The facility was very similar to what I’ve experienced at home, friendly, safe and clean. I’m very thankful for the help I received!

We were so pleased and happy to have been directed to this local medical post.
The way the doctors and staff took care of us was exemplary and they made sure our mind was set at ease, mind you , our youngest daughter was taken ill in a country half way across the planet in a country which we visited for the first time.
If you ever land in such a situation hope and pray you find yourself in a place like the GMUC.

Prompt service, very professional. Similar care as back in Canada. Detailed bill and assessment provided for insurance. Would highly recommend. Disregard the one negative review, it is not accurate.

Comenzaba mi viaje de Luna de Miel y empece a sentir malestar; una infeccion en las vias urinarias estuvo a punto de estropear mi viaje, pero llegue a esta clinica y me atendieron muy bien y me mandaron el tratamiento medico adecuado para aliviar el malestar, fueron muy amables y ademas me revisaron todo, Ritmo Cardiaco, Presion, Temperatura, etc. Ademas de hacerme preguntas de rutina generales y asegurar que no estuviera enferma de otra cosa; me dieron indicaciones de donde podia encontrar las medicinas y me senti muy bien el resto del viaje y pude llegar a casa a atenderme con mi medico particular, todo salio muy bien

La atención médica a nuestra hija fue excelente, gracias Carolina y Diego por curar la afección gastrointestinal a Violeta de forma tan efectiva y profesional. La atención administrativa también fue perfecta, Jennifer solucionó todo el papeleo del seguro médico contratado en España. 100% recomendable. Estamos muy agradecidos a todo el personal por habernos ayudado y atendido tan fabulosamente bien.

Super service, personnel très gentil. Ils vous suivent tout au long de votre séjour même si vous avez quitté Monteverde ! C’est vraiment rassurant et agréable :)
