When in Costa Rica eat at Sodas. Small family run place with great service. Slow braised beef stew with rice, beans, salad, root veg stew is very good value at $8. You will be in and out in 30-40mins so not something for a romantic long meal or drawn out dining experience but if you want healthy, hearty, home cooked, fresh food with soup for decent price. Head here. Only marked 3* for atmosphere as the lights are bright and no ambient music.

not the chepest soda we saw with prices about double- but an amazing place to eat!!! authentic casado, giant empanadas, the best tortilla soup i have had in years. :)

Huge portions, good food

Very good and fast service. Tasty dishes at reasonable prices. About 7000 colones pp for a main dish plus desert. Convenient location near the center of town. Cash only, but a cajero automatico is a 2 minute walk away.

We have been in this Place twice because we Really liked the Food and the Service! We have been told from the beginning that the 23% taxes Are Not included in the prices, so no problem at all. We had some extra wishes (because I am a vegetarian) and it was no Problem at all. All nice and Friendly, like almost every Tico I met so far.

Stopped in here for lunch. Food was delicious, prepared quickly, and prices were the best I’ve experienced in Monteverde! Service was great too. Overall an amazing find - highly recommend.

The best food and very good attention, the boy and girl who served us are very special, always waiting for you and asking how the food is, the vegetables, bread, everything was fresh, to finish they give a small dessert free.
