The burger, fries, and shake were all so great! All of it exceeded my expectations. The bun was also nice and soft. Super friendly staff also. Definitely plan to return.

Sandwiches, burgers and milkshakes were excellent. Staff was delightful. One thing I would change is the fry recipe, it’s pretty bad (they look great, but are hard (not in a good way), have a terrible texture and taste like they were coated in MSG. For $5, they should be good, but this is an easy fix.

Soak cut potatoes in water to remove starch, upon ordering you can cook them fresh, but there’s ways to speed up the cook time as well. Just use regular salt to season - people will feel better after eating them.

Consistent, good quick food- made with quality ingredients! The closest thing that you’ll get to an American hamburger- with all the toppings- including pickles, which you don’t usually get in CR! They also have some of the best french fries in town!

The new owners have made some great improvements to the dining area, which is clean and inviting! Always greeted by smiling staff.

Oh and they even have a burger salad now!

I had the bbq bacon cheeseburger, protein style. 💕All thumbs up 💯 One of the best burgers Ive had in Costa Rica. Gabriel and Marvin were helpful and also had great info on Uvita! We ordered french fries and onion rings for the table. The rings were thin, crispy, well seasoned hay stack style. And the french fries were steak cut, excellent seasoning as well. Cooked to perfection 🔥 Highly recommend

We don’t miss home, but 5 MAEs certainly scratches the burger itch. Reallly freaking good!!!

Burgers are large, prepared as you order and great quality.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The place itself is rather small, so I guess it can be busy at times, we were the only customers when we stopped there though.
I'll be visiting again next time I'm around Uvita!

I have been here several times in the last 6 months. They are the best burgers I have found in CR and they are not far off Five Guys. Last night I had the chicken sandwich. It was a huge pc of super juicy chicken. Fries are some of the best I have had anywhere! Will definitely be back!

I am from Canada but have travelled to many countries around the world over the last 20 years. One thing that is very hard to find outside North America is a good quality hamburger. I have to say that Five Maes is by far the best hamburger I’ve throughout my travels outside North America. The food was so good that during our trip to Uvita we went back multiple times and tried the chicken burger, wings, and every meal had a shake, fries or onion rings. You can even get poutine and if you are Canadian it’s a great treat to find outside Canada! Everything I had was great! Food is high quality, the team working there were extremely friendly and helpful, menu was in both English and Spanish and the people working there spoke English and Spanish as well. Made ordering easy, food was a very good price especially for the quality and quantity (if you’ve spent in CR in touristy spots you know things aren’t cheap). If anyone is heading to the Uvita area I would definitely add this on your must try food places if you like a North American inspired burger, wings, and shake restaurant!

Good option if you want to eat something quick and different from the typical costarican/seafood option.

Its my 2nd week in costarica and i just wanted a burger finally. It was pretty good, exactly what i needed.

In the sidenote, its surprising me that its possible to copy another brand (five guys) this much with colors, logo, design etc without any consequences but well this is not my issue, i would return next time also :)

I love the onion strings so much, I dream about them! The burger I had hit the spot and I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu! Great spot!

Best place to get a great burger! Had a BBQ Bacon cheeseburger and if it wasn’t for me being absolutely filled up I would’ve gladly had a second one. Had a little chat with the guys and they were super friendly too. Would recommend 10/10!

Great burgers and sides! We love how juicy the burgers are and all the toppings are fresh and plentiful. We recommend the onion strings and double barbecue cheeseburger.

Very clean. Great service. You get all the culture there. Costa Rican service and american style food. Kevin and jose were awesome. Carly the owner is awesome as well. All in all they made it a good experience and i would definitely come back.

That was one the best burgers that I had in my life. Five guys should hire these guys, to teach them how to cook.
It was light and still very tasteful. You can tell the ingredients were very fresh. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! (And I am normally not a big fan of burgers nor fast food)

Well the superb quality is unbeatable.
Simplicity to order along with such detail expressed in the marinated chicken figures to the everything sauce will call you back again and again. Not fancy just GREAT food.
