Tour Cerro Del Caballito Oficial

The views from the top of Cerro del Caballito are incredible. The sunset is specially spiritual. There is a lot of wildlife to be seen on the hike, including monkeys, birds and butterflies. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow. There are some sections that are quite steep, so be sure to wear proper footwear and take your time. Cerro del Caballito is a great hike for anyone looking for a challenge and some amazing views.

For those who want to see a great view of Nicoya. Keep in mind that the hike is very hilly and most of the path is at a 45 degree incline. Bring a mosquito repellent because there's a lot of bugs and of course sun screen. It's not necessary to take a private tour because the owner takes everyone at the same time and if you go by yourself he will only charge you 5mil colones instead of almost 40$ which is what most private tours are offering. Water is esencial, you will need it so at least 1.5 liters. You can use the bathroom and showers when you go back to the entrance. I recommend it.

For those who love to enjoy a walk, and end up appreciating a beautiful view, I recommend this place, the hospitality is excellent, you can enter very early to see a sunrise or if you want to stay one night and enjoy a beautiful moon, you can camp. Cerro Caballito is a lovely place near Barra Honda National Park in Nicoya. Make sure to write "Cerro Caballito Tour Oficial" in Waze, otherwise it might take you to the other side of the mountain (trust me, it will haha).

The tour guides are great, and they'll take you to the different places where you can take tons of pictures.

They charge a very low fee for the Tour, so make sure to leave a tip. :-)

The hike is of medium intensity, and pretty much anyone can climb it, as there are a lot of stops to rest and benches to sit and even some camping area in the middle of the mountain.

Don't worry too much about sunscreen as 80% of the time you'll be inside the forest while climbing, but bring some either way.

Really nice walk. Unfortunately it was a raining day but we had the chance to enjoy the beautiful view from the top. We will going back in summer to see it better.

Excelente lugar para una caminata de amigos, solo o para ejercitarse. Bue os miradores. Llevar bastante agua.
Los dueños muy serviciales y atentos. El sendero perfectamente marcado y seguro.

Fui al tour del amanecer, el lugar es bello , la caminata muy bonita , el camino bien marcado , de igual manera don Víctor y su hijo siempre van como guías , la vista es espectacular, vale la pena la madrugada.

Don Victor, su esposa y sus hij@s son excelentes personas, demasiado amables, la comida sabe espectacular y el tour tiene unas vistas demasiado maravillosas. Fuimos dos adultos y tres niños y subieron muy bien. Más que recomendado

Las fotos que se pueden tomar son geniales, pero es pura subida y es mejor desayunar bien o comer bien cuando se va(yo fui a la caminata de la madrugada para ver el amanecer), porque se gasta mucha energía en la caminata. La experiencia es linda, solo que hay que tener cuidado con los lugares para tomar fotos, ya que algunos quedan cerca de un barranco.

Experiencia súper recomendada. Se llega fácilmente al punto de inicio, esta bien rotulado. El recorrido se hace con guía, hay un par de subidas algo fuertes, pero se hacen fácilmente. Hay una pequeña caverna que durante el recorrido se puede ingresar a ella, hay varios miradores, todos ellos espectaculares y súper fotogenicos. Especilmente el último que tiene vista de 360°, se ve la cordillera volcánica de Guanacaste completa, el golfo de Nicoya, Puntarenas y mucho más. Tienen una zona de camping en la parte alta del cerro que se ve muy bonita (no pude acampar). Recomendado llevar buena hidratacion por el calor y foco de cabeza ya que al menos uno de los tramos se hace de noche.

Lugar bonito para caminar y ver un hermoso amanecer 400 mts aproximadamente de desnivel en 3km. Caminantes principiantes con buena condición física, son 3K de pura subida. Los senderos estan bien de marcados, hay banquitas durante el trayecto. Hay que reservar, los guías locales muy amables

La verdad me gustó, los Guías super serviciales, baños disponibles, la ruta bien rotulada y muy limpio. Buen costo y con póliza de riesgo.

Un lugar fantástico lo recomiendo para qué vea la creación de Dios en todo su esplendor.

Linda caminata de mediana a fuerte intensidad, tiene varios miradores en el camino, zona para vuelo en paramente, vista al pacifico y ver un tremendo amanecer hay también una caverna y zona de camping y si te gusta tomar fotos es tu punto, un lugar ideal para los amantes de la naturaleza y la caminata.

Muy bonito lugar. Es recomendable llevar zapatos cómodos y aptos para el barro, mucha agua y una abrigo ligero para el viento en la cima.

Es bueno llevar algún bocadillo para aguantar hasta el desayuno. Yo compré el desayuno a los organizadores del Tour.

La caminata no es larga, pero hace calor y eso aumenta la dificultad. Hay un poco de barro y las piedras son resbalosas. Caminen con coudado.
