Dr Freddy Soto

With no appointment I visited Dr Soto last month with a tiny pebble uncomfortably embedded in my eyeball. He gave me an anesthetic and had to prod the pebble out with a needle. The whole procedure took him half and hour yet he only charged me $100, and the problem was solved!

My husband was attacked by dog while we were on vacation this past week and we were told to go to this clinic. I am so happy that we did. My husband was seen immediately by Dr. Morales. She and her staff jumped into action the minute we walked into the door. They were so kind and made him feel comfortable while giving him prompt and thorough care. It was certainly scary to be in another country and in need of immediate medical care, but the staff at this clinic are top notch. We are home now and he is healing up thanks to their excellent care.

This is the only clinic in this small village. This is not an hospital and the closest one is 45 minutes. So, the 100USD cost for the consultation is very much well the price. I got a serious infection on a toe, byte or whatever, and tried to manage it myself. After I while I consulted with them. The service was five star, very polite, friendly and competent. I was and still treated by a woman Doctor, Christine Morales and a nurse. BOTH are attentive to details and care about their patient. I'm on my way to recovery and the cost is well worth it. When you need medical attention in these small village, do not hesitate like I did at first, just go, could get worse.

As a foreigner vacationing during the hot months I go into some trouble with food poisoning and dehydration. Doc got us in fast, bags of IV’s antibiotics bloodwork (full panel) and a gut heath assessment. They were extremely friendly. They speak English and are very upfront on pricing. Consult $100 200 for everything else. Worth every penny. Thanks Dr. Freddy

My daughter got a stomach bug. The team here diagnosed her, got her an iv, and identified the issue. They speak English fluently. They are kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this clinic if you get sick.

We are new parents and very concerned when our 1 year old came down with a fever and a rash. Visiting from a cold weather climate we lacked experience with tropical ailments and felt we needed to seek advice from an experienced physician.

Luckily we were able to book an immediate appointment with Dr. Soto and his amazing, professional and caring staff. The good Doctor was able to examine and diagnose our daughters condition.

In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, he has a very calming and caring bedside manner that was able to set our anxious new parent emotions at ease.

If you are unlucky to become ill in Samara, you are lucky to have access to excellent medical care.

Dr.Soto is outstanding! If only USA doctors were so professional, caring and efficient. I had internal bleeding from ulcers and he quickly diagnosed me and immediately sent me off to San Jose for advanced care. When I refused to pay extra for a medical flight choosing ambulance instead...he called my insurer and got approval for a medivac flight to San Jose. In the plane and in San Jose I was overwhelmed by the quality and care I received in Costa Rica...but starting with Dr. Soto.

My wife was hit by a wave, she had a problem with her ears and I was afraid that she had a concussion of brain. Dr. Soto was recommended to us in the hotel. We came in and Dr. Soto accepted us immediately. He checked her ear, showed how it looks on the screen, explained what happened in details and spent as much time as was needed with us. The whole visit was only $100 for the best of class service. I wish we had that kind of doctors in US.

Dr Freddy Soto came to my rescue when I had a very severe infection and he identified that I needed to be air evacuated immediately to San Jose. He was professional and he was efficient and also involved my Family. I was in hospital for 8 days. Without his help treatment might have come too late.

I was taking ill last year with food poisoning the doctor was unbelievably great I would highly recommend him to anyone I wish the United States would take a lesson from his services

Very good experience. I had the clinic whatsap number on my phone for any emergencies as we have 3 little kids. On the 6th day of our trip our 3 year old had a near drowning experience in the pool. The doctor immediately wrote me back to me advising us to come now. when we arrived the equipment and staff was ready to receive us. The nurses are sweet with kids and it is a clean clinic. Dr. Soto was very calm and informative and took good care of my daughter.

Went there for food poisoning, which I knew it was that. They informed me that they don't take insurances only AFTER treating me, which is unprofessional. Prices should always be stated prior giving any services. Then they were trying to tell me I might need a bladder surgery, which I did not need. (Confirmed by a friend doctor of mine from San Jose!) Charged me 300 US, and I didn't even paid the entire amount and they said it was "ok". Way too sketchy! Fortunately i have a lawyer here, so he will look into it.

Unfortunately, I did not read the comments BEFORE going to the doctor. Our story is similar. Mr. Soto was not there and we were attended by a woman, supposedly another doctor. They charged us 100 $ per person - my son and I had gotten sick at exactly the same time with the same symptoms. The lady said it was a common viral infection and dehydration (I also got the viral infection and the dehydration). When my husband specially asked for dengue, she said no, it wasn't. As the fever remained high, we took our son to the hospital where the doctor confirmed our suspicion - high probability that it is dengue. Today then I got the typical rash. My advice: It is better to go to the doctor at the drug store for free or directly to the hospital in Nicoya.

I came to the clinic with a bad ear infection (as you would think they see often in a beach town). After a 5 min (100 USD) check-up, I was prescribed antibiotics (also 100 USD). After a week, the symptoms had gotten much worse and a proper doctor in Panama told me I should have gotten different medication, and certainly the advice to see another doctor if symptoms got worse. Instead here they tried to convince me to get IV treatment (400 USD) and said otherwise I could expect the treatment to take very long. All in all incredibly disappointing!

The Dr. is a person who takes advantage of the convalescence of people, only interested in money and not the patient's Health. We had a very bad experience with him, we do not recommend it. We hope that other people do not pass what we passed.

Kann ich definitiv nicht empfehlen. Mein Sohn hatte Ohrenschmerzen. 100 US für einmal ins Ohr gucken von der Krankenschwester. Nase und Hals wurden nicht einmal angesehen. Dafür wurde dann gleich eine Amoxi Spritze angebote. Meiner Meinung nach völlig überzogen.
Ohrentropfen gab es dann nur auf Nachfrage.
