Chayote Lodge

Great place for some zen time. Or if you want to do low key Glamping. Lovely views of the sunrise and sunsets. Restaurant Quelite is underrated. Just know that it is rustic going in. Definitely plan on returning.

Fantastic place for peace and quiet, a fantastic view from your room/bungalow, and great food and coffee. We did the local coffee tour and highly recommend it.

We couldn't imagine a better place to start our honeymoon! The view from the cabin was absolutely stunning. The cabin itself was roomy and clean. Very friendly staff and great food in the restaurant. We enjoyed the guided bird watch walk, highly recommended. Thank you for making our honeymoon unforgettable.

We were expecting a lodge but this place is so much more. It’s beautiful and worth a stop for a night or two. The lodge rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. The furniture is made from arabica trees and coffee sacks are used for decoration throughout. There is also fresh coffee in the rooms for guests to make as well as extra blankets, heaters, tea, hot water, a mini fridge etc. The view from the balcony is the best part - you can see down to San Jose, the volcanoes and the coffee plantations and then you can watch the classic Costa Rica cloud cover roll in which is moody and peaceful and really relaxing. It’s definitely off the beaten track, remote and much more quiet than the other places we stayed in Costa Rica but it was a good “pause button” for one night in between La Fortuna and Puerto Viejo. We ate at the hotel restaurant which is a beautiful structure, much more well done than we expected - a big wooden room with a fireplace and views. Dinner was good, not the best but convenient, breakfast was better. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They also organised tours for us the next morning so we could see most of Naranjo and the coffee plantations before checking out. The tours were good but very expensive. We had a misunderstanding on the price and were very shocked when we found out the total.

Very nice, so much better than all the other hotels I stayed at during my trip. The rooms are simply beautiful. There are no bugs in the rooms, it doesn't get too hot, the water is great, and the food is delicious. I'm definitely going to stay here again. Everyone is super friendly throughout your stay and it's a nice area to walk around. I even saw animals in the trees outside my window, the balconies are a luxury. They put yoga mats in the room too which was nice. This location is close to a bus stop

The only thing I disliked is that the hotel's dogs will jump on you while you're eating inside. I tried not to engage with the dogs, but they were very dirty and got mud all over me. This was pretty disappointing since I have no way to wash clothes during my trip..

Such a great place. The views from the individual lodges are to die for. In the evening seeing the clouds coming in with the sunset is breathtaking. Food was the best I had throughout Costa Rica and absolutely fell in love with Chayote, the resident pooch. He even slept one night with us.

We arrived very late due to a delayed flight, but the staff waited for us, got to our cabin and made a delicious dinner and drinks through room service. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable with spectacular views from private balconies. This is a mountain range and it does get cool at night and the extra blankets are nice and warm. Chayote Lodge was a great 1st stop on our multi city Costa Rica vacation.

This lodge was my favorite stay in Costa Rica. Comfortable clean rooms, temps were perfect at the altitude and the coffee at the restaurant is a must try. The views are incredible over looking San Jose and coffee farms. The staff was amazingly friendly and even had someone jump off my car after i left the lights on. Favorite part was the silly lemon fetching dog Chayote.

A lovely place to relax. The rooms are stunning, second only to the views from the balcony of the room. Lovely food served in the restaurant, we walked to Chayote reserve while we were there which was a long walk but the reserve was worth it. The team working there were really friendly.

We were welcomed to an amazing view of the hotel. The drive to this location is breath taking as you are driving through lots of coffee farms. We were welcomed by Robert and we stayed in a lodge that is just for us. The view from the balcony is something you can’t capture with a phone. We had an good Casava breakfast and went on a morning hike through the local coffee farms. We will be back here again.

Highy recommended! Amazing, beautifully designed, separated units with the most astounding views of the central valley and San José. The staff is fantastic and very proactive, and the restaurant is top notch. (Thank you, Minor!) The lodge's dog, "Chayote" was a fun, friendly, and well behaved addition.

A hidden gem, high up in the mountains, less than 1hr from SJO airport. Spectacular views of the Central Valley. Great restaurant, with local recipes and fresh ingredients. Very cozy, well-designed rooms. This is authentic CR with a perfect touch of luxury. The area around here is a hiker’s dream. Highly recommended..!

Wow! Amazing views from our private bungalow! Food and service were on point. A short stint from San jose and totally worth the drive up the mountain. Perfect place to relax and unwind after a jaunt around the country. We will be back!

One of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in. This is a hidden gem off the beaten path. They are in the heart of a large coffee producing region and serve the most delicious coffee at breakfast. Honestly, if you love coffee you will fall in live with this place. To top it off, the view is drop-dear gorgeous!

Beautiful organic design of the guest rooms tastefully uses earthy color tones and materials from the coffee industry of Naranjo. The artful use of coffee branches and lighting is charming throughout the rooms and restaurant. On the exterior a blanket of hydrangea frames each pathway around the property giving it a lush wedding bouquet like feel. The room size is generous with tall ceilings and window transoms set along it's length to bring in light & nature. Coffee stained wood furniture adds to the charm and comfort of each room. Large sliding glass windows open up to a large deck with a commanding view of the valley below that takes your breath away.

This is a quiet and serene environment to rest and recharge your batteries. The bed and pillows were plush and very comfortable. We slept like babies. The attractive space heater provided made our room warm and toasty. Meals can be served in your room on your own private deck. The All American breakfast was delicious. Sandwiches were good too. The deck size is big enough to stretch and do yoga. Mats are provided in each room as well.

We loved the warmth and beauty of this place. It was a memorable find and a hidden gem. It was the R&R we needed to begin our vacation adventure.

I have traveled to some beautiful places and this location is so beautiful and the service is amazing.
If you have dinner or lunch or breakfast, Minor is amazing.

I absolutely LOVED It

no cappuccino - I was under shock .. til I drank the coffee - what a great tast. I started to drink black coffee. And the bungalows were wonderfull. I could relax completely. Wendy and Robert were extremely friendly and helped me in all matters. Minor from service and all other employees were also very friendly. Thank you very much for this relaxing stay.

Amazing place !! Everyone is super nice, rooms have incredible views (So does the restaurant!!) and the service is beyond perfect. Rolando helped us so much with recommendations on where to go, called to check availabilities.. way more help than anyone could ever expect from a hotel! Thank you so much ! Can’t recommend enough!

Hidden gem so convenient to airport. Spectacular views. Beautiful attention to detail in original design and execution. Service is wonderful and hospitality genuine. We really enjoyed our stay.
