Tucked away gem. Delicious food and the friendliest family — also very reasonable prices. Highly recommend going out of your way to try this spot!!

Not a typical Tico soda, Villa Bosque is set back off the main highway, surrounded by a lovely, mature garden with Jurassic era looking palms towering 8 meters to the sky.

The sign is small and the nearly one-lane dirt road is easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Parking is plentiful and free. We parked off the road and took the stairs up to the large, open-air, vaulted ceiling rancho. Seating is also plentiful. You would be forgiven for mistaking this as a typical soda with a nicer property from initial impression but once the food arrives, you will know the difference.

This is a bar and restaurant, so standard mixed drinks are available, beer and some excellent fruit juices. The menu isn't long but there were many good entrees and we had a difficult time choosing.

I highly recommend the chicken cordon blue in jalapeno sauce. It was the best I've had in years. Given how delicious and flavorful the food was, we will return to try more items.

The service was friendly, attentive and fast. The prices were fair considering the quality of the meal.

We drove an hour from Nosara just to eat here. We had been hearing great things about Villa Bosque so we jumped on the ATV and went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, so glad we did.
My picky son ordered a chicken sandwich, it was served on homemade bread, he gave it 2 thumbs up. I had the chicken cordon bleu which was amazing. Chicken wrapped in bacon served over a veggie melody of carrots, squash & broccoli with a light jalapeño cream sauce. I would & will totally order that again.
The menu is diverse with steaks, curried& grilled fish, shrimp dishes, burgers and even onion rings. The chef is skilled in his craft, dishes had lots of flavor, were scratch made and presentation was beautiful. Service was sweet and kind. I can’t wait to return & bring friends for this perfect place. Well done chef!

I don't just recommend this place; I urge you to visit. It's not merely a meal; it's an unforgettable food experience where every dish tells a story of tradition and innovation. Their commitment to quality and the genuine warmth of their service epitomizes the best of Costa Rican hospitality.

In a world where dining often becomes routine, this restaurant rekindles the excitement and surprise that true culinary artistry can inspire. Strongly advised for anyone seeking to savor the true essence of Costa Rican gastronomy.

Excellent food and service! The Chicken Parmesean, cordon blue, fries, and baked potatoes were really great too. The chicken parm also had a delicious pasta with red sauce..

We give a good review on the chicken burrito as well. The Ceasar salad was good, but could have a little less dressing.

We did not see a drink menu. The waitress told us what soda/tea beverages were available. I did see in the fridge behind the bar that there were cervesas. They did have wine and I ordered a Pino Blanco that was good.

Overall great atmosphere and service. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Cordon Blue was delicious! Very kind people, a hidden spot worth visiting! The restaurant itself is quite simple but it’s very cosy in the middle of nature.

Good local option and a welcomed break from hotel restaurants for great price. Pulled in the back of the restaurant and chef had just received fresh Mahi for the day we were there. Try the shrimp cocktail.

A totally delightful local experience. We were headed for the French restaurant closer to Playa Carrillo (Wednesday about 6:30) but it was closed so we followed the reviews to Villa Bosque. It seemed a bit "too local" but we said what the heck and went in anyway. We were greeted by a large table of very friendly local gringos who called out as we entered "hey welcome" ... "where are you from?" (California) ... "have you been here before?" (nope) ... "you're in for a treat - be sure to have the cordon bleu" (I did).

It was everything the other reviews say: welcoming, friendly, rustic, good food, good prices, quite a treat actually. The wine list is very abbreviated (red or white) but cheap. The ceviche plate was huge and delicious and the included plantain "chips" (more like fried plantain patties) should not be missed. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was excellent, the jumbo prawns were equally awesome.

As we were finishing the main course, a local couple sat in a table next to ours and we had a delightful conversation that started with a comment about his butt-length dreads (I shave my head). We talked about local beaches, turtles, local lifestyle ... while we got that free dessert others mention: a sautéed pineapple ring in a caramel syrup and a small dab of ice cream.

Sorry about the pic ... I dug in before thinking about taking one.

Excellent food from chef Jonathan, friendly family greets you. Every meal we have eaten there was great. Cordon Bleu with jalapeno gravy is a must for the friends, my burger was perfect. The next time the curried fish was great, and the desserts are delicious

The food here is so good. One of the best restaurants in the Samara - Carrillo area. I would describe it as elevated local cuisine. We visit weekly and it is always consistently good. Service is also great and they are always very friendly.

Having read the good reviews we tried Villa Bosque this evening. I don't know why but we arrived at 7pm and had the place to ourselves. Of course this doesn't make for a great atmosphere but that is just the luck of the drawer. The restaurant is nice and raised up and surrounded by greenery. The service was excellent, the food great and the prices very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.

The best Cesar salad I've ever had. Even beats Canada.
I love the Philly cheese steak. I get it every time. My brother loves the cordon blue! And the price is right.
We took our Blazzing buggy golf cart there from samara many times.
Love this restaurant! Going to go once again today with the whole family!

We spent a unique moment at the terrasse of this lovely restaurant, surrounded by beautiful trees, palm trees and flower, serrenaded by cicada! Possibly one of the vest ceviche ans ceasar salad as starters and giant prawnss a la diabla and grilled fish garlic sauce ! Absolutely grandiose ! And maybe the best was the kind and efficient service. A must go place !
