Hacienda Punta Indio

Such a great place to stay. We had two families staying there and we all felt like we had plenty of personal space. The house has everything you can dream of in a Costa Rica vacation.

Espectacular

This is an older property, and could use some sprucing up, but the location and layout are great. We did wish there was A/C in the common area so it would have been more pleasant to spend time together rather than scattered in our respective rooms when we weren't able to be outside, but the temps at times weren't too bad. Two things stopping me from giving 5 stars: 1, the mattresses are hard as concrete. 2, we had 2 rings and some cash stolen from a bedside table during our 10 day stay. The caretakers Jorge and Flory are wonderful and we trusted them implicitly, and we believe Flory when she said this had never happened before, but we didn't realize that someone else would be coming along to help Flory clean. We were told to lock up any valuables when we were away so the blame is partially ours, but my mother was unaware that the caretakers were coming to clean that day so she didn't put her things in the safe while we went out. Samara is a lovely town, and safe, so between the locked gates and the remoteness of the property it never occurred to us that someone might steal from us. All this considered, we would stay here again, and would recommend it to others, but would love for others to learn from our experience and remember to be cautious.
