St. Marien wurde als neugotische Kapelle 1868 nach Plänen des berühmten Kölner Architekten Vincenz Statz errichtet. 1960 wurde die Kirche um einen Anbau erweitert. Im ehemaligen Chor des alten Teils wird alljährlich in der Advents- und Weihnachtszeit eine schöne Krippe aufgebaut.

Die Kirche wurde im neugotischen Still von Vincent Statz erbaut. Gewidmet ist sie zu "Ehren der Geburt Mariens". Patronatstag ist der 8. September. Die Gewölbestreben und -säulen sind aus dem Tuff der nahgelegenen Stollen im Brohltal gefertigt. Im Innern der Kirche sind eine wertvolle Madona-Statue aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, sowie eine seltene Anna- Selbstdritt-Darstellung (Anna, Maria, Jesus) und eine Herz-Jesu-Figur zu finden.
