Samui Thai Cuisine

It's one of my favorite restaurants in Hamburg.

The food here is amazing, I've asked the last time for some dishes out of the menu, and the people in the restaurant easily made it possible. I'd highly recommend the whole deep-fried fish with spicy sauce (just remember to ask if they have any kinds of fish). The desert there (I tried sticking rice with mango and ice cream with different topping) is just nothing to complain about.

It was not the first time we visited this place.
When we want to eat Thai food in Hamburg, this is the place for us to go.

The chef and the service are Thai, compared to many others. Because of this, the food tastes quite like it does in Thailand.

The service is very welcoming and we never had to wait long to receive our food, even the restaurant being very crowded.

We never fled disturbed by the noise of a full restaurant, but we could understand, when it would be too loud for some people in some moments.

They are very dog friendly, as long as your dog is as well. When everyone is going along well with eachother, we got a normal table , between the entrance and the bar.

When you would like to sit traditionally, you can ask to get a low table with pillows to sit on or a table half in the ground, with you sitting on the floor. We can really recommend that.

Absolutely beautifully tasty food and presentation so lovely. A favourite restaurant to go to as either a couple, as one, as a family.
Food is delicious, service is great.
Obviously on a busy night you can expect to wait a while but that’s normal for any busy times but people always point out that it’s too long so just correcting them.. if it’s busy expect to wait a while. But we’ve never had a huge wait and it’s certainly worth it when the food comes!
It is a little noisy as it’s small for a restaurant and tables close together a d that is the only negative thing I can say.
Unfortunately the online booking was taken off so now you have to call and sometimes with the language/accent difference it can be difficult but we always manage as they are patient with me! (German with a British accent)

Great place to dine in with friends and family. I love the interior design (the table is so lovely!!) and the traditional uniform of the waitresses. The food is great, I prefer the fish with paprika to the duck with ginger and the blue cocktail (samui) is not as good as the pink Margherita, but it's my preference. I always wanted to come again after how good it was (I think it was better in Dresden but not by a margin, Samui always has good food)

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times and so far it never fails to impress me. The food is great with good serving size and authentic flavours, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the decoration in the restaurant gives a nice oriental vibe.

Dishes that I would recommend are Pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles) and mango sticky rice. If you can handle spicy food, then you can try the Thai green curry and Tom Yum soup.

A reservation is highly recommended because of how popular this restaurant is. You can choose to sit at the normal chair seating, or traditional floor seating (the tables have much prettier decoration).

The moment I enter the restaurant I just fall in love with the ambiance & staff is so good 😍.

The taste of food that I ordered was just spot on; I have fish red Thai curry & then pad Thai as well. Everything was delicious & definitely gonna come back soon to enjoy other dishes.

Thai tea is a must try, it was very refreshing.

It's too good! If you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place. It was richtig spicy & nice flavour of coconut in Thai Curry. I tried Masaman Curry with Tofu & Gemüsecurry Grün. Masaman was better. The tender coconut drink is also good. But it's more like the hard coconut, not so tender like I used to have in India. Coconut ice was the real star though, highly recommended! Besides, great ambience, amazing staff and a floor seating with cushions (thai style) is available for big groups. This place has the highest rating for good reason! 😉

Had a very nice time here. Comfortable seating, apt decor, very polite and caring hosts and in my opinion one of the best Thai food menu around.

I tried the pad thai, fried chicken, fish cakes it tasted really nice. A bit expensive than regular resturants. Book in advance if you do not wish to wait. I would visit again and recommend it to Thai food lovers.

We frequently eat Asian food and have been through a large number of Asian restaurants in Hamburg. There are many excellent Asian restaurants in the city, but this one probably tops them all in this price range.
The restaurant has a very nice ambience, with tables of varying sizes. There is a seating area with “fake” floor seating tables. It appears as though you are sitting on the floor, but it actually is comfortable as you have space for your feet and legs below the table.
The staff members are very attentive and friendly, and accommodate your requests in a very professionally manner. That said, this restaurant is very popular and without a reservation, even for lunch on a weekend, you may be out of luck.
The menu is very extensive, with many choices in different categories. It isn’t exclusively Thai, but the vast majority if dishes are Thai. We tried several different dishes and the quality and taste was top notch. The ingredients are fresh and of high quality. The taste is wonderful and the presentation as well. The mango sticky rice dessert is fantastic - as if it was in Asia. It is hard to find such high quality mangoes in Europe.
The food is served promptly and is nicely presented, with lots of care and attention of the staff.
We will keep coming back to Samui - it is well worth the price of the dishes, and prices aren’t excessive at all.

I think we were very lucky because we didn't have reservations, but we were seated immediately. In the future, we will ALWAYS call ahead, because this place is very popular, and for good reason: the food here was comparable to the best food that we had in Thailand. Plus, the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly highly recommend it and I look forward to our return trip, because we will be visiting again.

I would rate this restaurant as the best Thai restaurant in Germany. They serve really authentic Thai cuisine with the right amount of spiciness. Price is reasonable and service was super good. The pad Thai is a must to try.

If you're into Thai food, then you must definitely come to Samui Thai Cuisine.

Undoubtedly the best Thai food I've tried out in Hamburg thus far. Their dishes are packed full of sweet/savoury/spicy/sour flavours that stimulate the senses all at once.

The decoration of the place is immaculate. One can marvel at the amount of effort spent into the design details of the restaurant. If you're up for it, there's a traditional seating area in which you could kick off your shoes, relax and dine at the low table while seated on the padded cushion.

Just by posting this review made me salivate and miss the good food from Samui Thai already!

Fantastic place to experience authentic Thai food and culture. We have been there twice and it was a perfect evening, both times. The service is very friendly and attentive and the food tastes amazing. I also recommend getting one of the Thai tables (if you are ok with sitting on ground level and taking of your shoes). The spiciness of the food is similar to original Thai food. So be careful, if you have a sensitive stomach. ;)

Excellent restaurant, great staff and delicious food! Try the Thai traditional tables! Open for lunch and dinner every day. Even on holidays. Be sure you book your table well in advance because it is very popular. Menu in German, English and Thai. The staff speaks English too.

Update.... I have been here again. Still amazing. I got tempura mega shrimps and squid with garlic and green pepper sauce. Delicious. For drink a hibiscus ice tea. I highly recommend it.

Listen, if you're looking for guenuine and authentic Thai food, Samui Thai Cuisine is a must! We always visit if we're in the Hamburg area for dinner or lunch. Their drinks and food menu is very extensive and you can bet the service will be friendly and attentive.

Very authentic Thai cuisine. Been coming here for years. Only concern is that I feel it is getting more expensive every time.
