The best place to sample true danish food. One of the good danish restaurants in Aarhus. This is the town hall restaurant that has all the pics of the mayors on display. Superb food, amazing service. Would highly recommend the salmon, herrings, the bacon and the schnitzel. Has crepes for dessert.

Staff are very welcoming and funny. They gave us a lot of space to think before taking orders and to wait between courses, didn't urge us to pay the check and leave. Food is one of the biggest highlight, super generous portions we didn't even believe there're second and third platter to come. Would definitely recommend their set menus. We couldn't finish the final course so they helped us put everything in the box. Exceptional quality and portion for the price. Authentic Danish restaurant! Happy customer happy meal!!

Amazing experience!
Frederic was our waiter and he made us feel at home.
I tried the raadhus cacerole and it was so tasty it felt homemade.
My wife had the beef fillet and it was super good as well.
Definitely a must go if you’re in Aarhus!

If you’re looking for reasonably priced, authentic Danish food with a free car park nearby, I vote you go here!

☑ Absolutely beautiful food served here at prices which are surprisingly cheap for the service, decor, presentation and such.
We ordered the salmon and asparagus smørrebrød, and the smoked eel and scrambled egg one too! They were incredible, and as other reviews say, the serving sizes are generous. Our server spoke wonderful English which made the process of ordering far easier! The menu was bilingual too, so no Google translate was needed.

It is quite a small restaurant, so I would recommend booking should you want to attend during peak dinner times or on a weekend. Despite it being quite cosy, it wasn’t particularly loud inside, so it’s not overwhelming for neurodivergent people or those with a hearing aid.

❎ I was surprised by the 25% service charge added, and that tap water seemed to be €4. This did bump our bill up at the end. I would say that the food was worth it, however.
Lastly, the toilets are down a small spiral staircase, so this place is not wheelchair accessible.

My wife and I had the Christmas course meal (Julefrokost), and really enjoyed it. One of restaurants that we felt had the most value for money in terms of quality and portion.

10/10 would recommend if you are looking to experience a cozy dinner. We did not leave hungry at all - we were stuffed!

Waiters were so kind, especially the blonde lady that I interracted more with, but the other 2 gentlemen as well. Tried the 3 herrings and 3 open sandwiches and they were all delicious, paired with some beer. Thank you!

Delicious! Great service and huge portions, the waitress kindly warned us that one smorrebrod was enough per person as we were gonna order 2 and that would have been too much.

What a nice place!! We showed up without a reservation and the staff played some table tetris and got us a spot :) We had several herring variations and these guys know their craft. The room is really nice too. Will definitely come back here next time we’re in Aarhus.

Enjoyed a «Smørrebrød» lunch here in September. A really pleasent stay. Really good food, variation and cosy interior. The staff was really friendly and always present. Best place to eat proper smørtebrød. Worth a visit
