DNS was a turning point in my life. Here I meet amazing people with who to grow with and who share love around. This college teaches me in a holistic way and takes the best and worst out of me in the sense of getting to know myself in a deeper level and accept, embrace and love myself and others deeper with all our qualities. I found a school and I find myself and life everyday here. To understand how much it means you have to come and live it. Or visit us!

The place is fantastic with lots of very nice people who obviously have a purpose to want to make a better world by training teachers who will teach the next generation to be prepared for the future with all its challenges.
The windmill is a big mark of what you can accomplish by going together to do the impossible possible .
Yesterday on Earth day it was dedicated to do an action in the garden to plant and prepare for the summer.
Come to see yourself !

DNS is not just a Teacher Training College but a school for life. It trains you to be an active and global citizen, it allows you to form your opinion about different topics and to take actions accordingly.

Here we adopt a communitarian lifestyle, meaning that we run the school together. We share all responsibilities, from taking care of our facilities to organizing our program and studies.

I have been part of DNS for more than one year now. What I like more about it is the feeling of belonging that I experience every single day.
We are so many various human beings, each of us with distinctive strengths and struggles. And yet, each of us has a role and that makes me feel part of something bigger.

If you are reading and you got at least a little bit curious about this place but you think ``it is too good to be true``, believe me, I had the same thought.
I believe that a few lines on a review page are not enough to describe this place, so feel free to contact me if you want to know about us.

The Necessary Teacher Training College changed my life in many ways. I was 19 years old when I came directly after finishing high school. What I knew was that I don't want to continue going to university in the Czech Republic. It was clear to me that I don't want to follow the "normal" casual life.
I still wanted to educate myself but in different ways. I wanted to go out and explore the world. So I decided to join DNS. It is a school where each of us finds a role, you feel that you belong to something bigger. The campus is near nature, sea and also towns, here we live together in a community, where we spend most of the time together, collaborating or creating programs.
If you read about this school and your reaction will be something like: "No way, that can not exist" it is alright I had the same reaction. Then I would recommend to you come and visit us.

The teacher I want to be! - That is the workshop that I had to prepare during this summer for a DNS camp, to people who has very different imagination of a teacher. Furthermore, I didn't have my own clear imagination of a teacher I want to be.

I am a 3rd year student in DNS, through these years I went through on pedagogical practices, an Africa travel, European reality, but I never thought that I will reach a point where I will ask myself what kind of teacher I am actually and what kind I want to be? - I didn't really feel I can be a teacher.
Everyone has an imagination, expectation towards teachers, how should they do things, how is it actually and in case if you decide to become a teacher then you have your own expectations towards yourself. I had too! Then I came to DNS, where I experienced, learned another kind of teaching.
At DNS a teacher is not above you, who knows what is always the best, a teachers role is to guide you through this education, to teach you how to learn in your own ways. Inspires you to become a teacher for everyone in a unique sense.

So my answer is I want to be a teacher who is inspiring, uplifting it's students and learns from them how to be a better teacher.

Teacher training college for the out-of-the box minded. Taking good care of their facilities like garden farming, sports, art and music. Working to integrate people with various incapabilities. Responsible and responsive

I just met students from DNS 2022 team - they returned from their 4 months travel by bus to West Africa with the end goal Guinea Bissau. It was such a pleasure to hear how much this period "Global Reality" have moved them. They were telling and showing pictures - they love to tell about their experiences to others! If you want to meet them - do not hesitate but contact DNS - you can visit DNS or they can maybe meet you at your place!
I myself studied at DNS in 1972 - and the 4 months travel by bus was a life experience that I am still using in my life! Go for it!

I was a student at the first team at DNS.
IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO SEE THAT AFTER 50 YEARS IN OPERATION THIS INSTITUTION STILL HAS SO MUCH TO OFFER TO YOUTH OF TODAY.
It is truly another kind of school.
Learning for life.
Sticking together about solving any problems.
Go visit and see for yourself.
This is for people who want to do something totally extraordinary together.

I myself recently decided to join DNS and let me tell you I couldn’t have made a better decision. In DNS there is always something to do and there is always something to offer. But the best part is that in this freedom you are encouraged to bring yourself, get people involved with your interest and hobbies and meanwhile learn by doing. Everybody here at campus is really openminded and not afraid to try something new and to step out of there comfort zones. And this was exactly what I was looking for in a Bachelor. A place where I can have the freedom but still educated myself in a new and inspiring way.

HI EVERYBODY!

Today I was in Denmark visiting some friends over the weekend.
We decided to go and take a look at this huge White and Red wind turbine, which is located close to a small town called Ulfborg, in the western part of Jutland.
The place where the windmill is, is a School centre called Tvind, which has a Teaching Training College, among other institutions, and the turbine is called “ Tvindkraft”.
When we arrived there, we were met by this majestic windmill, with its wings sweeping down at you, like a huge Dinosaur greeting you!
We went inside the foot of the turbine, where there is an exhibition, explaining the construction of the windmill, there we met one of the persons looking after it, who actually was there during its construction in 1976!!!
Her name was Brita, and for the next ½ hour, she filled our hearts with hope for humanity and our prolonged existence on this little blue dot of ours!!!!!

This windmill was the biggest in the world, at the time it was built and it has been running consistency ever since, in 1976.
I was so impressed when I started to understand the impact this beautiful construction has had, and still is having, on the development of alternative energy, and, many other aspects of it.
What I learned was:
• This wind turbine as built as a concrete fight to stop nuclear power coming to Denmark,
AND IT WORKED!!!!!
The government plan to build many nuclear power plants in the 1970ies, was scrapped.
• It was built without any government funding, without any funding from banks, without any funding from investors, ONLY PAID BY TEACHERS AT THE SCHOOL CENTRE.
• It was the inspiration for many windmill producers in Denmark, which led to that Denmark became the frontrunner in wind turbine energy in the world.
• It was built by happy amateurs, who had to solve all problems themselves, there were no other existing windmills on this scale.
• It has become an inspiration to many people around the world, that we ordinary people can move mountains, if the dedication, commitment and co-operation is there!!!
• No one can own the wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone can build a windmill.
• All inventions were made public, no patents, which meant that the technology can be used by everyone!
• It was so much ahead of its time, so the design is basically used even today, 45 years later, as the blue print for modern wind mills!!!
Thanks Tvindkraft for your lovely work!

At this moment, I am a student in DNS Necessary Teacher Training College and I am really glad to be here. Besides interesting, alternative studies that involves traveling I really enjoy the community lifestyle. Some people find it difficult, and I won't lie sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming, but despite that I am still thankful for the opportunity to be here. By living together and working together, we learn from each other a lot. The one thing that people find unusual is that we maintain our school ourselves, we don't have any cleaning ladies, but personally for me it's a motivation not to stay lazy, ahaha and it's also a stand to be more sustainable community. Great place to visit too! My family and friends enjoy coming by.

~ ~ This is not your average college ~ ~
DNS intends to show a new way, a differet way, which has it's challenges and a set of difficulties to combat and get through over the four years of this kind of education.

I first came here as a volunteer, and finally in 2021 I joined the Saving Up pre course, which allows me to earn the tuition fee so I can start the program next September.

I am challenged, I am in an environment where I can grow, I am living with people who inspire me and lift me up. I am in a community where I always feel welcomed and can always count on the support of my teammates and people around me, and I couldn't wish for more.

I'm a student there, actually in my first year of the program and there is no other place I want to be right now. This place is not just a simple school, it's a human experience. It is where you can just grow and grow more on a self-development level and experience the real community life system with a shared-economy. Each of us finds his place, and have an important role in this perfect international mix of incredible people. This place has nothing alike the traditional educational way, here you manage your own time, you collaborate all together and we run the school all together.
This is a place to change the World, change the mindset, to make the difference !

For me, Dns is a place where you can deeply experience what does it means to live, travel and work together as a community. With taking the responsibility to create and organize what we feel passionate and what we feel strongly about makes us an important part of the program - which is quite unique, to find a place with an approach that includes the participants and not just provides a ready made schedule.
I see it as a place where you work together with people and for people, and where you have the possibility to become more profound and diverse human.

I met guys, students themselves, from this university, and what they do is truly amazing! Where else would you find a university building social awareness, teaching to research the real social/political/environmental/cultural issues and working with people on the field while travelling in Africa as a part of their degree?!
DNS is a strong non-formal education university. And if you are traveller looking for a degree, person keen on helping others or making an impact on the world, or a youngster full of ideas but bored of traditional education, DNS is the place for you! This guys are so genuine and passionate about what they do.. I definitely want to continue working with them! :)

Its a place, which shapes the global teachers and citizens! I have not only became a part of the team but the whole community at once. Now i share my daily life with other fellow students, teachers, students with special needs and other workers. It feels great to be surrounded by some many people with different background. We collaborate, discuss, involve and learn individually and in common. Besides, we do a lot of practical actions and maintain the school together, which builds the feeling of ownership, what we do not normally get in most of the educational institutions. I have a feeling of belonging here! 5 stars for the quality of real education what is so needed in our society!

My impressions about this college?
It is alive, buzzing, and moving all the time, specially when international volunteers of many different countries come to join us in different yearly projects such as the Tvind Olympic Games, a Conference about Peace and Justice, Concert or Theatre...
Who are living here?
It is a place where students are teachers too, and teachers did not forget yet how to learn continuosly. It is a college that trains teachers necessary to live up to the demands of teachers in the world, to comply with the enormous need of having Another Kind of teachers as examples, because they are there to support the ones in need, they are there to initiate solutions for local problems, and most of all to be together with their collegues and their students about difficulties, struggles and joyful discoveries they encounter through their learning process.

Even though DNS is a college for training teachers and preparing another kind of pedagogues for the challenges of the education system, it is also an amazing opportunity to experience community life, try out different responsibilities and also enjoy a more sustainable way of living. One of the most important things for me, that is different from common universities, is the environment, here it is calm, the college is surrounded by fields and forests, definitely it makes a difference when studying and finding time for yourself.

The most alternative education, a the university level, I know about. Here all experiences are part of the learning process. A good place if you want to become a great teacher, activist and world citizen. It is very challenging, exciting and meaningful.
