Beautiful place for a tropical getaway. The restaurant's dinner menu is delicious.
The rooms have a super comfortable bed.
The showers and toilet are in the same room as the bed with a very see through crystal door, so I would recommend this place for solo or couples.

We enjoyed a coffee and dessert here. All excellent! The decor and garden is all beautiful and well-cared for. It's in a really peaceful area. There is a swimming pool and there are also some little ponds in the pretty garden. The soft music adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The toilets have individual white hand towels to dry your hands with instead of paper towels. We didn't stay over, but asked to see one of the rooms. It looked clean, simple, and tastefully decorated. It seemed nice and fresh, with the A/C on despite not having occupants, I guess to make sure it didn't get a musty smell like some hotel rooms get in this tropical atmosphere.

This is, by all mean, one of my FAVORITE places to stay in this part of the island. I LOVE THIS HOTEL!! The view is spectacular from your room, the food is great, breakfast and the dinner, awesome!! The service is really good, rooms are really nice and clean. They should have more places like this over there, so you can go to the beaches around there, or to go to Rio San Juan, El Caleton de Rio San Juan or El Breton. Great place!!

This place is simply wonderful! The food is delicious and impeccably presented. Moreover, the ambiance is beautiful, offering stunning views and refreshing air. It's the perfect spot for a romantic date or a delightful meal with friends and family. You absolutely must experience it! 🍽🌿🌟

A beautiful property, gorgeous views. Staff helpful and friendly, nice menu. Nice pool area with enough sun loungers. The bed in our room did however creak whenever anyone moved or turned over. We stayed 2 nights, but if it was a longer stay then the lack of wardrobe would have become uncomfortable.

My fiancé, parents, sister, her fiancé and I (6 total) stayed at Catalina Tropical Lodge for 4 nights while visiting the DR (from Boston, MA, US) for a family wedding in Rio San Juan.

First, from a pre-arrival standpoint, Malene and her team could not have been more helpful relative to getting us booked in 3 rooms, answering any/all questions, coordinating a driver to pick-up one of our guests at the airport (he arrived at a separate time from the rest of us), etc. Truly a huge help and an excellent communicator.

Once onsite, the service was stellar and the staff was professional and fun. They enhanced our stay/experience in so many ways. We were genuinely sad to leave them.

Food and drink throughout our entire stay was exceptional. We unexpectedly hosted a dinner for 15ppl onsite -- with very short notice the entire CTL Team made the whole thing happen seamlessly.

If I had to nit-pick something, it'd be the lighting in the bathroom area of the room (just a bit dim) and perhaps some areas around the grounds could use touch-ups (the bottom of the pool, the outdoor grill, the space under the restaurant). Truly minor stuff that did not impact our stay in the slightest, but would elevate the vibe even further.

We will absolutely stay here again when we come back to visit our family.

Excellent place to stay in Cabrera and nearby areas. The facilities are very accommodating and the location is superb to get to know the North part of the DR. The location is quiet and trendy with a restful soul. From here, you can go to Saltadero, Laguna Dudu, and a very nice beach called Diamante. On site you’ll find a full bar and restaurant. The dinner menu was outstanding in flavor and quality which was a nice surprise. I fully recommend this location with pool on site and. Would be back without issues. Enjoy!

Catalina Lodge is a magical place. The level of detail and service is beyond our imagination. Rooms and grounds are beautiful. Food is top-notch, one of the best breakfast we've had. Worth repeating... we loved it.

Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly and very helpful. On top of it you get a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. The owners are lovely people making you feel welcome. Definitely recommend this restaurant/bar for a great meal.

The location is very nice, with a stunning view over the lush garden towards the Caribbean Sea. It is not „ on“ the beach but Playa Grande or Playa Preciosa ( some of the best beaches on the island) are a 10 min drive away.
The rooms are Scandinavian design, simple but very comfortable.
The crew will strive to make you happy, even if sometimes not everything is perfect.

This place is magical. A gem in the north-east coast of Dominican Republic. Rooms exceeded our expectations - decoration, amenities and cleanliness. The Food is just AMAZING, this is the best food I had in the entire coast, everything is SUPER fresh, great portions, good for the price you pay, and the flavors are just out of this world.

I would 10000x recommend, and will be coming back. Please go and if you live in DR, please supportt local, very proud to say this is in this location🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is my third time staying at Catalina Tropical Lodge. The location is perfect, the rooms are nice and clean, the food is delicious, and the overall space is captivating. I truly feel relaxed and at peace in this amazing place. Malene, Thomas and their staff are so nice and welcoming, and willing to accommodate guests' requests whenever possible. I can't wait to return, it has quickly become my favorite place to visit in the Dominican Republic.

This hotel is not only beautiful and the perfect little retreat in Cabrera, but has the kindest staff. The restaurant has delicious food with an even more spectacular view.

We live in Cabrera and dine at the restaurant frequently… every time it is fabulous! The food is always fresh, delicious & beautifully prepared. The view and ambience is heavenly and feels very high end. Best spot to dine, drink, lounge & tele-work in CABRERA!

We recently returned from a short three day stay at the Catalina Tropical Resort in Cabrera on the north shore of the Dominican Republic. This resort is beautiful with incredible hospitality. We were able to have a room with an ocean view. While the resort is near the ocean. It is a short drive to beautiful beaches. Warm water and soft sand what more could you need. The restaurant at the resort has delicious and creative dishes for your enjoyment. Marlene and Thomas, your hosts, go far above and beyond the call of duty. You won't be disappointed to holiday at this resort. We will be back soon.

Literally some of the best food I’ve ever had! This place is pure, unexpected luxury. The food is also so pretty. 😃 Million dollar views while you eat delicious art. And the unexpected sense of community with staff and patrons is a beautiful and much needed gift.
