Hacienda Los Mortiños

We had booked a stay at the beautiful hacienda. Pablo had picked us up from the airport and also drove us to our next accommodation. The rides were very pleasant. The house furnishings and small details of the hacienda is very nice. The staff, especially Allegra, are very friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty.
We can highly recommend a stay at the Hacienda.

Beautiful Hacienda close to Cotopaxi. The view is fantastic. From our room we can see Cotopaxi, rumiñahui and Sincholagua. Friendly staffs, serene and tranquil atmosphere. The only downside food portion is small and to Ecuador standard is quite expensive with $20 price tag for full course. But we love our stay there and of course will come back again in the future.

The beautiful hacienda and the tasteful rooms are in perfect condition and super clean, designed with a lot of charm. The service (Franklin, David and Alejandra) are very nice and super professional, they even baked a honeymoon cake for us and helped us with all our requests. The meals were delicious and home made with a choice of 2-3 healthy meals per day. The location and the view from the rooms and restaurant are breathtaking! We fell in love with Cotopaxi, especially on our horse back riding trip with David and Alejandra!

We had an excellent experience at Los Mortinos. The staff were icvredibly nice and accommodating, they prepared superb meals for breakfast and dinner, and helped us arrange exactly what we wanted for our day excursions in and around Cotopaxi. The hacienda is beautiful, feels very private surrounded in nature, and our room had a jacuzzi which was an added bonus after our days hiking. Would absolutely recommend this gem.

I stayed in this beautiful hacienda with my mother. It is located just outside the northern gate of Cotopaxi Nationalpark. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable, the house itself pretty and from the dining room you have a breathtaking view at the Cotopaxi volcano! The included breakfast was really, really good, as well as the dinner menu. Best part is the staff, they are all very friendly and courteous. Franklin, the manager, helped us with all our requests and organised the tours in this amazing landscape. Gracias!

Place is absolutely beautiful and well run. Food is delicious and fresh. Everyone is very attentive, friendly yet professional.
Surrounding nature is gorgeous.
We will definitely be back.

My partner and I spent one night at this beautiful hacienda. Even with the luck of a cloudy 24hours/limited visibility of Cotopaxi, we still enjoyed the thoughtful interiors, delicious food and bedroom fireplace. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Would love to make it back for horseback riding soon!

Stayed here as part of my tour with Andean Face tours where we hike from hacienda to hacienda. It was so lovely to be greeted here after a long walk with a welcome drink in the dining area with a stunning view of Cotopaxi. It’s pretty remote here but that is what allows insanely beautiful views from really large windows everywhere. It feels like there’s not another soul around. There were even alpacas that showed up right outside my window in the morning.

Despite being so remote, this place is very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were multicourse and delicious. There was good wifi. The rooms had 2 portable heaters, hair dryer, comfortable warm beds and hot showers. The staff was warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place!

This place is amazing! The owners are the most hospitable people I have ever met. I was made to feel at home and part of their family immediately. The location is in walking distance to Cotopaxi National Park. The property is well maintained and there is plenty space for hiking, though not allowed in the park at this time. (Horses, bikes and cars ONLY are allowed in the Park) The horses were well maintained and the guides were very knowledgeable (speak mostly Spanish). I was traveling alone and Pablo, the owner, was always on the look out for me, if I was hiking alone..in case I would get into to trouble or get caught in a storm. I did get caught in a storm and he went out looking for me. He is a 40 year mountaineer with allot of wisdom and experience. (I felt so safe) The food was great! Staff wonderful! Internet was good in a few places in the hacienda...sometimes on and off..but mostly on for me. The rooms are amazing with wonderful views of various volcanos, and the refuge extremely clean and comfortable. They do have plenty of hot water, but you must ask for it and it will be available within 5 minutes. I am homesick for this place already and it has only been 2 weeks home...Can't wait to return!!!!!!

Majestic place located close to Cotopaxi with an incredible view of the mountain. The staff here was incredible and the place and rooms are top notch. Can’t recommend this hacienda enough. If you are looking for a place that provides a nice B&B feel this is the place for you.

Just in love with this place. A meditative stop in the middle of running around sightseeing spots, excursions and tourists. This place in the middle of nowhere, no hotels, tourists around, only this volcano that you see every morning while having breakfast.. we did horse riding, walking around and enjoying our life's, and wish to you too :)

I stayed here prior to hiking up to Cotopaxi. I would highly recommend staying here. The staff treated me like a king, the food was absolutely delicious, healthy, and impressive. My room had a view of Cotopaxi as well. Price can't be beat for the value. I'll definitely be staying here again. Oh and a big thanks to the chef Freddie for taking good care of me.

Llamas and horses graze in the background and in the evening plenty of cute, little rabbits hop over the field. This hotel is very nicely designed with big panoramic windows in every room and cosy fire places in the evening.

My boyfriend and I did a 2 weeks trip around Ecuador that started with a 3-day stay in Los Mortinos. Hacienda Los Mortinos is a gem! with spectacular views that can only be seen from there since it is located right in the middle of 4 volcanoes: Cotopaxi, Ruminahui, Sincholagua, and Pasochoa. You can also see the Pichincha volcanoes from the hacienda. The service at Hacienda Los Mortinos is spectacular, it makes one feel at home, so much that we were a little nostalgic of having to leave that place. The manager (Mr. Fernandez) is an incredible host, he was super attentive to every detail of our stay, full of good tips and a lovely energy (he even gave us a little souvenir when we checked out). The food is very tasty, the rooms have spectacular views with windows that look directly at the volcanoes, the cleanliness is first class. Every morning we woke up looking directly at the volcanoes from our room windows! Mr. Fernandez helped us organize our daily activities, one of which was ascending to the Cotopaxi refuge and descending by mountain bicycle. In addition to that, every evening we enjoy walks around the property with Lupe (the lovely farm dog) and got to see llamas, bulls, and cows. It was definitely the perfect place to start our trip and we are very grateful to all the Los Mortinos staff for having filled us with good vibes and having made our stay there an unforgettable memory for us.

As allmost all tourists left the country during the trouble times, i was even here by myself. Carlos and the staff made it an unforgettable time, they Even opened the clouds on cotopaxi in the afternoon, very good food, kolibris up here. I felt so comfortable in this wonderful lodge, Hope so much for them, that tourists will come back soon, it is a very unique place in the world. Roads are good enough for this area! Fire in the oven kept me warm all night Long.

Great place. The best place we stayed in Ecuador. Amazing views, the owners are the most welcoming people, they know very well the area and provide many activities (horse riding, hiking, guided tours, ecc). Food is great and staff is friendly. A must-go!

A place for those looking for the best views of vulcans in Equador, at the north entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, with an amazing view of Cotopaxi. The Hotel is a beautiful farm full of wild life and with great outdoors, offering plenty of activities and with a relaxing a calm atmosphere to enjoy a couple of days away from the buzz of the urban life. The food is good and the staff is superb. Franklin and his colleagues were very helpful, while the owner was a very nice person. I will definitely go back to Hosteria los Mortinos.
