We did the Yumbos Chocolate Tour with tasting for only $10 a person and it was totally worth it. We learned how the history of chocolate, how it's grown, & the different kinds. How it's harvested, fermented, grinded down, stirred for days then put into the chocolate bar molds. Very neat and it supports the women with children that grow it. The secret is to suck on it! I am serious. The chocolate is so delicious and unique I can taste the sweetness of the cacao seeds.🤤 Right now I am eating the 60%. I really enjoyed the 70% as well. My fellow traveler enjoyed the dark, 100% cacao nibs.

We did the chocolate tour at Yumbos and it was amazing. The guide was super interessant and we felt at home. We had hot chocolate, home made brownie. We learned a lot about the chocolate production in Ecuador. We also had the chance to test the different chocolate tablets produced by Yumbos : delicious!

Delicious chocolate. They do tours here; for $10 (45 mins) you get a whole tour of how they make the chocolate, taste all the chocolates and it includes hot chocolate and some other treats. For $5 they give you a condensed explanation (20–25mins) of how they make the chocolate, and a taste of all the chocolates and it also includes a hot chocolate.

We did not do any of the tours, just had a chance to taste the chocolates.

We bought their bag of chocolate capsules to make hot chocolate for $15 and a couple of the orange dark chocolate which was delicious but $6 for a 60gram bar. Very expensive, but they claim it’s ethically sourced and organic.

I enjoyed this tour. They made an exception and accomodated me even though I was solo, traditionally, they only do groups.
Tour guude, William spoke English. He knew all of the gritty details of chocolate production.

You can just go there and do an one hour chocolate tour where the guide explains all the steps from the tree to the chocolate itself. It comes with a lot of tasting of different kinds of chocolate. No need to book anything in advance. The guide speaks good english and is really friendly and helpful

Very nice place to learn about the process of making chocolate bars from cocoa pods and also taste the different kinds of chocolate obtained for the brand. Totally recommended if you are visiting Mindo, specially buying some chocolate bars since the quality is top notch.

Good chocolate tour with very friendly staff. Lots of chocolate to taste and the hot chocolate was really good too. Nice quaint shop with a few live cacao plants on the back. The company has a social mission to empower cacao farming women in Ecuador, teaching them the job and processes, and buying directly from them.

The coffee chocolate is some of the best ive tasted. We also did the Outstanding tour in English. They really know their chocolate in here. The process was interactive and very tasty! It was great to hear about all they try and do to get a fair deal for the chocolate growers in Ecuador too. Recommend this place for a great personal experience.

Amazing tour showing how chocolate is made. I thought I hated dark chocolate... It ends up I hate all the filler used by candy bar makers (real chocolate is expensive so that the first to get cut).
Our guide Jonatan was very nice, spoke English well and answered all our questions.
Very enjoy couple of hours. I think it's $8 to get in per person but you pay at the end when you buy all the chocolate after the tour so can't say for sure. Bout a lot of chocolate and syrups.
Great time learned lots, and best of all samples!!

Best brownie we've ever had! We also tried the one at Quetzal Cafe, but the one at Yumbos was SO much better! It's soft and full of flavor. And the cafe has a wonderful fresh chocolate smell where you can see the process of making it.
