Cacao Mindo

We asked the locals at one of the restaurants in Mindo for the best chocolate tour, they sent us here.

Not a tour as such, more an experience.

We started by getting the differences explained between different cacao sorts...and tasting the white stuff they are coated with when fresh (delicious), the on to drying, roasting our own beans and grinding them.

All ended in sampling different combinations of flavours and ultimately a delicious chocolate fondue...yummy.

Miguel our guide was super passionate and extremely knowledgeable...He was awesome.

Amazing! The cacao tour was interesting and the tastings were delicious. The owner is really keen about organic and sustainable produce. The result is the best chocolate I have ever had. They also make many other products.

Great tour with interesting facts about cacao and chocolate! Our English speaking guide was really good and nice. All the things you can try in the end are so delicious an der buying stuff at the shop isn’t expensive at all!

Very nice tour today, explaining all about cacao, the plant, the stages to proces it, difference between natural and manipulate chocolate both in english and spanish. And best of all, enough to taste!
I haven't seen Cacao Mindo on being on tripadvisor, otherwise i would have left a comment there :)

Fantastic tour, both English and Spanish-speaking. Probably one of the best brownies you'll ever have. Be sure to try the Chocolate Ice (chocolate milk on steroids) and the juice of the cocoa.

A very interesting tour showing the whole process of producing chocolate. Also lots of other tasty stuff done from cacao plants: wine, beer, spices etc.

Really enthusiastic owner, he let us try a real Cacao fruit icy.

Para los amantes del chocolate esta es una excelente opción, en un recorrido de aproximadamente una hora se muestra todo el proceso para la producción del chocolate. La atención es excelente y es muy interactivo, pero considero que hace falta más señaletica en el lugar y un parqueadero.

Excelente, muy divertido participar en la fabricación y el proceso de crear Chocolate de calidad 100% ecuatoriano. Te envuelves en la historia del producto y participas en cada etapa. Los guías demuestran ser grandes conocedores y la amabilidad y el trato son muy buenos.

Bonita experiencia para conocer todos los beneficios del Cacao Fino de Aroma. En pleno pueblo de Mindo no se necesita ir muy lejos. Económico

L'un (le ??) des meilleurs tours du chocolat à mindo. Très artisanal, les propriétaires parlent espagnol et anglais et sont aux petits soins ! Apprentissage de la fabrication du cacao et du chocolat, visite de leur petit jardin et de leurs plantes aromatique. Fabrication de notre propre cacao et dégustation de ce dernier avec des sirops fait maisons avec leurs plantes du jardin. Conclusion avec une fondue au chocolat 😍.
Le restaurant pratique des prix dans la moyenne de mindo mais la qualité et au rendez vous et ils tendent à utiliser un maximum de produits locaux et de chez eux. Leurs plats sont très bon et l'utilisation du cacao et produits dérivés est quasi présenté dans tous les plats sans être trop présente. De très bons moments passés ici tant dans l'atelier que dans le restaurant !

Les recomiendo tomar el tour del cacao, lo ofrecen en éste café. Los encargados son muy amables y realizan una excelente explicación sobre la fabricación artesanal del chocolate. Puedes hacer tú propio chocolate, recibir consejos, probar combinaciones muy buenas y aprender sobre varios usos del cacao. Lo chévere es que lo haces tú mismo mientras te dan estos datos. Es un tour que quisiera repetir.
Extra: la miel de cacao y el jugo de cacao son buenísimos. Me recomendaron un cóctel de cacao pero no tuve el tiempo de probarlo así que avísenme que tal 🙆

Excelente lugar! Hermosamente decorado, el tour de cacao maravilloso. Todos los productos de excelente calidad precio!!! El brownie es celestial!!! Las cervezas artesanales de cacao, uff! 100% recomendado!!!

Super expérience ! A ne vraiment pas rater si vous passez par Mindo. Un tour complet: on apprend, goute, touche, fabrique et déguste ! Le tout avec gentillesse et convivialité !

Una experiencia maravillosa.

Excelente sitio para degustar un buen chocolate caliente. Hacen también un Tour del cacao que vale la pena. Muy recomendable!!!

Excelente lugar... El chocolate orgánico es increíble y delicioso... Puedes hacer tus propias mezclas de acuerdo a tus gustos... Totalmente recomendado!!!
