Las Terrazas de Dana Boutique Lodge & Spa

This resort was the absolute highlight of our trip. Amazing service--5 stars!! They even made a cake for my husband and sang happy birthday. They met us at the car with umbrellas when it was raining. The food in their restaurant is amazing too! They had a very clean relaxing pool and a spa where we got a couples massage. The views from the room are nothing short of stunning. They will even help set up a bird tour for you and we recommend doing that as it was very fun. We highly recommend staying with them. Thank you David and the entire team...we will be back!

This resort is an amazing place. The rooms are spaced beautifully in an amazing garden setting. The decks are all situated so you are completely private. The staff is extraordinary friendly and helpful. The restaurant offered a variety of entries and all we tried were excellent. We extended our stay by another day because we did not want to leave paradise

Great place. Great breakfast, very good coffee, nice rooms, nice shower and Jacuzzi. Beautiful setting. Great location for hiking and super close to the chairlifts to get to all the waterfalls. Super friendly staff.

Best place we stayed in Ecuador! Beautiful grounds, stunning view, perfect location to all Mindo activities but best part was service! Was there with 2 kids (10 & 12) - they loved it! Thank u Marcos!

There aren’t many words to describe the incredible service of this hotel. It’s the best service we have ever received hands down. We’ve been to Mindo 10+ times and no place comes close to this hotel in overall experience. They only say yes to all of your requests and every single thing you need they get for you. I absolutely loved being here and will see them again so soon. Don’t think twice, just book it.

We had an amazing time at Las terrazas de Dana. The place is absolutely beautiful and there are lots of birds on the property (hummingbirds, toucans, tanagers...). We had a bungalow with mountain view which was really nice and had a truly beautiful view. Everybody at the property was extremely nice and attentive to every little detail. The food at the restaurant is very tasty and provides both local and international dishes.

Exceptional hotel with great staff. Property is immaculate and clean, with good sized rooms and fast wifi (not that you should use it :) Loved the food from the restaurant and room service.

Really cool full body showers en suite too, a must try.

I'm honestly not sure where to begin in writing this review...my time at Las Terrazas was so special and beautiful. We (my husband, teenage son and I) visited the Lodge in Mindo for 3 nights after our Galapagos cruise and could not have found a more beautiful, comfortable respite for the second part of our trip. Our cabin was perfect for us, and the grounds and view were...stunning. David's hospitality was second to none, truly. I have NEVER felt so taken care of in a hotel. From the airport where we were picked up upon arrival to the moment we were dropped back off, we were in the best of hands. And the food...oh my goodness, the food - delicious and...ample to say the least.

Over a year before our trip I reached out and asked David about a package, told him what I wanted to do, and he handled everything - planned our activities with perfect pacing, drove us where we needed to be, and had it all taken care of. We ate all of our meals on site, either at the restaurant overlooking the breathtaking view, or on the lovely deck of our bungalow. Again, delicious!!

On an extra note - 3 nights was perfect for our stay. We hiked the waterfall trail (BEAUTIFUL), did the chocolate tour (fascinating), birdwatching (parrots, toucans and more oh my!), ziplining (SO fun!), and the butterfly pavilion (very pretty). The timing of everything allowed us to be active and to rest, to enjoy what Mindo has to offer and bask in the beauty and serenity of the Lodge.

This boutique hotel is simply delightful. The owner truly made our trip and provided recommendations and bookings for the area. Everyone was friendly and incredibly hospitable. The place itself is stunning- lots of cute birds, beautiful scenery. The rooms are huge, clean, and accommodating. Our breakfast was very delicious. Mindo is charming, and there’s lots of hiking in the area. We were sad to leave.

Incredible!!!! I’m not usually compelled to write reviews but this place is so amazing i feel inspired to sing from the roof tops about it! A peaceful oasis ~ the rooms have a view of the mountains, every detail.. the landscaping, the greeting area, restaurant, rooms… are tended with beauty in detail and care… the food is some of the best I’ve had in all my travels in Ecuador. David & all the people who work here attended to every care & need with care. This is a place that feels like it is made with care and love.

My wife, daughter and I had the most amazing experience at this resort last week. David and Dana have the gift of hospitality and are some of the best hosts we have ever experienced. They and their staff make you feel at home and ensure that your time surpasses expectations.

Room – The beds were super comfortable. We slept fantastic which is rare for us away from home. The bathroom and back porch with floor to ceiling windows were also highlights. We woke up each morning to the sounds of the birds and the river that runs nearby. We also really enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from our porch throughout the day.

Food – Food was fantastic. They have a great chef. We chose to have our breakfast brought to our balcony each morning and it was a real treat. They serve a variety of both local and international dishes that are sure to please. We loved everything we tried. Their service is also super flexible. Meaning, you can either eat in your room or at the restaurant and can choose the timing that best suits you.

Activities and Fun – Here is a list of the activities we enjoyed within walking distance from this resort – Butterfly Sanctuary, Cable Car and Waterfall hikes, Ziplining and Chocolate Tour. Again, they are very flexible with helping create the getaway that best suits your personality. We are the type that like to self-guide on our own pace and schedule. Anna and David were cool with this and gave us fantastic planning advice to ensure we were successful. They even have a dog named Kira who guided us on the path from the resort to the cable car. If you prefer formal tours, they have fantastic relationships and great prices with local tour providers and can arrange anything Mindo offers without much notice.

Spa – We used several of the spa services and they were really top notch.

Transportation – If you need transportation to and from Quito like we did, they provided a fantastic and inexpensive service with SUV and professional drivers to and from the resort. Our driver even stopped at the Equator on the way to the resort so that we could take photos.

Value – We have stayed at 5* resorts throughout the world and would rate this one 6*s if we could. If you are in Ecuador and want to relax, refresh and enjoy the cloud forest, you can not go wrong. It was worth far more than we paid. We will definitely try to return.

Really think this is a beautiful spot for a Mindo experience. The staff n service really made the stay special. Food was better than other hotels and locations we stayed. Grrat wines to choose from. I had a wonderful massage. If you are going to Mindo this shoe the bed for your stay

Absolutely AMAZING place to relax (Nov 2021). Breathtaking property, clean & comfortable rooms, delicious food. There's a beautiful terrace in your private bungalow for bird watching and to drink a cup of coffee -- unique, beautiful experience! Stop looking around and book this spot! Favorite place I've ever stayed, even after my 20+ countries of travel.

David and Ana were helpful and VERY responsive to all my questions about transportation, activities, Galapagos cruises (definitely should've checked in with them before booking). Tried chatting with ~5 other hotels in Mindo, and Las Terrazas de Dana was 100% the most responsive, best quality for the cost definitely.

We did a half day birding tour with Julia -- and it was the best birding I've ever done; a QUETZAL (gorgeous!), 3 species of Toucans, hawks (a hawk hunting a toucan!), a potoo, 40+ other birds. Julia is AMAZING; 100% recommend trying to book a tour with her if you can.

Very large rooms include private decks with beautiful views of jungle and mountains. They stock a selection of craft beers. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. The location is very quiet and remote from Mindo down a dirt road. Rooms/bungalows are up a steep path from reception and pool and are well spaced out for privacy.

Perfect location in a beautiful cloud forest. Staff is spectacular, rooms are stunning and views are breathtaking.

What an amazing stay. Very beautiful hotel and excellently maintained. Nice, large pool with an amazing jacuzzi in the room. Private area that is safe and quiet at night. The owners of the hotel are amazing human beings and will make you feel so welcome that you will only want to visit here when you are in Mindo. English is spoken, high water pressure and non-stop hot water. The food was also amazing (I recommend the Tigrillo for breakfast and the Trucho for dinner). Highly recommended!!!

Had an INCREDIBLE stay here in June 2021. The customer service was out of this world, they would help us get taxis to activities we were interested in. The place is gorgeous & clean, and for that price? My mind was blown. I felt like I arrived in paradise. They would go out of their way to help us, like breaking our large bills. Their manicurist was extremely talented, kind, and a great conversationalist. I cannot recommend this place enough.
