El Cheff de Mindo

Really nice restaurant in Mindo. The steak and special stone steak are great. The trout, however, is out of this world. It is caught locally (the steaks and most everything but the seafood are local also, to be fair), but the trout is really special and is a typical favorite in the area. Definitely did not disappoint.

Delicious! The steak tenderloin melts in your mouth! The papas fritas are yummy and so are the fried plantains. Remember to get them with queso! The food came out extremely fast. We also got a pitcher of lemonada. Refreshing.

Our driver recommended El Cheff de Mindo. For our first meal in Mindo he highly recommended the Tilapia and the TROUT (Trucha). When we got there it seemed that their specialty was the Lomo a la Piedra. (When in doubt order all!)
So we had all of the above and the chicken. The trout was fantastic!
The tilapia tasted very well, though compared to the trout it fell a bit flat.
The trout was served as a fillet, while the tilapia was the whole fish.
The sides were rice and pickled veggies which were really really tasty. We had the Lomo (medium) with fries, they did not lie about this being their specialty. It was quite a large piece of simply delicious meat.
The chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, just like chicken should be.
All of this cost us $30.
I would highly recommend this place.
The restaurant was nice and clean.

Despite my very positive review, I have to give this restaurant 4 stars. Reason being that the street dogs came inside sometimes some times.

Buenos precios (platos entre 5 y 10 usd al 02/18), especialmente, por la calidad de la comida. Su especialidad es el bife a la piedra. Ampliamente recomendado.
