South Sinai Travel Group

We organised a 9 day tour in Egypt thru South Sinai Tours, and have just returned. I can't praise this travel group enough. Absolutely nothing went wrong and we felt safe at all times. We were met at the airport before we even arrived at Customs, by Akram, their airport representative, who looked after our entire time in Cairo, and was there to greet us on our return from Abu Simbel and put us on a plane back home the next day. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We had our own private car, driver (the BEST driver in Cairo), tour guide (Egyptologist Mr Hassan), and they showed us the best that Cairo had to offer. In hindsight, we would have preferred to spend an entire day at the Egyptian Museum rather than 3 hours, but we didn't realise the size of it and how much there was to see. After Cairo, we flew to Luxor where we had 4 nights cruising up the Nile to Aswan, catching all the temples and places of interest on the way. On our final day we flew to Abu Simbel, which was one of the many highlights of our tour. Our Egyptologist tour guide during this time was Hatem, who was brilliant. Every day was wonderful and perfect. I highly recommend you use this travel agent if you go to Egypt and more importantly, Egypt is desperate for travellers to return to it's beautiful country. Had two tours from Cairo booked with South Sinai Travel. First one was full day Memphis, Saqqara and Pyramids. Second was part day covering the Alabaster Mosque, Egyptian Museum and Khan el Khalili market. Our tour guide was Fouad Salah Berto and he really was first class. He is a qualified Egyptologist and was an absolutely first class guide; he was so knowledgeable and helpful. Also, Fouad was street-wise and dead and he acted as our protector from pestering traders etc.The transportaion was new and very clean. Our driver, Mohamed, was careful and brilliant at negotiating Cairo traffic. The tours involved stops at a Carpet School and a Papyrus Studio. In both cases the quality of goods on show was excellent and we didn't feel any pressure to buy anything, although having said that we did buy 3 carpets! Maybe we did overpay a bit but we negotiated prices down and are delighted with the things we bought. Fouad also rearranged our airport transportaion to fit in better with our tour schedule and as far as we are concerned, the whole experience was excellent.

Took a private tour with this group. They gave great personal service and the guides were very knowledgeable about the each of the historic locations.
