Cortijo El Carligto

Absolutely amazing stay, the pictures don't do it justice. I could post picture after picture of this place. Sit back and enjoy the environment and the your time in a beautiful location. The trip up is part of the adventure. Been home a week, already looking at booking another fall vacation in 2024.

The drive from the nearest two villages can seem a bit daunting as you navigate through steep climbs and sharp turns, but I assure you it is worth it! The views from El Carligto extend throughout The Valley and down to the Mediterranean, with lovely grounds and a pool that take full advantage of the southern sun. Allen is an incredible host, and I strongly recommend hiring Chef David for some of his delicious and creative meals!

Amazing place. Location-wise, it's perched precariously on the edge of a rocky, vine-clad outcrop in the foothills of the Axarquia. Views in every direction are stunning.

Inside, it's all very interiors mag-y, with lots of well-chosen antique pieces and tasteful soft furnishings mixed with wonky wooden beams and rough rendered white walls. All very rustic chic, indeed. Outside there are extensive (and well-kept) gardens and outdoor seating areas which meander down to an infinity pool.

What is it? An old cortijo (or farmhouse), it's a sort of stylish luxury holiday home which, from the cultural/gastronomic tours they can lay on, to the full catered board options (owners Alan and Marc are serious foodies) is really rather unique.

Had a wonderful stay here with the family. Stunning setting. Lovely rustic but beautifully appointed villa. Alan couldn't have been more helpful. Hope to return. Highly recommended.

Mark and Al are amazing hosts and the villa is to die for! Can't wait to be back in the spring :)

D: Fantastische Unterkunft. Tausend interessante Details anzusehen. Sehr gute Dekoration, alles sehr gepflegt (innen und aussen). Traumhafte Lage, sehr ruhig und kein Verkehr.
UK: Phantastic guesthouse. Location is a dream. Many details to observe and to enjoy, owners paid a lot of attention to details. Good and interesting decoration. Fabulous service. Very quiet. Absolutely no traffic. Ideal to relax.
