Parador de Cangas de Onis

Special place to stay in an old converted monastery. We had good experience with half-board, a good breakfast and the evening meal was good too. In this instance, the service was perfect. We did not have to wait, despite the dining room being quite full with parties of people. On the downside, we were unable to eat until 9 pm, which is very late for us. We had a wonderful room which was spacious and included sofa and chairs, the television connects to Google so you can cast your device and watch whatever you want if you need to. The room was exceptionally clean and well serviced.

Beautiful place with good service. We particularly enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Being able to swim in the river nearby (past the monastery, turn right, possibly 500m along the track and there in the left is the stoney "beach") was a highlight. The waiter in the bar area was graceful and cheerful. Relaxed, attending but my obsequious. Perfect. Please do pass our thanks on to your entire team.

Excellent. Wonderful setting. Beautiful building. Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was a substantial buffet with a wide range of choice. Dinner in the restaurant was a little pricey but delicious.
The price of the rooms per night reflect the level of luxury and attention to detail. Definitely stay again. Thank you

My favourite Parador where the staff actually seem to enjoy working there. Lovely courtyard bar and the monastereo was so interesting and a pleasure to stay in. Cangas is a lovely little town with lovely bars where you can sample local ciders and cheeses.

I went only for the Romanesque carvings in the old church which is integrated into the hotel. They were well worth the visit. But I can also recommend the coffee and the quality of service.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff. We stayed as a large family group with 2 young kids and 3 babies and they were extremely accommodating and eager to help. Diner was good and breakfast was incredible. Playground out back for the kids, beautiful little chapel, patio tables in the cloister for an afternoon coffee or a post diner drink.

Reception was very smooth with some English spoken. We had a superior room in the monastery itself, which was very well equipped and comfortable. The bar area was
lovely - a lounge and seating in the cloisters.
Breakfast was excellent - a large choice at each course.
The setting was peaceful but also close to Onis for eating out of an evening, and there was ample parking.

What an amazing place! Set in the grounds next to an ancient Romanesque church this Parador IS perfect. It has so many things to offer and is a living museum as well. What about a restaurant, spa, museum and the history of the church. It has a cheese bar for foodies! Of course Asturias is one of the most important areas of cheese production in Spain. All set very near the Pico's de Europa National Park. A great place to visit and stay!

Great home base to explore the area. Don't miss the tour of the property with the director (in Spanish though) to get a sense of the history of the place, and the cheese tasting that follows. Friendly staff ready to be of help.

Free concert at the paridor. Group plying mainly English mid 70s songs. Very good setting within beautiful building

Sublime location. Rooms are huge and recently decorated to a very high standard. The restaurant is fantastic and overall great value for money. Would stay again!

Absolutely fabulous. What a great and historical place, it’s like sleeping in a museum.

It is the most superb & welcoming & relaxed place to stay. The reception, bar, restraint & cleaning staff are exceptionally good, cheerful & helpful.

Stopped in for a quick look around and loved this place. Gorgeous courtyard in such a beautiful setting, steeped in amazing history. Would love to stay at some point.

Fancy hotel but anyone with a budget can visit the beautiful inside including the romanesque church and have a glass of wine in the courtyard. They also have lots of cultural events that are open to hotel guests and visitors.

Great ambience in a historical place. Great service. An old monastery with a church that you can visit, attached to it.

Turned from monetary to Hotel, this place has a great restaurant, lovely rooms and a great historic environment in the hills.
