The Boma

We were staying in a nearby hotel for a friend's wedding and stumbled here by chance - what a gem! The service was fantastic, really warm and friendly. The food was fresh, tasty and hearty and they were really good for accommodating our big group. Atmosphere was relaxed and casual.

The soups were out of this world - and they have plenty of gluten free choices. Would highly recommend!

Special thanks to the personal , they were extra friendly and managed to satisfy my girlfriend’s requirements for food (She is very strict with ingredients)

What an amazing experience. We were staying in a villa close by and it worked out to be a 15 minutes walk. We stopped on the way back one night and all tried the South African chicken curry which was amazing so tasty. We then booked the Easter Thursday and enjoyed a 3 course meal. All was amazing and delicious! We would 100% recommend the lovely restaurant. Amazing service and the most friendly staff. Thank you so much.

If you're in the area of Alhaurin el Grande then a visit to The Boma is definitely worth it, especially on a Sunday for the Sunday Roast... lovely.. and great sticky toffee pudding.
Just hope there are not the loudmouthed Brits there that we had the second evening, spoiling it for EVERYONE.
(They were apparently friends of the husband one of the ladies that works there.. she should leave her husband at home)

Had a great meal here. Garlic bread to start large portion and drenched in garlic butter. Then one chicken curry and one prawn Thai green curry. Both really tasty spicy but not hot. Finished with honeycomb ice cream best ever tasted and upside cheesecake, like eating a cloud. Sangria, coffee and amarula to finish. Absolutely lovely meal and added bonus all the staff were exceptionally friendly.
Would have gone back tonight but not open.
Thoroughly recommend and extremely reasonably priced.

One of the best Chicken Currys i have had, 100% sugest visiting!! Very nice service and pocket friendly prices combined with tasty South African food. Great place!

Enjoyed The Boma very much. We went there on a Saturday night with the band New Tricks playing (great music). The staff were very friendly
happy and helpful. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We both had the Cajun Tuna which was cooked superbly. I will definitely be returning to The Boma. To go on a Saturday night with a band playing booking in advance is essential.

Love this place been coming here for years , great good ,menu changes with seasons which makes a nice change and my kids also love coming here which is also a bonus.
The summer chickpea chicken salad was lovely.

Amazing place! Loads of gluten free options which was great for one of our party. All the staff were super friendly, food was sizeable portions and delicious in equal measures. Fab way to end our trip

Fantastic South-African restaurant. They do amazing Thai Green Curry and Mussels as well as traditional SA dishes. Lovely balcony with mountain views

Very nice South African restaurant against a hill just inside the boarders of Alhaurín el Grande. Although the choice is somewhat limited, I could easily find a very tasteful dish and enjoy the view from the terrace. To get to the parking you'll have to make two very sharp turns on the narrow road that leads you up/down. I compliment the chef for the way he/she prepared my food. I recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food as always… The Lamb Potjie is to die for !! Great entertainment on tonight with music from New Tricks. All washed down with an Irish Coffee 😊 Perfect.
