Café Fanny

It’s a cute little Café with quite the cozy atmosphere and regional specialties. My sister and I shared a shrove bun and a Runeberg both are regional specialties which are usually seasonal but they have them all year round. We also had a “dirty chai” (Chai tea with an espresso shot) each and water. I thought it is really cool that the water is free (which is not so common if you’re from Germany… it is common in Finland for tap water to be free though) and I really like the little “supply station” they have where you can get water, sugar, forks etc. (you do need to pay for the tea from that station!).
All in all I would definitely recommend having a cup of code or tea and pastries here!

Chose Cafe Fanny to try the famous Runeberg cake. It's a quaint lil cafe with friendly staff. They offer a bunch of cakes, pastries and delicacies with coffee, hot chocolate and other beverages.

Outdoor seating gives a view of the old Porvoo town and is very relaxing. Do try the Runeberg cake - you must since Porvoo is the place where it was created. Runeberg torte (Finnish: runebergintorttu; Swedish: Runebergstårta) is a Finnish torte flavored with almonds and arrack or rum and weighing about 100 grams. It usually has raspberry jam encircled by a ring of icing on top.

Stopped in for coffee and breakfast yesterday. Great cafe in Old Town Porvoo. The Korvapuusti were OUTSTANDING. Warm and Fresh first thing in the morning. Took a few with me back to Prague. Really nice atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Best cinnamon bun (korvapuusti) I have eaten in my life.
I don't know if it was just good timing or if they are always as good.

It is a self-service cafe. The staff was nice. The location is great, especially when the weather allows it to sit outside. It is directly at the old square.

Must try Runeberg, best cake ever, even for a non-cake person.

Spent a day in Porvoo and luckily found this cafe with pretzel sign in front of it. They serve Runeberg cake, the original cake of Porvoo with raspberry jam on top. Also tried the cafe latte and yoghurtkaka. Perfect chew and sip with a view 😍

We stumbled upon Cafe Fanny while exploring Porvoo and were delighted by the place. Sitting outside with tea and a Runeberg torte and a Sacher torte, we watched the unique corvids caught our breath and indulged our sweet tooth. The women working at the cafe were kind and knowledgeable and spoke perfect English, and the other patrons were friendly.

Good coffee and rich breakfast! Finally tasted a Runeberg cake, and it did not let me down! The yogurt was also very nice and tasty! Great location with lovely interior space

Prior to visiting, I'd only ever briefly frequented this establishment many years ago, to buy a bottle of water on a very hot summer's day. Having recently just visited, I highly recommend the delectable coffee and food! Will definitely visit again.

When in Porvoo, one must try the Runebergin Torte and this cafe has the best torte. Very small beautiful cafe in the middle of the old town square. Loved the Runebergin Torte there.

We really loved this little gem of a cafe. The cakes and pastries we had were all outstanding - we tried three of them and had nothing but good things to say, and the coffee was absolutely excellent. But what really takes the cake is the location and the atmosphere - it can't be beaten or replicated. It's simply amazing!

Quaint town of Porvoo has such nice eateries on either side of the road. Ideal for a beer and a nibble on a sunny afternoon

Very cute cafe. English speaking with goggl. We had broccoli cheese feta and manteli. Right in the centre of the square.

Great place for coffee on a nice patio. The salmon quiche (lohipiirakka) is unreal.

A nice little cafe in the centre of old town Porvoo, the service was friendly and the pastries and cake delicious. They offer free refills, which is a nice option and reflects on the general attitude of service. The place is very cute and cozy. The decor fits the old town atmosphere and makes this a great place to stop and relax while visiting old town Porvoo.

Great cafe with impeccable customer service. Ordered baby chinos for the children and did not realise that is not a thing in Finland and the lady bought out coffees. They replaced them with milk and refunded the money. Despite the fact it was a fault of ours not theirs. Chai latte was delicious

One of the only places that was open 9:30 AM when I irrived to Porvoo by bike. I was also happily surprised by gluten free options. Nice terrace to enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice pie. Very good service as well.
