Cafe Chingon

I have been living in Finland for years and this is the only place that has the authentic Mexican flavor, it tastes like 'casa'. The owners are really nice people that take the time to explain you the whole process that takes every dish together with the tradition and story of the dish, I totally recommend it.

Very authentic! The owners are so nice and friendly and good at explaining the food. Nice decor. They have special menus sometimes which should be reserved ahead of time, a bit pricey but worth it!

Great Mexican food in the heart of Turku. Fantasic service by the owners who clearly love what they do and it shows in the food and service. Also great specialty coffee beans for sale that you won't find elsewhere in Finland.

This is my favorite place to eat at. It is not easy to find authentic Mexican food in Finland, however this cafe does it fantastically. They even have a stamp card that after so many visits gets you a free Mexican specialty. I love the calm atmosphere, music, and lunch specials. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend this cafe.

The buñuelos are handmade there and were so crispy and tasty. I can recommend. I tried the tamales too, good they had vegetarian options but one was a little bit dry.
Hopefully, next time we can try more things like the chilaquiles and the tortilla soup.

Chingon in Turku is an absolute treasure for anyone seeking an authentic Mexican dining experience. I am a frequent visitor, and each visit reaffirms my love for this place.

The service at Chingon is consistently friendly and welcoming. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, and they always accommodate my request for spicier dishes, which I greatly appreciate.

What truly sets Chingon apart is the authenticity of their food. You can taste the difference with every bite; it's like a culinary journey to Mexico. They use fresh ingredients that elevate the flavors, and I've been told that many of these ingredients are imported directly from Mexico by the owners, which adds to the genuine experience.

The ambiance is relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or a cozy date night. Chingon is a gem in Turku, as it's the only place I know of that serves truly authentic Mexican food. And let's not forget the lush coffee they offer; it's a delightful way to end a meal.

I can't recommend Chingon enough. If you're in Turku and craving authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place to go. It's a culinary journey that never disappoints!

The flavors are excellent, the technique wonderful, the structure of the meal deal a delight! Also the owners are super knowledgeable, skilled and also very nice! I am so happy that this is now here in Turku! Finland's capital of cuisine has another gem!

I’ve lived years in Mexico and I can say that this café is the only place in Finland that serves REAL Mexican food, the kind that your Mexican grandmother or mother in law makes. I highly recommend it. The owners are super sweet. My Mexican daughter was in heaven eating here. We live in Helsinki but will start travelling to Turku only to eat these sopes and tamales. Delicious.

The perfect way to travel to Mexico being in the middle of Turku 🇲🇽. You have to enter through a building and follow the instructions to get to this amazing Mexican restaurant. The food tastes authentic and there are vegan options with lots of flavour. The atmosphere and the attention is very cozy.
There is a lunch offer that includes the main dish (veg option too), the drink and dessert of the day and also coffee; all that for €12,5.

Delicious tamale and coffee roasted on the spot. Lovely owners, who introduce the most autenthic mexican experience to the Turku coffee and food scene. A genuine and unique place. I will definitely come back for more.

I'd highly recommend this nice family-owned cafe. Tamales taste very authentic just as it should be. And also I think this place should be pointed on every coffee geek's map cause they sell very interesting species from Oaxaca, Guerrera and Veracruz. The Oaxaca one is available for order in the cafe. Caution! Coffee is hot

The food was amazing, rich with flavour 🤩 service was also amazing, very friendly and had a nice conversation the whole time. Hands down the best Mexican food I've ever had! 💪🏼 Will come again!

A cosy, friendly place for authentic Mexican treats. I enjoyed the daily special chicken stew tacos, which came with rice and a delightfully flavourful sauce that had the perfect amount of heat. My wife had the chicken tacos with corn tortillas off the menu which were crispy, delicious,, and fun to eat. The owner and staff were exceptionally attentive and thoughtful. Non/alcoholic drink options were plentiful, with the usual sodas but also mango and guava soda from Mexico. The Chocolate Oaxaca was a revelation, something like hot chocolate cocoa but richer and creamier with slight cinnamon overtones. With it I enjoyed the special Pan de Muerto, a sweetbread with lemon and orange zest which is only seasonally available during the lead up to the Día de los Muertos celebration. Check out their website to find special event multi-course menus and other surprises. We can't wait to go back!

Very accessible place right in the middle of the city center, few meters away from the underground parking entrance. Very friendly staff, speak very good English. I asked for coffee suggestion and they were kind and helpful. It has this peculiar nice atmosphere, feels cozy and comfy and yet it is less than 20 meters away from the city center!

I really recommend it, especially if you are like me into coffee. ☕

They also bake something name "concha", I strongly recommend trying it out. Really goes well with a cup of coffee.

Very delicious hot chocolate and authentic Mexican food.

The food is authentic and is basically “home cooked.” The tortillas are made of corn (super authentic!) and they have some traditional Mexican pastries. I wish I was hungrier so I could have tried everything.
