Was a lovely caravan site, clean friendly, close to the beach. The on site chip shop was a little expensive for what you got, but the food was nice, and staff very nice and friendly. Walking to the main bit of Towyn wasn't to bad, so the campsite wasn't to noisy with fair ground being about a 15 minute walk. Great play area for kids. Would highly recommend this caravan site.

Have been holidaying here at Golden gate for man years now, a total of 4 weeks, annually. This visit however, has been a bit of a nightmare trying to enter through the barrier. Have been stuck outside, not alone as well, each time l try to get in. My car has been registered by the caravan owner, been very helpful, several times, to no avail! Not even when trying the barrier code! Been told by the reception that, quote: "The barrier is playing up"! No good when visitors are stuck the other side of it! I have never had any complaints about Golden gate prior to this, it is very frustrating and disappointing. It needs to be addressed before the season starts in earnest. PLEASE??? 🙏🙏🙏

First time staying at golden gate, we have stayed in the area on other sites but never tried this one.
We have 3 young children under the age of 7 so always look for a child friendly site with plenty of entertainment.
Firstly I would like to comment on the staff, the young bar staff at the club are all very attentive and polite. The security on the club are lovely, my little boy suddenly became unwell on the last night and vomited in the club, they where great about it and rushed to get us some water. Fish and chips staff/shop staff are really helpful and chatty and the girl at the swimming fitted us in as we had tried everyday but was told they where fully booked. The swimming is hard to book, I went down the club at 9 in the morning was eventually able to get a slot.
The site is clean but it takes a bit of time to navigate around it correctly as it’s so large.
It was great for us as a family and we cannot wait to go back, if you’re looking for something a bit quieter it’s probably not for you but it’s very family friendly.
Make sure to try jakes beach bar on white house (the site next door) it feels like you’re in Spain if you get the weather, it’s gorgeous.

I go every year for a week in a friend's caravan I go the Cambria pub to see the acts the staff are wonderful and friendly, they have a arcade where the boys who work there are very helpful and great with the children, bingo is next door the gentleman who calls the bing is so sweet, there's a shop on site reasonable prices also a chippy a bit pricey, swimming baths , washing machine and dryers , great place to stay buses regular £6for adult day rider,£4for child day rider well worth it

I love it here lovely clean camp. The swimming pool was great. There's a Man working there I think he's probably the boss. He was so welcoming and friendly. The pool was fully booked but he allowed us to go and use it as our 10 year old son was upset so he went out of his way to squeeze us in. I would definitely recommend Golden Gate.

Our caravan was lovely.
The park/ site is well maintained. The 'Beach Bar' was excellent.

The only let down was the fact there's only one waste drop (skips) on the park/ site.

We stay here yearly at the in-laws caravan so unlike those renting, we get the home away from home feel. The site is easy to navigate once you’ve driven around it a few times and for the most part, the site is clean. We always visit in August during the busy period and have never had a problem with noise or rowdy guests.

The beach is 5mins walk away over the bridge so if mobility is an issue for you, I’d suggest trying another beach close by. There’s a shop onsite which is a little overpriced, so we usually drive down to Asda which is 10mins away and stock up. A plus, kinmel bay beach is directly next to Asda and much more mobility friendly and sandier.

The onsite pool is small and gets busy especially when it’s rainy but the changing rooms aren’t great tbh. They are really small and unisex which we weren’t comfortable with so opted not to use again. We didn’t use the club onsite but we did try the fish and chips at the takeaway once.. it was ok but nothing beats a traditional fish and chip shop.

Overall we’d be back but we use the site more as a sleeping base and go adventuring around finding local and hidden spots.

Restored our faith in caravan holidays after a bad experience at another site earlier in the year. Caravan was lovely (gold plus) with nice decked area for the kids to play. main bedroom had king size bed and plenty of room for a travel cot (not provided by site so bring your own) Site was clean and well equipped. Clubhouse, service was good and the kids could play in the soft play whilst the adults sat with a drink. nice little shop with all the essentials. ten min walk to the beach or 10 min drive to Rhyl beach. I’m sure we’ll go back…….

It's brilliant, the caravans are great and there is a huge brand new entertainment complex, shop and fish & chip shop.
It's directly next door to a major bus route and a stone's throw from the beach.
The only downside is, there are no dog bins on site so people have stopped picking it up, it's everywhere at the back of the caravans, and the general bins are on one side of the site only, it's a right trek if your on the other side of park, this really needs addressing.

New owners on the site. Really happy. On site club house with daily entertainment, chippy, shop, play area, launderette, kiddies arcade, 5 min walk to the beach. Looking forward to the new refurbished clubhouse and kids zone in 2018. Would definitely recommend great family site and great area.

Golden gate great campsite well maintained beautiful pitches great clubs and facilities,
I stayed in MKR caravan 3 berth fully central heated, it was cold and windy but we had a great stay, beautiful caravan home from home, beautiful decking and pitch. The owners and the people on the campsite were very helpful.
Mike and Katie who own the caravan are so friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay we have booked another day breaks, due the the caravan being perfect and the campsite ideal for all ages, the beach being 5 mins walk
Book and see for yourself you won't be disappointed can't recommend enough, especially in the present circumstances with holiday uncertainty

Friendly, kids loved meeting new people!bingo's decent. Arcade could do with more machines. Hand gels around club and arcade. Cheap little shop on the grounds. Chippy was my daily dinner and tea 😂🤪. Only downside I can think off was the dryers ain't hot enough to dry your clothes and could cost a bomb alone for hours to dry. Will be back soon 🤩
