Cartwright Hotel

A lovely old hotel. Tired in places but the staff were friendly and welcoming. Not a huge menu but everything tasty.

Found this hotel by pure fluke! We had stayed at another hotel, which was atrocious! And we had to find another one quickly. We were met by friendly helpful staff, who was more than helpful. Making sure we were okay? The food was delicious and an impressive choice for breakfast! Thank you. We will be back

Nice rooms spotlessly clean the Staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble, great Breakfast menu with plenty of options. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would not hesitate to return. Well done the Cartwright Team!

Absolutely lovely hotel in a lovely location and amazing rooms. Staff very helpful and great hosts. Food was excellent also especially the ribs !!

Caroline was an excellent host for whom nothing was too much trouble. Bacon rolls and fresh coffee because we had to leave before breakfast service? No problem!!

We stayed at the hotel for our wedding and it was the most perfect place! The rooms are lovely and spacious! The food is incredible (we had dinner and breakfast) and what really makes it so special is Caroline and her wonderful staff! Nothing was ever a problem and they accommodated to every need! I felt like a VIP all weekend! Words cannot describe how wonderful Caroline is! Her hospitality and kindness shines throughout the hotel! I cannot wait to go back!

Had a lovely experience at this hotel during our break in the Cotswold.
The staff bent over backwards to ensure you were happy & comfortable.

Breakfast had everything you wanted to start the day & was waiter service.

The hotel also serves food in the evening which was very good with reasonable prices.

The rooms need updating but they were clean & comfortable with large fluffy bath towels & a very comfortable bed.

I would definitely stay there again for the personal service you receive from all the staff.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay and can certainly agree with all of the positive reviews previously posted. The stay was very relaxing and the quality of food and service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble in providing what we wanted. Clearly Caroline runs a very happy team and this shows through in the way that her team work and respond to customers. Will certainly be returning for another stay.

Family celebration involving 15 members. Caroline and her staff could not have done more for us. Every member of the staff we met were a credit to the company they work for, with no exception. The meal itself was excellent with service to match. Also stayed the night in a large comfortable en suite bedroom complete with lounge area.The breakfast menu had all you could wish for with service once again faultless.

What a great experience. Great booking experience, had a call to confirm everything was good to go and to book a dinner reservation. Nice clean, simple room and really quite surprisingly excellent food. Gammon, egg and chips was the best I've had, inch thick gammon steak, excellently cooked, crispy, fluffy chips, crunchy onion rings. Starter was Chorizo Hash with a perfect poached egg......

Super friendly staff...why would you stay at a travel lodge when you can stay here.

The hotel was really nice and socially distanced. We stayed in the Courtyard as we had our Beagle dog with us. Our room was a little tired but very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were excellent and very friendly particularly Harry and other lad in the evenings. Caroline was very attentive and caring. She was charming and treated Daisy to a sausage each morning. Nothing was too much trouble. Will hope to return. The food was excellent too.

Beautiful old English inn on the outside, very modern on the inside, lovely food, the service is great with pleasant friendly staff, the rooms were nice with everything you need and the perfect location for what we needed, I would definitely stay here again if coming back to the area.

There are lots of these types of hotel across this part of the world but I’ve never come across one with such unfailingly polite and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Good food too and comfortable rooms. Would recommend.

Friendly, helpful staff. Beautifully cooked bespoke breakfast. Served by manager & staff who couldn't be more helpful. Our little group ate here two nights, first night very good, second night food a little over cooked and dry. But edible. Drinks hotel prices, only one real ale on offer. Rooms clean & tidy, could do with a refresh re painting etc. Bed mattress in our room not so good although our friends bed was fine. Booked through travel zoo. All in all great stay & fantastic value.

Never been made so welcome by all of the staff, who worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable. The room was meant to be ready at 2pm, but we were cheeky and turned up at 11am because we had a wedding to attend nearby at 1pm and needed to get ready. They went out of their way and got us in the room by 11am, truly superb. Breakfast on Sunday morning was great and we could have what ever we wanted. Never been made to feel so welcome anywhere. Great value for money. The owner/manager was everywhere and worked so hard. Highly recommend for hospitality alone.

Had a lovely one night stay... spacious room with big bed. Made very welcome by staff.. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and the price was very reasonable and the food Superb !!!! ... In the Morning again met with cheery hello's and chit chat , and the Breakfast was Great ... homegrown apricots and lots of fruits and a perfectly cooked Smoked haddock with poached eggs ... Totally full n nice coffee too... Thanks very much from Me n Jo-Anne xx

Lovely hostess, great welcome, fabulous staff all working to deliver brilliant service, we were in the area for a wedding and this was ideally placed for a 2 night stay, food was plentiful and if a good quality

First of all I want to start my review with the manager Lady Caroline!
She looks so well after all her guests and makes sure everyone is happy and content!
You can tell that this extremely polite and nice lady puts so much heart into her work!
Even our daughter keeps mentioning her every day!
We forgot things in the hotel and Caroline quickly arranged a parcel to sent it back to us!
A very unique and amazing service with very nice staff!
The children enjoyed themselves a lot!
A very nice place if you are visiting the Cotswolds!
