Harbourmaster Hotel

Located on the Harbour at Aberaeron, we stumbled across the Harbourmaster and popped in for lunch. Lovely seated area inside and optional tables outside if you wanted to brave the cold. We opted for a smoked salmon chowder, bread with marmite butter, crispy squid with chilli jam and a children's sausage/mash/gravy. Food was incredible, beautiful flavours and freshness. It was a really lovely place to find. Will definitely visit again when back in the area!

We didn't stay in the hotel as we stayed near Lampeter but this was recommended by our hosts at the little cow shed.

Absolutely did not disapoint.

My partner is gluten free due to colitis. This is a preference rather than intolerance but a whole gluten free menu was provided for him.

Very good and wide range in menu. He didn't feel restricted at all.

Not a fan when we visited some years ago but have been twice this year. This week we had a lovely waitress who enthused about her work and the area. Lovely lady. We enjoyed a great meal, choosing lamb, beef, vegetarian and seafood dishes. Empty plates all around. Tasty deserts too. Great location overlooking Aberaeron harbour.

Without doubt the best cooked breakfast I've ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the lava bread was just incredible. We also went last night for a drink and the craft ale was spot on. Also, really friendly helpful staff. Just can't recommend this place enough and I'll be looking forward to heading over tonight. I'm not one for writing reviews but couldn't help myself

This place was stunning, and we called in on the off chance. Everything about it was amazing. Can't vouch for the rooms as we didn't stay in one. We loved it that much we have booked to go back Saturday. The food was exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the location wow just fabulous....

Wonderful stay. Staff are exceptional. Our room was great - large extra comfortable bed, harbour view, huge bathroom etc.
The evening meal was delicious and with lovely presentation. My wife enjoyed her vegetarian meal - who knew a "sausage roll" could be that inventive!
Breakfast was huge and delicious but no cereal? Disappointing.
We will stay again!

Lovely hotel, staff were brilliant. Location on the harbour in Aberaeron superb. Had a meal in the restaurant last Monday (2nd October) food was so tasty. We enjoyed our three day stay and would highly recommend.

Excellent quality food and drink. Great selection of meal choices and good portion sizes. Friendly and efficient service. Would recommend, will be returning.

A fabulous place, food was amazingly good...and I'm a chef to! Fresh local produce, creative and well executed menu. Great staff, great location on the harbour side. 10 out of 10!!

Brilliant on every level - Lets start with the food! Katsu Monkfish, Welsh rarebit, Cardigan bay crab linguini, duck and a crispy potato side followed by a sharing cheese and cracker platter. I've not got the dish titles exactly right, but all of them outstanding. I don't know how they did it, but for less than £60 per head for me and my wife, we got a 3 course meal with a bottle of Rose and a pint of Madri. Outstanding quality, the flavours, textures, seasoning, a perfect level of heat. It's among the best food we've ever had. I've never had Michelin food, but I imagine it's something like we experienced at the Harbourmaster. I didn't note the name of the rose wine, but it was just perfect, lightly floral delicate flavour and perfectly chilled. So many restaurant don't get the temperature right these days. These guys know how to serve wine properly. The atmosphere lives up to the food, every staff member friendly, informative and helpful. We made the mistake of not pre-booking a taxi for a return back to our campsite, and after I had exhausted 8 taxi companies, they managed to pull an unlisted firm out of the bag for us. The other customers were clearly happy, the whole place had a buzz about it, you rarely see. Highly recommended. For us this not just Aberaeron's finest, but probably Wales' finest.

Had a lovely family meal. Good portion size, well cooked and presented food and a very pleasant young lady who served us.

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch. Local sourced beef, fresh vegetables, great crispy roast potatoes & proper gravy with all the trimmings.
Cheese board was excellent, again local produce. Staff were attentive & welcoming. Also available a full menu not only Sunday roast.

Had lunch there today,we had not booked but they found us a table,all staff were a pleasure to deal with very polite and efficient,the menu and special was explained to us and the food was amazing will definitely be back for more, keep up the good work.

The food was excellent, and the service (provided by Neana) was warm and welcoming.
I took advantage of the lobster and champagne special offer for my birthday, and it exceeded expectations!! A real treat.
There is a really nice ambience to the Harbourmaster.

Had lunch today here for are wedding anniversary excellent service and quality of food good drink assortment would high recommend a visit.

Absolutely lovely supper! To us, the best food venue in the area! From staryer to dessert, everything is superbly uncomplicated and beautifully tasty. Would highly recommend!

Had meal there last night it was unbelievable. Food was lovely service was excellent. Really enjoyed well done harbour master.

Just popped in for a very nice cup of coffee and cake to warm up after a chilly motorbike ride , it was so lovely and warm in there and the young chap behind the bar was nice and welcoming
