Spanish School Ciudad Vieja Antigua Guatemala

I had a great time learning Spanish in Guatemala with Spanish School Ciudad Vieja! The teacher was excellent and everyone, including the host family was very kind and patient. I would highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to improve their Spanish through immersion!

I had one-week wonderful classes with Amanda. She is well versed in Kachiquel and Mayan cultures, especially those of traditional clothes and its patterns. We learned the history of Guatemala and how Mayans were repressed. We also talked about the traditional Mayan stories and the worldview behind them. I started reading Menchu’s book to know more about the civil war and how it impacted the indigenous communities. It was not only a Spanish class but also a class that gave me a deeper understanding of the indigenous cultures here. I highly recommend Amanda as your teacher if you are interested in indigenous cultures, Mayan rituals and stories.

I recently went on a vacation to Guatemala with my Spanish teacher; the experience was fantastic! My Spanish vocabulary increased, the food was amazing, and the culture was home filling! I recommend this experience to every and anyone whose willing to visit Guatemala to study Spanish.

This was one of the best trips I've went on. I learned about the cultures of Guatemala and even improved my Spanish. I strongly recommend this school.
