Mellow Hostel

Mellow Hostel is an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a laid-back atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The hostel's location right by the beach is perfect for surfing, and the accommodations are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.
The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to offer tips on the best local attractions to explore.Thrle lounge area and outdoor terrace, are inviting and great for meeting fellow travelers. Plus, the food is delicious and fueling for a day of surfing or sightseeing. Overall, Mellow Surf Hostel exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return for another relaxing and fun-filled stay!

Definitely the best hostel in Paredon! My girlfriend and I got a private room, which was very clean and comfortable. The shared facilities were also very clean! We also loved the atmosphere, the many fun activities, and the friendly staff! The food, drinks and pool were great too! Also, this is not really a party hostel, so we did not experience any nuisance during the night if we were not participating with the activity. We also took a surfing lesson, which was a really fun experience! Great teachers as well. All in all, Mellow is an amazing place to be!

Where do I start? 🤩 By far is one of the best hostels in El Paredon, if not the best one! The place is beautiful surrounded by green lush gardens, nice pool, delicious food with plenty of options. Many different spaces to chill, hammocks, a chill area downstairs and upstairs. Pool table, ping pong table, A LOT of fun games to play. The family dinner is spectacular. The staff is really loving and helpful. Very easy to connect and make new friends. Super close to the beach!! I am definitely coming back ❤

An upgrade from the other hostels I saw in the area for sure. Would be perfect if it was in the beach but is a quick walk. The food is really good and a good price. I saw lots of younger hip remote worker types here vs the more surfer vibes at other spots.

The grounds are lush and clean. Nice showers and bathrooms. Super clean. Friendly staff.

We had the superior suite at Mellow and it was amazing! The vibes are good, they have activities every day that you can opt in or out. It’s a good mix of socializing and relaxing. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the entire hostel was a great experience. Great pool, large outdoor hangout, amazing restaurant and fun activities. Highly recommend!

Really nice hostel with relaxing pool area and breakfast options. I stayed in a dorm with air conditioning which was turned on around 7pm - beds were really comfortable although there isn’t much locked storage space in the rooms themselves.

So happy we decided to stay here. Not located at the beach but close enough that it really doesn’t make a difference. Instead, you get a gorgeous looking property with delicious breakfast options, loads of social activities and a refreshing pool with hangout spots. The staff however really makes the difference. Not arrogant or lazy like in many other hostels. They are super friendly, helpful and try to make small talk with all guests to make them feel welcome. The private tipis are reasonably priced. However, due to the heat, next time I’ll go for a room with AC.

Mellow has been the best place for me to stay in El Paredon. Compared to the other (bigger) hostels, I felt that it was the most chill, clean and peaceful one.

But first, downsides of Mellow are two: It's not directly on the beach, which means you need to walk 2 mins to the surf spot. But that is not a problem at all I think. Moreover, just as the other hostels I've seen, it is not the cheapest, but for me it was worth the money.

On the other hand, Mellow hostel has the best pool and chilling area to what I've seen from El Paredon, very lovely and nicely done.
The restaurant was perfect and I loved the coffee and the food, which was served nearly all the time. My Tipi was really cool and the bathrooms were sufficient as well. The staff was kind and nice. :)

All in all, I can recommend Mellow if you can afford it. I think it's definitely worth it!

Omg! I really love with my friends Mellow Hostel! We weren't able to spend the night here because everything was booked a week in advance! Buuut we were here for a family dinner - super tasty and the pub quiz was the best in my life, this Polish guy is super funny! haha and the next day we spent the day around the pool, it was great! 🤩🤩🤩

Have stayed here on two separate occasions! The hostel is really nice, clean and has a good menu for food options. I also left two items of mine in this hostel and they kindly found them, organised them and sent them up in a shuttle to Antigua! So kind.

Mellow was a great hostel to stay at in El Paredon. The common areas were really comfortable & pool was nice to cool down in during the day. Definitely sign up for the family dinner, it was well worth what you pay. Their other food is also really good.

Side note: the shuttle we booked from Panajachel through them was pretty bad (broken windows, no AC & very full). I know it’s not “their” shuttle so it might not be their fault but it was rough.

Great Hostel and a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, the food is great and you can really relax in the lounge by the pool.
The owners are also from Germany.
If you are looking for a Hostel in El Paradon, there is no way around the Mellow Hostel👍

The BEST people that happen to work at an amazing hostel. Can’t recommend Mellow enough. These guys know how to throw an event, from crazy parties to heartwarming family dinners. The owners are lovely humans and have built a home away from home. Need to give a special shout-out to Valeria who was the first smiling face I saw and everyday made it her mission to make us all feel welcome and at home.

P.S. was working remote and wifi is great

Mellow hostel is the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at, with staff that feel like family and a town that welcomes everyone and feels like a true community. Really nice staff - dropped my portable charger through the woodwork and they got a maintenance guy to come and get it. Very kind, thank you! Facilities are otherwise excellent
