Hotel Isla Verde

Stayed as a couple for 2 days at this property. View from room was amazing. Manager Barbara was so welcoming and pleasant on the phone, in email, and in person once we actually arrived. Other staff were also amazing, but she definitely stood out. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Visited their restaurant a few times and can wholeheartedly recommend it! This place is the most scenic place in Santa Cruz and I guess one of the best spots on the lake overall for a relaxed time. Barbara, who was looking after the place when I visited, is also super nice and great to talk to. The food was very enjoyable and the bar has a nice selection of really good alcohol. So what more could you possibly ask for :-)
The place is a brief walk from from the main ferry dock but you can actually get dropped off and picked up by the public boats just outside the restaurant. So no need to worry if you have luggage.

The best place to dine in Santa Cruz!!! The hosts are just wonderful and very friendly. I would recommend you guys to have breakfast (the best) and a cozy romantic dinner. They are pet friendly and have Yôga classes.

Amazing secluded place on Lake Atitlán to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake and surrounding volcanoes! Our spacious bungalow in the tropical garden had fantastic views and everything we needed. Most importantly, the staff is so kind and caring: Leonardo, Kilyan and Barbara made us feel very special and enhanced our first visit to Guatemala. They informed us how to be dropped off at the pier of the hotel, arranged the booking of our next shuttle, got information about yoga classes, shared precious tips about hiking and heated up the sauna and jacuzzi just for us! Jumping in the lake after going to the sauna was so nice ! Breakfasts, dinners, cocktails and smoothies were scrumptious and the terrasse overlooking the lake is the best serene place to enjoy the beauty of this very special place on earth! Highly recommend Isla Verde. A big thank you to Barbara and the whole team of the resort.

Super relaxing place to stay on the lake! The cabins are a steep hike but worth it for the views. They are simple and cute. There are other accommodation options as well. The restaurant serves delicious food and both the sauna and hot tube were great. Staff are lovely and helpful. They helped arrange a shared shuttle from Guatemala City for me.

Heart warming place and Sophia is just amazing as host looking after you and your needs. Very Zen space overlooking the lack facing the colávamos. Also the food was amazing and the deserts are very well made.

Love this place. Love this place. Love this place... I could keep repeating that. The food, the ambience and the people so courteous and warm. The partially open restrooms were a concern before I headed there.. but was pleasantly surprised.. who wouldn't like to have a shower with view of the lake and the mountain. When you are here do get their fruit juices .. they are so fresh and the kitchen is run by locals... so the food tastes awesome.. they would cook like how they would cook for their family. So authentic.

Great place to move away from all the crazy city rat-race life and get some peace. I have not given their yoga offering a shot. We did do a trek/hike... the paths are not completely well defined but if you are the adventurous kind.. then get the trekking shoes on.

best food I’ve had on Lake Atitlan. highly recommend the burrito. also the natural orange juice is fantastic. the restaurant also has vegan options 👌

I ended up coming to this place because I participated in a yoga retreat.

The hotel is beautiful and the cabins and in the middle of great gardens. Service was above average I would say it was perfect. Food was delicious. I'm looking to come back soon. I highly recommend this place.

Stayed here a few years back. The place was AMAZING. It's quite affordable and there's much to do. I highly advice taking the hiking trail west along the mountainside for some gorgeous views of the lake, as well as visiting some of the quaint villages along the coast. The facilities were great, the trails and paths are meticulously groomed and it's just very relaxing and picturesque. The staff were friendly and they have little events and dinners you can participate in. 10/10 would visit again in a heartbeat.

This place is so amazing!! The food and service is incredible and the price you pay is great for the value. Would highly recommend the smoothies, zucchini soup& anything with sesame seed tofu 💚

Got married and held the wedding dinner/party here. I can't say enough good things about the entire experience. The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. They were meticulously attentive to every detail to make the night nothing short of stunning. Food was great. Setting was bar none the most inspiring natural environment you can find. The owner was a blessing to work with and made the day seamless and stress free.

Absolutely amazing stay in #4. It's a steep hike up to the little cabaña but the view is incredible. The bathroom is basically outside but covered, it was impeccably clean as was our room. There are 2 chairs and a small table outside and functioning (!!) reading lamps on nightstands by the bed. On a clear morning, we saw Fuego erupting from our bed! The common area has a fire going at sunset and the eating area hovers over the lake. Food is a bit expensive but delicious and worth it for the amazing atmosphere. Every detail has been thought of here and you can feel it.

A unique Eco Hotel experience for Nature Lovers, Lake Lovers and Food Lovers. The 3 combined to make your experience pleasurable. I love the food and sit at the restaurant close to the waterfront. The deck is great to sunbath... and from Isla Verde lots of walks and hikes available

It was really good. The place and stuff is amazing. Very quiet, St. Cruz is the best for that part. Isla Verde has different types of rooms offers dinner, and really large variety of shakes, breakfasts, ect.

I have stayed at Isla Verde 3 times and each has been it's own wonderful experience beginning with excellent staff services in Spanish and English.
The food is spectacular (and I just returned from Barcelona and Rome). The small dinner menu is worth making reservations for. Fresh produce mostly comes from their Eco- garden and neighbors. Share a table as this restaurant attracts interesting people, muy amables.
Beautifully decorated rooms vary in size and most come with a steep hike, but the view from each is well worth it. Showers are solar heated so 2-4 pm is the warmest.
There are indoor and outdoor covered areas that suit yoga, hammocks, pillow & table games, and beautiful lake views. TV and internet in the reception area and restaurant only. Bookshelves offer a huge selection of books and games. If you take one away, be sure to leave one behind. If a storm knocks electricity out around the lake, the Isla dock's solar lights make it the lighthouse for the lake.

Although I have never stayed at Isla Verde, I have frequented it various times as a place to relax. The food and drinks are great, the covered patio or outdoor raised balcony are amazing, and the the garden setting is perfect. If visiting Santa Cruz or Jablalito, it is a place to include in your trip for a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful lake setting.

One of the most beautiful hidden gems along the Lake Atitlán coast. Riley & crew provides one of the best places to stay & recharge while traveling around this area. The meals are affordable and delicious, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the views and vibe are unforgettable. Highly recommended.

By far one of the best places to eat in Santa Cruz. Everything is made fresh and delicious. Better to not be in a rush, as everything is made fresh. Have a coffee or catch some sun rays while you wait. The waffles are awesome here and they have some pretty special top shelf bottles you don't always see around the Lake. Me gusta!
