Hotel Paredon Surf House

It's the perfect location for relaxation and surfing. The employees are super nice, as well as the surf instructors. We stayed in the female dorm room and it was really nice and clean. The outdoor showers are also amazing. Overall, we had a great vacation here and definitely recommend for everyone to stay here. :)

Stayed for a week in the female only dorm. Really enjoyed my stay, I had some surf lessons which were really good, I originally got lessons at Driftwood as they were slightly cheaper but as my Spanish is so bad I couldn’t understand the instructor. Hotel Paredon made sure I had an instructor who could speak some English and the boards were in much condition than at the Driftwood hostel. I then rented a board for a few days and that was very straight forward as well. I felt really safe at the hotel as there was a watchman over night who made sure that no one came into the area who wouldn’t be there. There’s also a beautiful black cat called Batman who patrols hostel at night! The manager Rene was so lovely and checked in on me throughout my stay. I think it’s nice that the hotel has traditional buildings with fans rather than air conditioning. It’s all part of the experience and it was nice to feel the sea breeze!

Nothing to do with the hostel, but for anyone who isn’t aware… the beach is covered in sand fleas at sunrise and at night. I sat on the beach one night to watch the stars and my feet and legs were absolutely covered in the worst bites the next day. So hear my warning and only use the beach during the day! If you don’t want to end up covered in bites x

Beautiful spot, well maintained, nice Italian and Guatemalan staff, easy relaxed stay between the serve yourself beer and ice cream, the plentiful hammocks in the shade and the beach. Also good surf instructors - ask for Bagner. Only downside is the hostels next door have serious sound systems that are a bit loud 12-4am so use earplugs or crank the fan.

My wife, 2 kids in their late teens and I, stayed at the hotel just before X-mas. Been to Paredon in the past, and even though the village is getting more and more turistic, this hotel is a small little oasis in the middle of it! I believe that it was fully booked, but didn't feel like it. This is a simple place, but that's part of the charm, and its location right in front of the beach is perfect! While the food takes a bit of time to arrive, it is very reasonable priced and good quality, especially compared to many of the other places. I had an incident down there, where someone didn't have their dog on a leash, and I needed some help. The manager Jose was a GREAT help, very professional! 2 issues..... 1.:Paradon seems to be in a face of being a party place, and at night time there was loud music from the neighboring hotels, but I got the understanding that this is something many are tired of. So we could not sleep till midnight. 2.: was that the one bed was very small, and sharing it, for 2 people you really need to be able to sleep close.... But all in all I can highly recommend it!

A lovely hotel, right on the sea front. I stayed in a dorm room with two friends. We had fans but could have done with A/C (difficult to manage in tree houses but it was still okay for sleepjng). The food at the restaurant is really good and big portions. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Raul. The pool is so relaxing and cool, there are hammocks everywhere to chill in, a slack line. We even booked surf lessons through reception, which were also excellent.

A little piece of paradise just a few steps from the sea. The accommodation 'El Paredon Surf House' exceeded our expectations! The room (female dorm) was beautiful and clean! The view of the sea was unique! Communication with the employees was quick and easy! Highly recommended!

The "El Paredon Surf House" is a wonderful place to relax. We stayed in the women's dorm, which was very clean and everyone has their own mosquito net.
The food was delicious and there are dishes to share.
The showers are outdoor, really nice.
I fully recommend the accommodation.

Beautiful place right on the beach. Just dont go to El paredon during easter week if your looking for a quiet and peaceful time. The surrounding hostels are extremely loud and party all night.

Exceptional location right next to beach. Rooms are clean with good views. Wifi had descent speed so if you are looking to work during your stay then this is a good choice.

This review is only for the restaurant part. I ordered the pescado a la plancha with rice and salad, got a huge portion and the fish was cooked to perfection! To drink I got the frozen lemonade with mint, also very good and refreshing!

What a week! A place to disconnect, surf, and enjoy great food all day. My wife and I went on a surf trip to Paredon, waves were amazing! Our day consisted of waking up and getting some coffee, and drink it while we enjoyed the sunrise at the beach. Surfhouse is right on the beach, so you literally can see the waves from the pool. We would surf all morning, have breakfast (típico was our favorite, and then have coffee banana shake to hit the waves again) relax all afternoon by the pool, take a nap in our private room, and surf the afternoon again, while we enjoyed the sundown from the water. The staff was supremely friendly, thank you to all the kith en crew. The manager (Jose), always showed for sunrise and sundown and enlightened us with great conversations and stories. The front desk crew (Raul y las italianas) extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was a delight, the outdoor bathroom in the room maintained us in tropical vibe, and the room was exotic , comfortable and peaceful. We will definitely come back again to Paredón, and start at Surfhouse no doubt.
The only downside is, that all other hotels are party hotels, and the music at night is so loud. The front desk will provide you with ear plugs to get through the night. However, Surfhouse is not a party hotel, it’s chill and peaceful. But the rest of hotels around can get loud, therefore, Surfhouse is your spot if you want to avoid the party crowd.

Great Vibe!!! Best place in El Paredón. A true backpacker and surf hotel. Like it use to be, the real thing. Very much recommended.

As a regular guest at surf house for two years I want to again point out how happy I am to stay here regularly! One of the most special things about surf house is the people who work there and who will help you with anything you need to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay! Surf house has a really chill and laid-back vibe, so it is the perfect place for every activity (yoga, reading, working, chilling, etc.) you're into that requires tranquility. The local food the staff in the kitchen prepares is delicious and served with love. The view from the Bungalows in the first row is incredible and you get a feeling of really living at the beach. There's a fresh pool which is taken care of and cleaned every single day. My personal favorite things about surf house are the incredibly beautiful garden with hamacas everywhere and the palapa at the beach which also features hamacas and is probably the best place to be at the entire beach in El paredón. Overall, I can only recommend this place to everyone going to el paredón!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Paredon Surf House.
The location is right on the ocean and has a great pool. The bungalow we had was right in front of the beginning of the black beach.

The breakfast was really delicious as well as all the food in the restaurant. It is easy to rent a surfboard right on site and the whole team is very friendly and helpful.

At night it is quiet at the hotel, but if you feel like you can go to one of the other locations and party.

We can highly recommend staying there and enjoying the beach life in Guatemala.
We will be happy to come back.

I was there for 2 nights, it was wonderful, the location in front of the Beach was amazing, the food was good too, the service was nice, I was in the suite 1 it is a really good place, the Only thing I prefer or change is the net for the mosquitos it should have some sticks to support it because, sometimes it fell in our faces

Great place directly at the ocean. Early morning sunrise can be viewed basically out of bed. Our „casita“ was very spacious and we loved the terrace with couch area to spend the hot afternoons after the surf.
The garden is beautiful with a pool, a lot of hammocks and even a slackline.
The food is great as well, all freshly prepared by the local team.

Stayed at El Paredon Surf House recently, with 3 friends and had an amazing time! The facilities were in amazing shape and kept up very nicely. It was definitely the escape we all needed from city life. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! Food was excellent and the kitchen staff were great and friendly. Rooms were beautiful and housekeeping came everyday to clean! Just bring your bug spray! Would recommend to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat.
