Hotel Kaana Surf, El Paredon

A wonderful and peaceful place to stay, chill, relax and enjoy the vibes of El Paredon 😍
The hotel is very well located, just in front of the beach and sea (perfect for beautiful sunsets)! We could hear the ocean when we woke up

The room are super comfy and well decorated, I really loved the style

There are 2 swimming pools and one jacuzzi which is suuuper nice 😊 we felt like in a private villa. I could do my yoga in the morning in the garden

Also, Staff was nice and helpful, they helped us organize a tour in the mangrove and our trip back to Antigua. Thanks a lot 🙏🏼

Ka'ana was such a perfect and relaxing experience! Right on the beach, with gorgeous on site pools. Quiet and comfortable, but walking distance to everything in El Paredon. The staff was so lovely and accommodating. This is the perfect place to spend some wind down time in Guatemala!

We spent three perfect nights chilling and resting after the El Fuego hike.

My family and I stayed for three nights and very much enjoyed the beautiful views, excellent service and high quality rooms and food. Right on the beach with ac in the suites and a lovely pool. Rustic but also comfortable and modern.

We started our honeymoon in this hotel and it was just amazing. Very warm and welcoming people combined with a gorgeous bungalow and delicious tacos. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the swimming pool and some surf lessons as well. We can highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed our last leg of our Guatemala trip relaxing at Kaana! Rooms were spacious and bed was very comfortable. The hammocks outside of each room was a nice touch. Great location & really enjoyed the shrimp tacos and umbrellas/chairs available to rent to spend the whole day at the beach. Enjoying the sunset with your favorite drink was a plus!

Staff was attentive and the best part was just having a running tab and paying at the end of the stay. I would highly recommend this place to anybody!

We stayed for a few days during the week, I was working most days, for which they do have a spectacular covered terrace above the restaurant. Many other things are spectacular about this hotel: the design/decor, the pool, the garden, the service. Very nice breakfast, and everything we had at dinner was also super tasty and arranged beautifully on the plate. We did try other restaurants since my partner does not eat seafood and that is what their menu concentrates on. Some reviews complain about the price, but you pay for what you get: of the other two restaurants we visited, one had great pizza, the other had mediocre Indian food, but the service in both left A LOT to be desired! At Kaana they take good care of the staff and the staff takes good care of the guests!

This was a great place to end our 19 day trip in Guatemala, just steps from the beach. Extremely friendly staff, breakfast with a view and can’t beat the hammock and private rooftop in our room. Will be coming back here very soon!

To reiterate another review, this was the perfect place to end a 10 day trip in Guatamala. The resort is homely, relaxing, and beautiful. It is literally a 50 m walk to the beach, and lots of surfboards available to rent. The food is great and very modifiable for those with dietary restrictions. The staff are very friendly and the owner is really personable and makes sure to connect with those who stay at the resort. I needed to get my Covid-19 rapid antigen test on the last day of our stay and the owner personally took me into town to get the test done from a local nurse who administers them. All in all I had a great time here and I would highly recommend others to stay here.

Absolutely magical vacation! This little boutique hotel has everything one could ask during a remote working vacation or just a place to disconnect 100%! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is super professional and friendly, thank you! Their breakfast makes you want to eat there every day. Each room has a hammock to finish that novel you have been reading. The pool is relaxing and shaded, and the black sand beaches are all to yourself, now crowds or rowdy people. A great place to play in the pacific surf but be careful the waves are strong. We took an eco-tour to see the sea turtles, roseate spoonbills, egrets, pelicans in the mangroves. The town is small but has a few impressively good restaurants. We hope to visit again soon!

Amazing service! Amazing room! Wonderful atmosphere! The most peaceful part of our trip, even Luna the hotel dog was a great addition to the wonderful trip.

Both of my vacations at Kaana Surf were amazing! The personalized service at the hotel, restaurant, and the pool was perfect. The staff is so friendly and accommodating to every need. This hotel is a perfect paradise for any beach and sun lover. The food is also incredible! Recommend trying the shrimp tacos/empanadas, ceviche, or seafood pasta. Everything on the menu is spectacular, including the drinks. We also went on a mangrove tour and saw dozens of turtles and took surf lessons with instructors that come to the hotel. Highly recommend trying the surf lessons, even for first-timers! The instructors take you out during low tide so it's easier to learn and you feel safe. They are very knowledgeable and friendly and make sure to teach you what you need to know to be able to surf each time! The hotel and rooms are clean, organized and the beds/bedding quality is so comfortable. Plus the suites have an incredible rooftop pool where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. The rooms downstairs have relaxing and beautiful outdoor showers. All rooms are peaceful and come with hanging balcony hammocks outdoors. Overall, everything is tailored perfectly to enjoy an amazing vacation. I have zero complaints and could not recommend this beautiful hotel more!

Kaana Surf is a complete dream. Located right on the beach, Kaana is the perfect getaway for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy time by the beach, surf and spend time with nature. The rooms at Kaana are spacious, clean and each have their private outdoor shower, hammock (!!) and outdoor space. Additionally, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks are out of this world. I highly recommend the ceviche and the fried fish - so yummy! Thank you Alejandro, Juan, Edwin and Carlos for making our stay so special. I will definitely be visiting again.

Stay in a house across the street and popped in for a quick bite. The service was outstanding and the food excellent. I'll be back again. If the service for the rooms are as good as the restaurant I do recommend checking this place out.

Drive in the other direction from Puerto San Jose and you’ll arrive in El Paredon, a tiny Guatemalan coast village that’s famed for its surf breaks. There are plenty of surf schools where you can rent boards or book in for a lesson, although the waves aren’t the easiest for beginners to learn on. Aside from surfing and watching newly hatched turtles scuttle across the black sands, El Paredon is surrounded by lush mangroves that provide a refuge for native wildlife and are best explored by boat.

Nice and friendly hotel in a beautiful spot in Guatemala. Rooms are cozy and the bathroom is a nice surprise!

Kinda expensive but the installations are great fully recommend!
