Rancho Moises

My friend and I had a lovely time with Fransisco and his horses! The area and view points were beautiful. For us the well being of the horses is very important and we could really notice Fransisco takes good care of his horses. He knows a lot about the area as well and speaks good English!

We really enjoyed the tour on the horses today. The horses are well trained and easy to ride. Francisco is very friendly and gave us extra information on the surroundings of the volcano. I’m an experienced rider but my boyfriend is not but that was not a problem at all since the horses are calm. The horses are well fed and looked after. Definitely recommend doing a 2 hour ride (we were sad we couldn’t go any longer).

We are very happy with our experience with Rancho Moises. It was amazing, you get the chance to see beautiful landscapes and a beach. Our guide José was very knowledgeable and told us about the volcanoes and lake Atitlan history. The horses are calm, predictable and well cared for. He asked us if we wanted to trot or gallop (you can say no) and we did. Nothing compares to being on a beautiful galloping horse in my opinion, so I recommend you try it :) Thank you for the magic afternoon!

Absolutely incredible! Everyone was so nice and the experience was amazing. Jose was so fun to chat with the whole time. The horses were very calm and knew the whole route. Definitely don’t skip this!

Firstly, everywhere I travel I have a goal of riding. I own my own horse as well. I traveled solo and let me tell you, it's not common for places to allow you to go alone. The hotel I stayed at connected with the owner and had a tour for me the next morning.

I thoroughly recommend this company for a great experience. Molina was the horse I was paired with. She was lovely! Had an amazing lope through town and up in the forest. I did not have the 3 hrs to go to the beach sadly since I had a shuttle to catch. I did the 2 and had a great time and views anyway. The guide was great and walked me through town on the way to the stables.
The horses are cared for, small (but that is the breed itself) and well behaved.

Great experience! 😍🐴 I did different tours with the most lovely horses, which carried me safely across the nature areas and coffee plantation around San Pedro (even though I know close to nothing about how to ride a horse 😅) Muchas Gracias to the kind and friendly owners/guides of Rancho Moises also!

Fransisco took us on a fantastic ride up the nearby hills for a 1.5 h ride with absolutely beautiful scenic views over lake Atitlán. Great prices and guides fluent in English is a great plus! The horses are very well trained and gentle, so it was easy to steer even for inexperienced horse riders like us. A HUGE recommend from us!

Contacted Francisco via WhatsApp (his English is good!) to arrange a private ride for my daughters and I. He brought us through town and then into some forest trails to a beautiful (aside from some trash) black sand beach! Book directly with them b/c I got ripped off going through a local tour company the first time. Call or message and they’ll set you up!

I’ve never left a review before, but had to for rancho Moises. The horses are amazing, and so are the people. I had the best ride and am already planning on doing another before I leave Atitlan. Pure magic ✨

My friend and I had a wonderful time with Chico! He treated us with the upmost kindness and took us on a beautiful tour of the city, the forest and the beach! I would definitely ask for him if you plan on visiting!

We had a brilliant time on our ride with the horses here. Pedro was very helpful and a great guide and the horses were really gentle and good tempered particularly given 2 of us hadn’t ridden for a long time and 1 of us had never ridden. The route was also really beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

If you are in San Pedro this is a must ! Breath taking views and amazing horses 🐴. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of the lake and the nature surrounding it . The guide Pedro was great hadn’t ride a horse in years and he quickly showed me how and it went smooth . 10/10 A must support the locals and get to know them !

We highly recommend rancho Moises! We took two separate tours with Francisco and he was great! The horses are so calm, fine for someone who has never ridden before. We particularly liked the tour to San Juan to the coffee fields! It’s also so affordable. Muchas gracias!

Absolutely amazing experience. Francisco is great. Let me loose as an experienced rider and had my girlfriend riding solo within an hour. By the end she was at a canter. Would recommend it to absolutely anyone

Nice horses, routes and guides at excellent prices. Really enjoyed the horseback-riding with them.

Rancho Moises is a wonderful project that is also in need of real support - with over 20 horses and no land or corral, every ride helps feed the horses and works towards the business being able to buy land and give these amazing gentle equine friends a better life!
