During our three-month stay in Antigua, my wife and I bought our meat and occasional farm-fresh vegetables here, especially onions and guisquil (which is a sort of Guatemalan squash, just as yummy as chayote). The selection of meat is excellent, always very fresh: chicken, beef, pork, occasionally turkey, and possibly lamb, although my wife and I differ on that point.
Friendly, fair prices, fast service, and always very clean & careful with sanitary practices. And top-quality meat. Can't ask for more.
Well, actually... you might ask the butcher for a certain custom cut if you are conversant in Spanish, and if they can accommodate you, they will. Be sure to ask well in advance.
(Why in Spanish? The possibilities for misunderstanding are so great, and the opportunity-cost so high if you refuse to pay for their custom work, that they are understandably reluctant to arrange a special order via Google Translate or broken Spanish...)

I was happy to but some nice marbled steaks. About 40% cheaper than Epicure( too expensive). They only have basic items like meat, eggs, cream and cheese. The place would look better if they stocked more gourmet items like wines and condiments. Not many vegetables either.

We go there often for beef. Never been desapointed. Today we bought "lomito local" and we had it for super. It was tender and fill of flavor. Great meat!

La calidad de la carne es excelente. El servicio y atención al cliente 100 puntos. Hago mis compras de carne cada quince días y nunca me decepcionan. Además cuentan con servicio a domicilio, el cual es súper rápido a pesar de la distancia.

Exelente servicio y precio. La calidad es de primera. Solo el problema de falta de parqueo. Que es lo usual en Antigua.

The owners are very dishonest, and added fees to our purchase without telling us prior. We bought about 200Q worth of meat, the owner simply asked “how would you like to pay” so I gave her my card. Then, when she handed me back the receipt, I saw additional charges has been added. When I asked the owner what these charges were, without a word she rudely pointed to a sign that was 6 feet to my left, that she knew I could not see. This tiny sign said there were additional charges for using a card. I understand credit card fees, but to intentionally deceive a customer by not telling them about these fees, and then to pretend that I was supposed to have seen a sign, is a disgusting and incredibly dishonest business practice. To add insult to injury, we had plenty of cash on us, and had she simply told us about the charges we would have paid in cash. I said this to her. And instead of being a professional and apologizing, she simply shrugged her shoulders. We live in the neighborhood, but we will never return to this business, and highly suggest to others that they also shop at more ethical and deserving businesses.
