Nativo Café

Absolutely fantastic coffee made thoughtfully and with great attention. I know everyone has one place that they think is the best coffee they've had in Guatemala, and this is definitely mine, no contest.

They've got a great open space (though there's a good amount of street noise) that's well decorated and equipped with games and coloring sheets for kids. Come for the coffee and stay for the free wifi or conversations with the friendly staff.

Don't skip out on the apple-pineapple cake or the cheesecake, they alternate it day to day!

The richness in their coffee is so authentic and the real deal. Their logo is awesome. It represents its people working hard picking coffee. The young gentlemen was very informative.

Guatemala is a country full of culture and traditions and it was a truly pleasurable meeting Edwin and sharing in the richness of Guatemala’s emerging coffee culture.

Nativo is certainly a stellar coffee shop in terms of its beautiful design and aesthetics that would rival the most trendy coffee shop anywhere, but Edwin’s enthusiasm for Guatemalan coffee really sold me Nativo and makes it a place I would recommend to anyone passing through Lake Atitlan. The knowledge and passion this establishment puts into every cup of coffee is evident and you will not be disappointed if you are connoisseur with their many different varieties of beans and methods of preparation.

As a bonus I had one of my favorite meals at Nativo as well, and I really savored the chilaquiles I was lucky enough to try from their brunch menu on a Saturday visit.

The nativo cafe is a great spot for a coffee break or even for working. The coffee is really good and the prices are as well.

The owner and main barista Edwin knows his stuff and pays a lot of care to the drinks he makes.

I tried both their filter coffee and a cortado with milk and everything was really delicious. The croissants and pastries are really good and more European style.

We also had some toasts for breakfast (with egg and another with mushroom) and everything was delicious.

Edwin knows exactly what he is doing. Was so happy to get a good quality coffee. Highly recommend this place and their food is also amazing 🤩 10/10

Amazing coffee and a super passionate owner/barista who knows what good coffee is about. Nice music and good wifi makes this the perfect chill/work spot for coffee lovers in Panajachel.

Nativo café has the best coffee in town. It’s in a quiet, leafy part of Panajachel perfect for hanging out or doing a spot of work. The staff is warm and friendly and will make you feel at home immediately.
They also have a great brunch selection… all day long!

I drink a lot of coffee and this cafe does not disappoint. They serve a balanced medium roast with nuanced flavor and very little bitterness. The barista is the real deal and could hold his own in a new York cafe.
The space is beautiful and open aired and sunny but it's the staff that really makes this special. They're friendly, quick and professional. If you're lucky enough to be there when the owner is present then make sure to say hello. Fredy is extremely knowledgeable and is doing amazing things for San Juan.

A very well prepared cup of very good coffee! The setting has a great vibe to it as well and really good customer service. They explained the origin of the coffee they serve which was a nice touch. Nice place!
