El Gran Café

We loved El Gran Café. It was a unique experience in its small, simple shop with a very nice environment. We tried the café de la casa and when we noticed that it was being served out of a coffee pot and not being brewed on the spot, our expectations had dropped. To our surprise, we must say without exaggeration that it was the best pot brewed coffee we had tasted in quite some time. We loved it so much that we also ordered a cappuccino. It is no surprise why we saw so many people coming in and out of El Gran Café during our visit. It is definitely a must stop in Antigua for all coffee lovers.

What a cute place this is. They serve a good cappuccino, a bit strong, but it was no problem to get some extra milk. And a delicious chocolate cookie!

What a cute place with delicious coffee.
I ordered a coffee latte and highly enjoyed it. The place is stylish and cozy; however, a few seats/tables would be accommodating.
They also sell some other goods such as tea, coffee and t shirt.

People here are incredibly kind and the coffee is delicious. This is the place to buy your coffee bag to take a little piece of Guatemala with you.

If you love coffee, El Gran Cafe has to be your first top in town. The Baristas know what they are doing and their coffee beans are spot on. Came here most days throughout our stay and got lost of coffee beans to take home.

They have seriously some of the best coffee beans. Coffee owner works directly with producers to pay a fair price for coffee beans. They have such a great care for the process and have batistas and roasters with serious knowledge about coffee.

Trying out coffee shops (specifically roasters) is one of my favorite things to do when visiting new places. I have had coffee all over the US and Europe and this was hands down the best mocha I have ever had. Run, don’t walk to try this place!

The milk espresso drinks are magnificent.

The espresso itself is not my style, but that is down to the style served in Antigua.

Service, preparation, etc. were all top notch.
Get the cortado or similar unless you are and acidity afcionado.

A shame that they dont sell posters...

Very delicious coffee!!! Try it out if you are in Antigua. The Barista's are also very friendly.

The Cafe Del Dia was the best filter coffee that we had in Antigua (and also the cheapest). Very nice interior and great staff! The only downside is that there are no tabels, so it doesn't invite to hang out for long hours.

Great place, filled with energy and passion for coffee! A must-do while in Antigua for specialty coffee enthusiasts like me!
